The work that has been done is quality and things were finished on time and in budget. The workers were very conscientious about the work they were doing, Any time there has been a problem it has been taken care of.
Description of Work: They have done several jobs for us. They renovated the master bath and bedroom. They also renovated our kitchen and painted the living room and refinished wood trim. This year we had them make the master bathroom handicap accessible. This means they put in a walk in tub, widen doors, installed stool and all the painting and touchup that was needed. They just finished renovated our small bathroom.

I had never met Dan, but my neighbor was having Heritage do a remodel and they recommended him. I could not be happier with this company. Extremely professional. All the subcontractors were clean, respectful, and very skilled in their trades. Dan took care of every detail, even when I changed my mind and even when I asked him to repurpose a lazy-suzy, he made me a custom wine trolley! I will hire them again and again.
Description of Work: I had my kitchen completely gutted and remodeled. Also had the master shower gutted, and remodeled from a leaking shower pan.

Overall, I am extremely happy with our new bathroom. We had several goals such as more storage space, a new shower, new vanity, and a new more contemporary design. Heritage Renovations achieved all of our goals and produced a bathroom that looks fantastic. Leslie made several suggestions along the way that turned out to be great ideas! Some of her suggestions were for a different floor tile, a new backsplash design, mirror design, lighting (which turned out great!), cabinet door design, and countertop. We decided to take her suggestions and are happy we did. The process took longer than I expected but the workmanship is excellent. Dan built the vanity and new cabinets and they look beautiful.
Description of Work: We used Heritage Renovations to renovate our master bathroom.

Upon my initial call to Heritage the owner/contractor was very pleasant and seemed interested in coming to my home to give an estimate. Once he found out my address he even thought he put in the original cabinets, which was very pleasing to me. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived promptly. We went over all the areas that I wanted to update, and he said that he had installed my cabinets, and it would be no problem to match up the new cabinets with the existing ones. It seemed as if we had a nice rapport, he took a few notes and said he would e-mail me in a few days with an estimate. I never heard from him again.
Description of Work: I called Heritage because I wanted to do some renovations of my bathroom; extend cabinets in my kitchen; and install wood floors in my family room and formal dining room. My rating is based on my meeting with the owner/contractor not for services performed.

Response from Heritage Renovations LLC
I was the one who met with [member name removed]. All is as she states in here review, except that I did prepare a proposal, along with a sketch of cabinets to be added to. We had indeed built the original cabinets for her builder when it was new. I sent the email promptly to address that I was given. I never received a response. This sometimes happens, and did not seem unusual. People change their mind or are unaware of what certain projects cost. Had I received a phone call or an email alerting me that email was not received, I could have sent it again, or hand delivered the proposal, as is most common for us. Without notice, I can't be responsible for our email being caught by a spam filter, or other numerous possibilities beyond my control. I feel that the unfavorable rating is unfair, having not been given any notice to correct the situation. Dan Peake

Well, first of all Leslie told me she works on the design side and she didn't even show up to look at the kitchen, even though that's what I said I was interested in at this point. Dan stated she wasn't feeling well or something, so it should have been re-scheduled if that was the case. Dan came in and really had no input as far as design ideas, he took some measurements, asked us what we were thinking about what we wanted to do, and wanted to talk about price, which is fine, but when we told him what we were thinking about spending, he just said he didn't think it could be done, even though we told him we would do a lot of the work ourselves etc. I've done research and so has my husband, so we weren't just throwing out a number. The bottom line is, they don't seem to be interested in working on a house unless it is a very high-end project. So, I would say don't bother calling unless that's your plan. He came out on the 11th of July and said it would be a few weeks and he'd get back to us with drawings and we haven't heard a word from them since. So, the whole idea of dealing with them was a big waste of our time. In my opinion, they should have just stated on the phone that they weren't interested unless we were going to spend "X" amount of money and then we could have just started looking for someone else.
Description of Work: As we will be remodeling out kitchen next summer, I'm trying to plan ahead and get some design ideas from a professional. So I e-mailed them with those details and Leslie called me back to set up a visit to come look at our kitchen. We talked in depth about what I was looking for them to do and my ideas. Dan came out on the 11th of July.

