Technician diagnosed the problem quickly; explained it in terms I understood, including cost; made the repair; confirmed all was working properly; and cleaned up afterward. He clearly knew his subject and was professional, not wasting my time or his. I definitely recommend Fireside Concepts.

I am a do-it-yourself person. I usually only contract out work that needs a licensed contractor like a plumber or electrician. I recently decided to replace my old wood burning fireplace insert with a new one. So I began by trying to get information from the online stores. They weren't really any help because they didn't know local code. So I made calls to several of the local fireplace stores all of which were pretty competitive on pricing but I wasn't really having much luck getting guidance on doing it myself, as most of them wanted to install the system for me. I called Fireplace Express and Crystal answered the phone. Now Crystal doesn't install the systems and didn't really know how to answer my questions, but she did the next best thing. She took my number down and called Jason "The Owner". After a while she called me back and told me Jason would be in the office in about 45 minutes and I could come down and talk to him about my questions. When I met with Jason, he told me all about the different types of fireplace systems from wood burning to vent less. He told me the pros and cons on all of them and didn't really try to sell me on this one or that one. He just talked to me about them. Now for my house I chose the vent less system because I don't want 15' feet of stovepipe sticking out the front of my house. The next day I came back and picked up the fireplace that I chose and while I was there, one of there installers was there picking up materials for a job he was headed out to do. He gave me his card and told me to give him a call if I had any more questions. Which I did, several times as a matter of fact. He was great, he answered his phone every time I called and gave me the advice that I needed. It has been a real pleasure working with these guys. I would highly recommend them whether you are a do-it-yourself person or you want the job done by a professional.

However I decided to replace it with a gas fireplace for the cleanliness and convenience. This is something I have never done before, so I began looking for guidance. I called a couple of the online retailers which weren't really any help at all because they didn't know our local code. So I started calling some of the local retailers and although they were very competitive price wise. Most just seemed to be interested in doing the install themselves and reluctant to give me advice. I called Fireside Concepts and Crystal answered the phone. She was very friendly and wanted to help but didn't know the answers to my questions, so she asked for my number and called her husband Jason. Jason oversees the installations of their jobs. Once she talked to Jason she called me back and told me Jason would be there around lunch and if I wanted to come down and talk to him, he would be happy to answer my questions. I made the trip and Jason was a great source of information. He explained the different types of fireplace options from wood burning to vent-less along with the pros and cons of each. He wasn't trying to sell me on this one or that one. He just simply talked about them all and let me decide which one best fit my needs. He also explained the process of installing it in my home and even referred a good plumber (Red Plains Plumbing) that was fair and honest with his service and pricing to run the gas line to the fireplace. I now have my new fireplace installed and just have to do the framing and finish work to have a completed job. Jason and Crystal Clow are really great people to do business with and I would highly recommend them whether you are a do-it-yourself person, a contractor, or someone that wants a complete job.
