Green Country

Derek "checked out" the ice maker, said it needed a part, a part he would have to order and charged us $180 and said he would call when the part was in. We had no reason not to trust him.When we didn't hear back, we started calling him. He finally returned a call and said the part was in and set a time to come back. He came back with a part, fiddled around in the ice maker and said it would start making ice in no time. It didn't. When my husband checked it he found the part had not been connected to the ice maker. The calls started again. FINALLY he answered and tried to tell me how to "just plug it in". I told him we wanted him to install the part we paid for. Said he would run by later in the week. Never heard from him. Can't reach him. Phone now just goes to voice mail message that mailbox is full, can't leave message. After examining his business card, it only has his first name, no last name and the company name Green Country, no address, only his phone number. Those are 2 red flags I should have caught. Also, that $180 check was not to be made out to him but to a female. It was cashed immediately. On his website, there is only his first name and a phone number. There are also 2 positive feedbacks which I'm willing to bet are fake ones written by Derek. After doing some checking we called another repair person to fix the ice maker. We learned the part sitting in the bottom of the machine was not needed, but several other obvious repairs were. It's now working. So, the moral of this story is DO NOT USE GREEN COUNTRY run by an incompetent named Derek, last name unknown!!!