Response from Heritage Renovations LLC
In response to [member name removed] comments, I submit the following. I called [member name removed] and offered to come out in place of Leslie, since she was off work do to a auto accident injury. She agreed and we did meet with her and her husband. They showed me the scope of work on their wish list and I took notes and measurements. This project consisted for a complete remodel of a very large kitchen, along with removing walls, moving appliances, new cabinets, granite, tile, etc. I asked about their budget, as I do on every estimate, to see if client is realistic about the costs. This does not affect our proposal. It is only a qualifying tool to see if project is even possible. Their budget was way too low to cover all aspects of project. I was told that they had seen many projects on DIY TV and HGTV that was able to be done for that price. They offered to do portions of the job to save money. I informed them they we did not work on projects where homeowners did a part of the work. We are not able to control the quality and progress of project when homeowners try to DIY. We also can't warranty their work. This seemed offensive to them. As they were planning the work a year in advance, I suggested that they look for another company/contractor that might be open to their needs. We would like to be able to do every project, but after 35 years of experience, we have learned to walk away from some. Dan Peake owner Heritage Renovations LLC

When we first met with both Dan and Leslie both my wife and I felt very comfortable with them. They were down to earth people that gave us the sense that they cared about us as individual people. When we received the quote on the job it was lower than most but was higher than some. Of all the quotes, weather higher or lower, their quote included more work to be done than any of the others. Dan explained in detail what would be done and gave us an estimate of 6-8 weeks for the job to be completed. On the day the work was to begin he and his crew were here on time and completed most of the demolition on that day. I was really impressed with the care that they took at limiting the mess to just the area of the house being worked on. I am no professional but have done quite a bit of handyman work around the house and I have never been able to keep things a clean as they did for such a large job. All work was completed on schedule and on budget. Along every step of the way if there were any extras that we requested be added on, and did have quite a few, everything was accounted for and invoiced separately. This made it easier for me track the total amount we were spending and ensuring that nothing was double billed. All of the workers that came into our house not only did completely professional work but were also extremely respectful of our privacy and our property. If there were any questions or issues that either myself or my wife had they were answered and/or corrected completely and to our satisfaction. Leslie's help in the design process also made quite a difference in the positive outcome of the job. Any suggestions that she made as to style or color were not only good but also fit our desires and style. I have had nothing but positive statements to make about recommending them to my friends and already have recommended them to several. While a kitchen remodel is always very disruptive to your life, with the way the work was done for us, the disruptions were kept to a minimum. Overall it was a great experience and we can not be happier with their work.
Description of Work: Our entire kitchen was stripped to the bare walls, floor and ceiling and completely remodeled. New cabinets, counter tops, tile floor, lighting and textured walls and ceiling was put in.

They are very good. I would recommend them any time, and I am pretty particular. I would hire them again. They were very good at giving us an itemized bid and blue print, so we knew exactly what were getting.

They did such a good job and here in Oklahoma City it is really hard to find a contractor that does a good job. Dan and Leslie Peake are the owners. My whole interaction with them was superb. They did above and beyond the call of duty and they just did a marvelous job. I did not have to fight with them because if I had a question about something, they were very good about answering it completely. They just did the job and did it right and they reason I know this is because my husband is retired and he observed them doing their job. I spent a little over $20,000, but that was cleared down to the studs and they had to do new plumbing and they replaced all fixtures, and a lot of tiling. I will give them A on everything and I will definitely be using them again very soon, but not quite as soon as I like.
Description of Work: I used Heritage Renovations LLC from October through December and they did a complete bathroom renovation.

It was a pleasure doing business with the members. They are very nice people and we enjoyed working with them. The member has severe allergies, so we brought in an air evacuation system to vent the dust and paint fumes out of their home. We built custom cabinets for their bathroom and assisted them with selecting new tile, paint color, a new bathtub and other fixtures, granite, hardware and lighting. They were very satisfied with the remodeling project. The members are more than our clients, they have become our friends as well. We look forward to working them again!
