Fox Brick & Stone Masonry Service specializes in all types of brick, stone, stucco, sidewalk and patio repair. This includes any damage from vehicle impact, spaulding, settling, crumbling, lightning strikes, hail, water damage or any other masonry related problems. We strive to maintain the original "curb appeal of the structure", by minimizing the appearance of "being repaired, rebuilt or patched" with longevity and aesthetics being the "primary goal and base theme" on our projects. Fox Brick & Stone also strives to use "made in U.S.A." products and will only use "American Citizens" on our projects.

We specialize in Masonry Brick & Stone Repair and General Masonry projects, including smaller jobs, Residential and Commercial. Our work relates to all types of Brick, Natural Stone, Block, retaining wall or cast stone masonry project and coinciding trades work related to the project, such as one "contractor desired insurance repairs".
The project went great...they provided an estimate, did the work in a few days, and it looks better than it did before. They used a high-grade aluminum mailbox that should last a long time. There was a small issue with the light not working after the project was completed, but Wayne came out and fixed it and made some improvements in case maintenance is needed in the future. Overall I would definitely hire Fox Brick & Stone again.

Great... I had bids from 5 companies but Wayne with Fox was the most helpful and informative. A friend had also used Fox for their chimney repair and highly recommended them. My chimney and a portion of another exterior brick wall were in severe disrepair and breaking apart. I was concerned it would "looked patched". Not true... Even my neighbors are impressed.. You can't tell where the repairs were made! If I need masonry work in the future.. Fox will be my first call.

The repair occurred just as we were advised- and the brick replacement matched wonderfully. It is difficult to find a mason to do a "small" job. We were very pleased to have the problem fixed, and our fireplace repaired and back in use!

From the moment I first talked with Mr. Wayne Null of Fox Brick he was extremely friendly and professional. He gave me the basics of what was needed during that call, and after I had emailed him the insurance information for the drunk driver, he assumed full responsibility for working with the driver's insurance company. From that first phone call I did virtually nothing except authorize Mr. Null to proceed with whatever work was needed to complete the project. After the insurance was vetted, he sent me and the insurance company a full statement of services to be performed. I authorized work to proceed by email, and within less than three days the work was completely finished. He not only replaced the old unit but actually improved it by replacing the older style metal mailbox, which has rusted out, with an aluminum unit that will never rust. The quality of the work is superb. We are extremely pleased not only with the final product but with the outstanding service provided by Wayne, his staff, and the entire company. We give them our highest recommendation. Fox Brick is a first-class company providing superior service.
Description of Work: Fox Brick replaced a brick column in which is placed out mailbox by the side of the street. A drunk drive demolished the mailbox one Saturday morning, leveling it all the way to the foundation and scattering debris all over our front yard. Fox Brick replaced the entire unit for us.

I was extremely pleased with the work completed. The repair to the extensively displaced and cracked brickwork at the front of the house can't be detected. Soldier bricks from the back of the house replaced those that were cracked and were themselves replaced with close matching bricks. The mortar erosion was quite extensive in many places around the house. This crumbling mortar was removed and replaced with new material which closely matched the original filling. Movement of the soil also caused cracks above the garage doors, below a window and from ground to eaves on one wall. Expansion joints were installed after stabilizing foundation work was completed. It has been a year since the job was finished and I still remain grateful and pleased with the work done. Attention to detail, professionalism and removal of debris after completion was much appreciated.
Description of Work: Repaired impact damage to the brick work at the front of the house. Installed expansion and contraction control joint at four areas where cracked movement was evident. Also tuck pointed missing mortar around the perimeter of the house.

Spoke with him about getting estimate on chimney repair. He stated he wanted to look at it but it took him about two weeks to look at it and I had to contact him several times to see if he had been by. When he finally gave me a estimate that was 3 times more than what other contractor gave me. He did seem knowledgeable. How ever I opted to use different service provider due to expense and slow response.

