My husband called because of a hissing sound coming from our bathroom wall. A technician came out and immediately told my husband he knew what the problem was. He replaced some things on the toilet. He told my husband he was done. My husband went in the bathroom and informed the technician that there was still a hissing sound. The technician leaned toward the wall and said that it was coming from the hot water line and not the cold water line. He informed my husband that nothing was wrong but it was probably someone running sprinklers outside causing the issue. My husband let him leave and hoped that the technician was right. I get home 4 hours later and there is still a faint hissing sound coming from behind our shower wall. My husband tells me what happened and he calls back. He talks with a rep on the phone and, at our insistence, she assures us we won't be charged another call fee because the technician DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. Additionally, we're not even sure there was a problem with the toilet in the first place. We ask for a different technician and she tells us it will have to be Monday if we want someone else. Finally we accept that we will get the same technician and ask her to send him out again. Fast forward to an hour later. I get a call from a man informing me he got a call saying our AIR CONDITIONER was broken. I was confused and I explain the whole 2 minute story to the man on the phone. He replies, "Oh, so you need a plumber?" Yes, I do. He tells me he will call the service company back, because he's an A/C guy. Another 30 minutes later I am SO FRUSTRATED that I am writing this review, while the mysterious water source is hissing behind my bathroom wall. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon. I will update my review if/when my issues are resolved. I wish I had been home so my husband did not call Gordon's Service Experts. :( I don't believe we will be doing business with them again. I have yet to dispute a charge on my credit card, but I think I may consider my options...
Description of Work: We were billed for "rebuild toilet, replace fill valve and flapper" and Saturday service. We called because of a hissing behind the bathroom wall.

i was seeking bids to cool our entire home for a new a/c unit and evaporator coil plus adding new duct to a 10ftx15ft room and service experts gave me a great bid on a Lennox SEER 14...3 ton unit of $5025 for EVERYTHING INSTALLED. Plus service experts promised to use all copper in the entire installation, since other companies may just use plastic. I am going over the bids with my spouse and proudly sure we will go with the guys/girls at service experts.
Description of Work: i was seeking bids to cool our entire home for a new a/c unit and evaporator coil plus adding new duct to a 10ftx15ft room and service experts gave me a great bid on a Lennox SEER 14...3 ton unit of $5025 for EVERYTHING INSTALLED. It has always gone well with there service. They are always on time day or night. I have used there service for four years and counting. I would recommended there services to anyone. Excellent service.
Description of Work: yearly service changed filter and pressure on unit and amp's and cleaned condensing. I have a platinum plan with them with I pay $190.00 or so a year that covers everything.

My experience with them went pretty well. I have used them multiple times. I feel like every time they came out they were able to come out within a twenty-four hour period. Their pricing was pretty good. My only problem is they would have different people come out every time, but I believe that's because they are kind of on call. That's how they respond to calls. But overall my experience with them has been good. They were able to come out at night sometimes. They have extended hours. Knowledgeable technicians. One thing that made me really comfortable is they always came in a company van so you knew it was them it wasn't just somebody coming in a random car.
Description of Work: Gordon's Service Experts did an air conditioner recharge, changing a part or something similar to that.

I can't recommend them. They came out and did some work and charged me and then a little bit after that, the A/C went back out again. I decided to call somebody else and when another company came out, they looked at it and found a lot more damage and of course they were a lot more expensive, but they got the job done right. It's a bunch of bumped wires and stuff. Gordon's just came out and charged me to see it and said it was okay. The service person who came out said there is a lot more than that so they went ahead and replaced a lot of parts. It is now much better and it works. The price was kind of expensive for what they do. I used them before for plumbing. They came in and they were going to run another line. I thought it was around $600-$700 and they said it was $2,000. During the process, they broke through the sealant and when they did that, they cut the price a thousand. I won't use them anymore.

