Service call cost was about $99 to tell me i needed a new compressor. Paid about $1000 for compressor replacement labor, part was under warranty. Found a leak. Paid $250 for evaporator coil replacement on the next visit. Part was under warranty. They found a potential valve issue too, but repaired at no cost. Previous year had paid greater than $200 on same unit because it stopped working. They recharged it but found no problem. This unit was installed by them in 2006. I was frustrated by repeat visits for the same unit, with new problems each time. I was also frustrated with a total of $2000 in repairs on an $18,000 install only 4 years old. The technician was very polite and professional. The service manager(s), though very hard to reach, worked with me on the price, so I did receive discounts. I did wait several days for a call back because the service manager was out of office.
Description of Work: AC would not turn on, first visit was a service check, determined new compressor needed. On this date compressor was replaced. After replacement, found evaporator coil had leak, requiring replacement

We have used this company for the past 16 years. They perform 2 maintenance visits per year by contract. I think they do pretty good work, they have always been responsive and fixed the problem. It seems like lately they are much more interested in selling additional services, such as duct cleaning and new units than they were in the past. Maybe it is because my unit is getting older and nearer needing replacement. Overall I have been satisfied with their technicians and will continue to use them.
Description of Work: Routine maintenance service, replace capacitor, remove and clean blower on the heating unit.

Friday morning my heater started making an extremely loud noise. I shut it off and immediately called the Company that installed the system. To their credit, the immediately sent a tech. He told me that my air filter was in the wrong place. I explained that NONE of his colleagues ever told me that my filter was in the wrong place. I explained when the system is serviced twice a year, the filter is put where I currently had mine. He recommended that I have the blower cleaned. I agreed. After he cleaned the blower and turned on the system it was making a different noise, certainly not as loud as the original noise but still a loud noise. He said that's because the filter is in the correct place. He left and the system ran for one full hour before it turned off. I called the company and he said it shouldn't take an hour but since it went off to call back if it continued. Well, it did continue. When it would come on, it would run at least an hour. Finally at 4:00 AM it came on and did NOT go off and was not heating the house. I decided to call another company to get another opinion on the problem. He came out, changed the filter and not only is the loud noise gone but the system is heating my house and is not running for an hour.
Description of Work: Cleaned the blower and moved the filter.

If you can actually schedule service, they're not bad, but I have had horrible luck with scheduling. The internet scheduling service does not work. Their phone representatives aren't local. When you can reach them, they tell you that the next available appointment is more than a month away. Simply awful customer service.

For the most part, they?ve been pretty good but they were somebody different when we came here, and they merged 2 or 3 times, and I?m not so sure that I am as impressed as I was 15 years ago, or even 10 years ago. We have two full units, one up and one down, and I think the price is close to $200 for twice a year. I don?t know about their price because I have no idea what anyone else charges. Years ago, they were a little lax and they didn?t do what they needed to. I actually filled out a form from them and sent it in, and I felt that they were far more responsive and on the ball this year. I would probably continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: We have been using Service Experts for as long as we’ve lived here. We’ve actually purchased equipment from them, and they come twice a year and inspect it.

Service man was courteous and knowledgeable. Advised me to wait for further problems rather than replacing an expensive aging part since he expected the entire A/C unit would need to be replaced soon. A bit pushy about getting me to sign an ongoing contract (I did not). The person who scheduled the visit over the phone put me on the routine inspection list even though I told her I wanted the inspection because I suspected a problem. This meant I waited about a month from the call. Be very clear about what you want when scheduling. The service man was the best I've ever experienced (and I've had quite a bit of experience). It was the office staff who didn't listen well.
Description of Work: Did an inspection of the air conditioning system, cleaned parts, explained (and showed me) weaknesses in the 12 year old system, added Freon, provided replacement filter.

The gentleman I spoke with was professional sounding on the phone. He checked the A/C unit at my house in Norman and told me that the problem with the unit was a bad compressor motor. He said that it would run 400.00 dollars to get it fixed and that it would be done by Monday (this was a Thursday that we spoke). I told him to hold off on that repair because I wasn't able to talk to my normal A/C guy who usually takes care of these things for me. The guy apologized said that I'd have to pay for the diagnostic which seemed fair to me. When Bill went out the next day and checked my unit, he informed me that the compressor was fine but that the run capacitor had quit. He charged me 195.00 for the part, labor and diagnostic all together. If I had followed the Service "Experts" suggestions I would have spent over 500.00 dollars for the part, the labor, and the diagnostic all together. Given how incorrect the diagnosis was and how ridiculous the cost to repair it was, I would not be surprised to have a company quote me the motor and labor, and only have changed the run capacitor. I will never recommend these guys to anyone. They are what make customers of the heat and air industry cautious and mistrust repair men.

