Dickson's Painting

Daniel came and did a great job. This is the 5th time we have used him. He scraped, textured and painted our ceiling and walls in the dining room and kitchen. In the dining room he had to remove wallpaper. He preped and painted the walls in our hallways, and 2 bedrooms. The price included the cost of the paint. Labor was $1600. He did a great job and the quality of both the texture and painting is excellent.

To begin, I searched "Drywall" on Angie's List and Daniel Dickson with Dickson's Painting came up first on the list. His posting reads exactly this. "Popcorn Removal, Woodwork Cabinets Trims and Doors, Drywall Repair, Texture work, Faux Finishing, Residential and Commercial, New construction and Remodels" I called Daniel last week and he set an appointment for this morning (08/18/2014) at 0700. He was a few minutes late but not bad and then parked in my neighbor?s driveway. I mentioned they could be leaving any time and he disregarded the comment and said "He'd be gone before they are up.", then left his vehicle sitting there. We went in the garage to check on the work that needed done which was re-screwing some sheetrock that was loose and redoing some drywall tape and mud. There are many reviews that mentioned much more involved sheetrock work than this and his posting says he does "Drywall Repair" and "new construction and remodels" and I described the work over the phone when we set the appointment. After looking at my 20' x 20' garage that needed about 25% of the drywall tape redone he told me he is a painter and only does "Patchwork." I told him that "It sure would have been nice to know before setting an appointment for 7AM on Monday morning at a rent house before work." I was kind of rude but I was very frustrated about the massive waste of time. He needs to advertise correctly on Angie's list so Customers can find the contractors they need the first time. He was not very professional with me.

Dan did a beautiful job painting our house. He was punctual and provided us with an immediate service so we could get moved back into our home. We had tenants living in our home for 3 years and they left us with a big mess. It was heartbreaking to say the least. Dan quickly came to our aid and provided us with a very fair price and did a fantastic job. Dan took the worry out of our move back In on such short notice. Talk about service. Thank you so much. We will definitely use Dan again.

Dan and helper did another great job. They restored our deteriorating garage ceiling by scraping off the old texture and then retexturing and painting the ceiling. They also painted all the walls in our inside laundry room, which included replacing some sheetrock and patching on one of the walls. They also put some new dryer legs on our dryer, while it was moved out of the room. They did a very professional job in both areas and cleaned up very well.

David was very nice to work with. He was careful with anything he needed to move, and he did excellent quality work. He was very friendly, but still professional, and he was more than happy to share his knowledge and expertise, even at the risk of losing future work opportunities because he taught me several painting techniques that I would have been afraid to try on my own. He started on time and finished on time, so his estimates are pretty-darn spot-on. We plan to have him return for more work in the near future. My only complaint isn't really his fault other than he may need to start thinking about taking on an apprentice -- Angie's List has made him so busy that he's booked way in advance.

I am in the process of laying new flooring in my dining room. I decided that this would be a good time to repaint, both the kitchen and the dining room, with a new paint job. Because of my experience that I had when I removed wallpaper and painted not too long ago, I decided to hire a professional. I went to Angie's List for help. I found Dickson's Painting with high reviews. I wanted an estimate on removing wallpaper and painting my kitchen and dining room. I called Dickson's, set an appointment for an estimate. He was on-time for the estimate and I scheduled a date to do the job. Dan came prepared with all materials to complete the job and was prepared for the unexpected. I appreciated this--no delays. The wallpaper turned out to be easier than expected to remove. He cleaned the ceiling and suggested a sealer before painting, as I wanted to keep the popcorn ceiling. The job was completed in a timely manner and I am more than thrilled with the outcome! In fact, it makes me want to do the whole house, which is on the list. I will have Dickson's do it, when the time comes. I highly recommend this company.

Very Excellent work again by Daniel. This is the 3rd time we have used him. He arrived promptly and repainted our garage door. The old paint was a dark brown and very faded. He applied a new tan color that matches our siding and did a very high quality job. It really looks good! He cleaned everything up and there was no mess or paint droppings. Excellent job. We will keep using him for paint jobs on our home.

He was punctual, fast and his work is of the highest quality. He beat prices of other services by larger companies by $200-300! Would recommend him over a big company any day.

I will share my reviews with Angie's List when I choose someone. Just waiting on the 3rd painter to call. Dan and his partner Bud arrived at my home in the morning and we talked about what had to be done. They started right in. I really can't say enough about both of them. Their both very polite and so easy to talk too. Dan takes such pride in his work and Bud does also. They painted my kitchen, family room, dining room, master bedroom, long hallway and laundry room. In fact, in 2 week he will be back to paint the outside of my home, and I know he will do a great job!