I have a special plan with them, and I have been using them for about 25 years. They have bought in other companies and made themselves larger. If you are part of their plan where they come in and check your work, there is no fee for anything except part. If you have problems, like I had a pipe break, and they had to come in, they sent their plumbers out. They have plumbers and electricians, and you don't pay anything additional. I have seen them coming out in half an hour, because I am a member. They will come next month to tune up the air conditioner. I have had them put in new gas lines put in, and they put in both the 220 lines and 110 lines, so if my wife wanted a microwave or a commercial oven, she can have it. They do just about everything that you want. If you need it, they will finance it. They keep track of you on the computer, and they will tell you when your service is coming up. They will change the filters for you, and they will come out and show it to you, and if you don't need it, they will clean it up and put it back, and tell you how long it will last.
Description of Work: We use Gordon's Service Experts. They came for a winter tune up in September.

It seemed to go okay. Now my AC isn't getting as cold, just like every year, even though they come out and perform preventive maintenance. I guess that's the nature of owning your own home though, not anything to do with their service.

I have used this company for several years in the maintenance of the heating and A/C unit. The service and pricing has been satisfactory. A checkup was overdue before winter, but they had not made a scheduled call. I called and they advised it would be after first of year before they could get to it. About a week later, a tech called and said he was on the way for the checkup. He came into the house and went directly to the unit. He spent about five minutes probing and checking and then announced that there was a serious problem. He showed his mirror and said many black spots were holes, or nearly holes. He said he could not turn the unit back on. He said I could. He said if he turned the unit back on he would have to call ONG and have the gas cut off. He made no other checks of the unit, did not use meter to determine if there was carbon monoxide leaks. He said he could call for a supervisor to come and prepare an estimate for replacement. He went to his truck and in less than fifteen (15) minutes, a person came. He did not look at the unit, but prepared an estimate for new unit. They left. There is absolutely no way that a sales agent could have appeared so rapidly, on a Saturday afternoon, without this having been preplanned before the tech came out. Another company was called for second opinion. The tech spent over an hour checking the unit and found no holes. Black spots were potential problems but nothing serious. He placed a meter on the register and found only 4 parts per million escape. He said the unit could go out at any time, but there was no danger in continued use at the present time.
Description of Work: Came for a check-up of my heater for winter. The tech made short examination of the furnace unit and advised that the unit was leaking carbon monoxide and he could not turn it back on. He charged for his service call.

Terribly. Rude tech, more rude and obnoxious supervisor at office.
Description of Work: Having dealt with the Heat and A/C division of this company, I called on the plumbing division for a minor leak under the sink in my bathroom. I normally do this type of repair myself, but had just had a hip replacement. The tech came out and I told him where/what the problem was. I made the mistake of trusting them and did not get an estimate before starting the work. After being inside my residence for thirty-six minutes (36) he presented me a bill for $308.96. I blew my stack and told him I knew exactly what the parts cost as I had bought them retail. I asked him why I was being charged such outrageously for use of my parts. He said that was his instructions from the office. I also told him how long it would have taken me to perform the job. He informed me that was the cost, and there was nothing I could do about it. The itemized bill shows: Diagnostic charge $67.96; 1 water tank flapper $74.00; 1 flush seal $40; 1angle stop w/supply $122.00. In over 70 years of performing maintenance on my houses, I have never paid over $15.00 for a flapper/seal combination. I had already purchased the parts to repair the leak under the sink and he used my parts. My cost for the parts, $22.50. There was no diagnostic time/cost as I told him specifically what/where the problems were. I later complained to the office and was rudely informed that he had techs to pay and trucks to pay for and everything charged was fair market value. When informed the tech used my parts and charged me again, he said my parts were cheap and the tech installed better quality parts.

We feel this company's management is dishonest, and will ltry to majorly overcharge you for equipment and services you do not need. Some of their technicians were okay, but they always found "bigger problems", and always tried to 'sell up'. The last straw was when one of their so-called 'experts' named Ernie told us we needed $30,000 worth of new HVAC equipment, and there was no other option. We told him to take a hike. Air Comfort Solutions came to our rescue, and installed new equipment for under $10,000. We will NEVER do business with Service Experts again, and wish we had 'wised up' years earlier! BEWARE!
Description of Work: For many years we used this company for heating & air conditioning, and plumbing services. We bought furnaces & air conditioners & toilets from them. We also had them do routine service as needed.