To my knowledge , I have never spoken with a Ms. [Member name] about this or any other project. I have spoken with a Ms. [Member name] a few times, about a problem at this same address concerning the "stone veneer falling out of a chimney". Ms. [Member name] called me, and after discussing what was happening, sent me some pictures via email. After reviewing them I spoke with her again, and told her that I needed to work it in my schedule to take a time to drop by to see more accurately what was happening and why. I did make the trip out and discovered that the chimney was constructed "hollow with only stone veneer for the sides". Also that this same said area where the stones were falling off, had been repaired at the very same spot before, and was smeared with masonry cement. In addition, the area had not been cleaned properly after the repair. I gave her our price for the repair as requested. I should say, that I certainly hope that her selected contractor does her a better job, than the previous one did. Much better to apologize for price, rather that poor quality of work, that never goes away and repeatedly comes back each time you look at it. An apology is in order for Mrs. [Member name] with which, I was fortunate enough to meet on 5-9-15 and whom seemed to be a very nice busy lady. I did take the time to drive to the far North side of Edmond Oklahoma that rainy afternoon to her home, and to take a look at her outside fireplace that had cracked due to an unusually large fire, which created an excessive heat situation. Normally that would not be a problem on a masonry fireplace, but if the steel damper was not insulated correctly upon the initial construction, and it expands to much from the heat, it will crack out the masonry as it flexes and expands out, which it did in her situation. Also I did speak to with her as to why and what needed to be done to re-mediate the problem. I hope that some of my insight and information helped her in having some knowledge in picking another contractor to do the repair, and that their repair has as much longevity built into it, as that ours would have had. I regularly do get behind on returning my phone calls. If it happens, most folks are nice enough to give me a call back to check on the proposal, as I usually have already done the figuring for the bid (now you know what I do on most of my late evenings !). Hopefully it does not happen, but, if the new repair fails, and it needs to be repaired again (15% of our work on an average, is redoing failed or bad looking repairs), just give me a call, and I will try to be more timely with my information feed back next time. Thank You
Randy W.

It went' well. The brick mason who did the work was there daily. At the end of the day, he took photos of completed work and sent them to the owner. The brick mason was thorough and was very careful not to cause damage to our gardens that are next to the house. Also careful to close the gate so dogs couldn't get out.

The price was slightly higher than I had expected, but Wayne was responsive and I did get a discount for supplying the bricks and the mailbox I wanted to use. That was worth something to me. Excellent quality mailbox. Finished location was 70' from location of my old mailbox. Not where I wanted, but too late to change by the time I realized it and I decided I could get used to it. I would do business again and recommend Wayne Null and his company. And no credit cards - plan to pay by check.

Was quoted around $7000 to fix my archway. However when I asked for an email containing the estimated quote, he freaked out wanting to know who was going to look at the quote. Said he would send one, but never did. Sorry but we are in 2014, and if you can not send an email containing the estimated quote then something is wrong. Also not sure why he was weirded out by my request to send one... a little sketchy there. Also, I think it's very unprofessional to give a quote by my cell phone pictures only.

Response from FOX BRICK & STONE MASONRY SERVICE
Many people who call Fox Brick & Stone Masonry Service , are just wanting solid honest, "general information" about a masonry issue they are encountering. I field several of these calls, each and every day, personally. I do diligently try to provide good candid non bias "free information" to those callers as best I can, of course, and especially "Angie's List" members, as I did in the case with this lady. Most times, I can get a "pretty clear indication what is going on from the conversation and sometimes with "hopefully a few pictures" as the problems I see are generally repetitive issues that I see over and over. After spending the time to talk to her and review her information and pictures , I gave her the information she asked for. I always try to give people a good ideal of the cost of a "major repair" which she has, before wasting their time as well as mine. As mentioned before, on "Angie's List", I don't minding spending my time to give a free detailed "written estimate" if we are actually going to be doing that project for a client. But they are very time consuming, and a thought provoking legal document, so I don't take them lightly as they are binding once I give them out. I do and will send a quick "email without a lot detail" with those figures for most any reason, since they do not require a lot of time. As I always try to do, I did give, and inform her a good cost estimate, and told her that if she wanted to actually move forward with the project, I would be happy to do that paperwork for her. She indicated she just wanted "some detailed paperwork". A large number of people with whom I speak with, only want paper work for various reasons. Since my documents are not just a brochure, but rather, legal binding documents, I avoid that unless we are again, "going to be "actually doing the project for them". This member has a "Arch that is cracked, which is a structural issue" and generally requires an invasive significant repair, that we are, to my limited knowledge are the only masonry repair company that actually repairs them correctly. These are done so that the issue does not come back to haunt the client over and over. Also we are one of the very few masonry's company's, that has been around long enough to put a warranty on them, that actually means something and has some residual value and significance. But these type of repairs are not an easy quick patch process, and so there for, expensive, at least to my relative opinion. If this member is ready for that expense and repair please, feel free to contact me again and I will be happy to start, that process of remediation of her damaged Arch. Thank You Wayne