They came out the very next morning to install the new one. We have used them several times trying to nurse this old unit. They always fix the problem and they respond so quickly. We have been so happy with their service.
Description of Work: They replaced our old air conditioning unit. A lot of the stuff was not up to code so they had to redo the drain lines. They disposed of the old unit for us. They had to pull out the furnace to do everything so it took longer than they thought.

My initial call was taken quickly by a friendly employee. The tech that came to my house on a Saturday, Jay, was professional and courteous. He arrived within the time specified. He worked quickly and efficiently and answered my questions. My house is now cool in the heat of summer again. The experience was good from start to finish.
Description of Work: My AC was not cooling like it did in prior years. The system operated but didn't cool the house like it should. The tech checked my HVAC system and added freon.

I was extremely dissatisfied with the lack of effort on resolution of my problem. I called them and received a window for a technician to give me an estimate for replacing my water heater. When they didn't show up, I called the next day and talked to someone else who assured me that I would be contacted. All of my information was given to the company, again. Later the same day, after not hearing from them, I called back and talked to a third person. This person told me that the company had no record at all of anyone being sent to my house for an estimate although they did have my contact information. The only thing they did tell me was that it wasn't their fault. There was no apology or attempt at reconciliation. I can honestly say that I have never had a company treat me in this manner before, and rest assured that I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Description of Work: There were no services performed as I would not allow them after speaking with them over the phone.

Have had problems for two or three years, getting these people to call me on my cell phone to let me know the service person is on the way; they call me on my home phone, which doesn't help much when I'm at work. As usual, I called them first thing in the morning and sure enough, they had the wrong number. I told them to call my cell, and they told me they were putting the number in the computer. I've heard that before, so I called again early afternoon to verify that they had the right number, but no; again with the home line. They put me through to the local dispatcher, and she said that their *local* phone number was answered by people in Florida who "don't care anything about what's happening here." When the service person finally showed up, he spent more than 20 minutes going on and on (and on) about politics before he started to work, even though I stopped responding or paying attention to him after the first five minutes or so. It made me very uncomfortable.
Description of Work: Performed annual maintenance on my A/C (which they installed a few years ago) and replaced a couple of electronic parts. Looked for a problem (leak, backup) with condensation drain, but couldn't find it, as it was too dry this early in the season. (I had them look for this problem last fall when my carpet was totally soaked, but they didn't fix it then, either.) The service person told me that some kind of drain access had not been installed, and I told him that *they* were the ones who installed the system, so if something isn't right, they're the ones who did it wrong. I won't be using their services again, so I am not going to pursue it, at least not with them.

From the time I moved into this house (built 1963) in 2000 I would need to have freon added to the air conditioning system every summer. This was my mother's house before I moved in, so I used the Service Experts because she did. They told me that there was a leak in the system, most likely under the house, and it would probably cost about $2,000 to find and fix it. They recommended continuing to add freon when needed because the leak was slow and doing so was cheaper. After about four years of this I used a different service because Gordon's could not come out in a reasonable amount of time. I have not had to add freon since then. Needless to say I have not used Gordon's since. I used an independent serviceman to fix my furnace last year and he told me that leaving a small leak in the freon line is not an uncommon practice to generate regular business.

They sent someone out very quickly--within two hours of my call. He looked over the A/C unit and checked the air filter. Discovered it was clogged. Told us to leave the unit off for a couple of hours and then turn it back on with a clean filter. We just paid the service call fee, which was $85. The next day it conked out again, so they sent another guy out, but did not charge us another service fee. This guy discovered that the furnace filter was clogged, and rather than charging us $95 to clean it, he told my husband what to do and didn't charge us for anything. My husband cleaned the filter with a wire brush and we were back in business.

The man from Gregorys arrived on a Monday morning as arranged and diagnosed that the vent needed to be snaked out. He quoted me a price of $160 for the work and promised he would return by 8:00 on Tuesday to do the work. That was the last I heard from him, he never called, he never came back. Steer clear of this one.
Description of Work: He was supposed to snake out the vent pipe on the roof of my house.

Ive already hired Gregorys Plumbing to do another job on some rental houses for me. They were prompt and even gave me blue prints of my new piping.

I didn't have any complaints about Gordons Heating. It was just an inspection, so there really wasn't much they could have done wrong. But they were here on time, were very professional about it, and the price wasn't to bad. I know my A/C will work for the summer.

I am very happy with Service Experts. They always do a good job. This company could be a little bit more organized. They have come out a couple of times without filters and they have had to make a special trip back out here.