My water heater is old and had to be re-lit. That was the problem. They fixed the gas leak easily.
Description of Work: I had a gas leak in my back yard. It was below ground so it had to be dug our to reach the leak. Scott and his helper were friendly and efficient. The only problem was they had to re-light my hot water heater. It is old and "tricky"( I've been told) so it never would kick in after the pilot was re-lit so I spend a couple of frantic days calling for prices on a heater and installation. It is in a cabinet over my washer and installation costs a mint. I finally fixed it myself. It was on a low flame but had to turned up. I don't blame them. It is probably older than they are, It will be replaced as soon as I can.

My heat went off and I called the Service Experts. The technician, Charles, was great. He was polite and respectful of my concern about the cold and not getting it fixed until after the week end. He went out of his way to get it fixed. I don't know if the price was fair or not but the technician was far better than any repairman I have had to deal with in a long time. (That includes car repairmen, body shops, plumbers and car salesmen.)
Description of Work: Identified the problem and tried to repair the part until a new part came ino no avail. Ordered a new part, a Co detectot inducer motor/ assembly.

I had them for years, and the service was just uneven; some of their technicians were great, but others weren’t so great. I had a service contract with them, but because they’re unpredictable, I will go with someone else. Their prices are higher than anybody’s, and their service is not that great.
Description of Work: They were my regular maintenance company for my heating and a/c system. The last visit was a check-up.

They didn't install it correctly. They had to come back and re install it and cut holes in the roof for ventilation. This left me without A/C for about 3 weeks in about 100 degree weather. I would stay away. I call them the world's worst.
Description of Work: They were suppossed to install heat pump. It is a central unit for central air.

Six months after they installed the unit, the whole thing had to be torn out. They had only replaced the ductwork that was visible. They cut corners and left all the old ductwork after charging me $1600 for all new ductwork. The plenum even had rust spots, making it obvious that it was the old plenum. The blower speed was set incorrectly and the air was blowing so forcefully that the condensation water was being blown out of the collection pan. This brought on mold problems that should never have happened because all of my ducts were holding water. The owner came out and bent over backwards to try to make it up to me because he realized that this could result in a lawsuit. He was going to just walk away from it until he saw my pictures and video that I had taken. Then he offered to upgrade me to the highest quality unit and redo all the duct work for no extra fees. I was apprehensive because of the mess that they had left behind before. I called another company that recommended I contact a local city inspector. He said I should give them a second chance. They sent out commercial installers instead of the regular home installation team. This team did a good job, but in the meantime I had to get CAT scans on my lungs and suffered health problems that should never have happened.
Description of Work: They installed a new A/C & furnace units and all new floor ductwork.

They are very good. I have used them for years. Their price is competitive. They are clean. They don’t try to sell you anything. They speak to you on your own terms. I rate them high overall. These people know my system and make recommendations to make my home more energy efficient.

I am not real happy with this company. The business is not the same as it was 20 years ago. The man that did the service work did a good job, just did not like the selling tactics.
Description of Work: They replaced a relay switch on the air conditioning unit. I did end up getting a new unit from another company. I did this since Gordon's gave me an estimate, I told him what unit I would take since it qualified for the rebate since it was a heat pump and the price went up $1000 and I told him no thank you.

We installed Lennox, and they told us we?d get an $800 rebate for using that brand. I had to call them three times in order to get that rebate. The excuse for that was because Lennox was behind on these rebates, and this company let me know they'd call me back once Lennox was up-to-date, but then it was difficult for them to call me back. In the end, we did get that rebate. The salesman was nice and the service was good. I'm not incredibly fond of the financing company (GE Money), but we paid them a downpayment, and they finance the balance of $11,000. We're planning to transfer this over to our credit union. We're satsifed with what we got. We installed a unit that would suck out allergens as well, and it does work. I'm satisfied with their services overall.