I took advantage of the free consultation listed on Angie's List. Wayne took the time to talk to me, look at pictures that I e-mailed him of my house, sent me pictures of similar jobs he had done that addressed those issues, told me what my options were, and suggested a product to try on my own. My husband and I did use the product that he suggested and it worked great on an expansion joint where the masonry was crumbling on the exterior of our house. A year later and it still looks great. I will definitely call them for future masonry jobs.

I have "dragged my feet on this reply" to this Angies list members negative review, hoping they would take the same time they used to lash out, and acknowledge that I did make the trip out to the outer OKC rim, where they live, to look at the masonry cracks, she had asked me to look at. Guess not. Since she identified herself as a Angies list member, I did take a considerable amount of time on the initial phone call to talk to her and explain to her some of the regular issues I see on some newer homes as she mentioned to me that her home was less than a year old. In this situation, I did make "Two (2) free bid trips, myself to this outer rim of Oklahoma City's limits edge" (with a Yukon mailing address). I was asked to look at cracks in the masonry the member had mentioned which were reflected in my notes "as cracks on the front of the house". Unfortunately this new house is in a brand new neighborhood that does not "show up or come up" (Keswick street) on any of my mapping software (Google maps is what I usually use). After driving and looking for approximately 30 plus minutes the first time, with the sun setting at the end of a day, looking for the house, I decided to come back another day, and "called off" my search of her home. There had "not" been an exact appointment time made that I was be expected there, and as I told her I should be there in the next few days, as I got in that area, as a rule weekly. On 5-5-14 I was in that area again, and did find this "new street" after doing some exploring. I Knocked on the front door and did meet her husband (who was very cordial and polite guy, that mentioned that UPS and FedEx drivers making delivery's struggle trying to find this street also). The lady member I spoke with was "out of town" and not there and could not be raised on the phone. Her husband and I did see some minor cracks where brick went over the roof without masonry or steel support under them, but only in two small areas. We (her husband and I) looked at their, One (1) year old new home together and could not see exactly what the lady member had indicated to me was reason she wanted me to come to give her a bid for masonry repair work. What I did find was a lot of very recent bad (mortar did not match and was not cleaned correctly) repairs, but what appeared to me that was a bigger issue, was all of the problematic design flaws that I saw in the construction of this new house. After taking pictures, and mentioning along with pointing a few of the future probable places, where there will be some cracking as the years go by, and most likely in the not too distant future, I left my card, so the lady could contact me again if she wanted to. She did not. Also what I did found out was that there had been several lawsuits against the builder by several of the home owners on this new street, and more were pending including this member as well. What I did wrong: I should have called the member when I first could not find her house, no excuse for that on my part, I thought that I would be back in the area within a few days, I was not. Also there was not a "hard time appointment", only that I would drop by and take a look at the masonry damage for her. In closing: I do give free bids on actual prospective projects, and happy to do that if I need to. These days sometimes email pictures are enough information. Besides it allows me to get to meet a lot on really neat people here in Oklahoma. But, I don't do “free” legal work, inspections, consulting, expert witness or mediation work (there an hourly charge for that when I do that type of service) and nor do I do free paperwork for projects that we are not actually going to do the work on. I do offer that services, but as mentioned there is an hourly charge for that. I am a masonry repair contractor first and foremost, as that is what I enjoy doing. I try to excel at that service, as to the best as my ability from my years of experience and knowledge in doing this type of work. Thank You Wayne