Daniel was very professional. He explained what he was doing to me, and immediately began working. It took @ 4 hours to remove the border wallpaper. He applied two coats of paint to the walls. The walls are textured, and with removal of the border, it was not easy to maintain the texture, but you could not tell that a border had ever been there. He completely cleaned the area after completion of the job.

Not only did Dan Dickson submit the lowest bid by over $100 of the three interior painting specialists that I contacted , but the quality of his work was excellent. The drywall itself presented some initial problems for Dan due to shoddy workmanship by a previous contractor. Dan managed to correct the gaps where the drywall met the ceiling along with correcting the overlaps between the front and side panels. Once that was done he carefully prepared the surface for texturing and painting. The resulting texturing and painting perfectly matched the room. The entire process entailed about 7-8 hours of work over a two day period. The $400 cost of service also included all materials necessary for the job. Anyone looking to hire, at a very reasonable price, a meticulous painter with decades of experience would be well served to contact Daniel Dickson first!!

I got a great deal! When I called for an estimate he was available to start within a couple days and at a very reasonable price. He is very courteous and I am extremely pleased with the results. I will definitely call him when I am ready to work on more rooms in my house! Thanks!

Daniel did a great job painting our master bedroom which includes an alcove that has a cathedral ceiling. He made a dated bedroom with denim blue trim and damaged white walls into a master bedroom oasis. The work included painting the trim, ceilings, window frames, doors, and the walls, and he did it all in 4 days by himself. Daniel was always early or on time, kept his work area very clean, and finished the job under schedule and right on budget. He was always courteous on the phone, was clear about his work plan, and followed through with all of the work he committed to doing. We will definitely be asking him to return to paint other rooms in our house.

He responded quickly and we would have used him, but he no longer performed the service we were looking for. When we have further painting done we will definitely contact him. He did recommend the company that we went with and we are grateful to him.

Job well done by Daniel Dickson. I can not say enough about the work performed. We had several cracks in our ceiling from minor settling that was an eye sore. Daniel patched the cracks, textured them, and painted them to match the surrounding walls and ceiling. There were seven cracks in all on ceilings throughout the house. I was skeptical when he said he could do all this in one day, and even paint the entire ceiling if the paint did not match exactly like he wanted it to. I decided to give him a shot anyway, and man did he prove me wrong. He patched all the cracks (which I must say blend right in with the existing texturing) and painted the entire ceiling in one day. This guy is an amazing worker which is hard to come by these days. We're already thinking of future projects for Daniel. I would highly recommend him and look forward to working with him in the future. My first successful find on Angie's List!

They are good. I would hire them again to work on my house. They came and they finished the job quickly and well. Their price is comparable.

I need to get my house on the market as soon as possible. Several rooms needed to be painted so I called Daniel. He has done a couple of jobs for us before and does excellent work. I called him and he immediately scheduled the job. The rooms look great and I couldn't be happier with the work. Daniel is very reliable, professional, and easy to work with. The exterior of the house needs painted and I will be scheduling that job with Daniel shortly. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Dan did another excellent job. We used him before for our main bathroom. His texturing and painting are excellent and very professional. He is very careful and clean and doesn't drop any texture mud or paint. He completed this in 4 days as he predicted. He is very considerate and wants you to be pleased with the job. He helped us move some furniture out and then move it back in when finished. He cleaned up very well. We are going to use him again for several more projects.

Mr. Dickson was excellent, far beyond my expectations. His estimate of time and amount were correct. I will use him again and recommend him to anyone.

went well. contacted Dan and made appointment for bid - he arrived on time. contactrf and agreed upon start date. Was a little concernedas several weeks later and being a relative small - could be lost if something bigger came up and was wanting completed before Thanksgiving. He called a couple days later and said a job had been canceled or went faster than planned and would like to move up date. Said no and would stick with previous agreed date. Still a couple weeks away. On date time of arrival came and went and no Dan. A few minutes later he called and was stuck in traffic but would be there shortly and he did. He came in, set up and went to work. He did an excellent job. The texturing was great..

Was trustworthy, did beautiful texturing, great painting. Was reliable, honest and hardworking. Would definitely use again. In fact we have a large new home to paint and will be using him.

We haven't gotten the work done yet but will have in a few weeks. I will definitely follow up with the quality of his work.

Dan removed some remaining wall paper; textured and painted the walls; removed popcorn ceiling and textured and painted the ceiling; and stained the wood door facings, baseboards and wainscoating. This was done in our main bathroom. He accomplished this in 2-1/2 days. He was very prompt and worked diligently. His texturing and painting is exceptionally good and he works quickly. He intially helped us decide on the texture and the paint. The final job looks very good. Dan is a fine man and very personable and eager to do the job properly. He may not cover every item but is careful not to drop anything and cleans up good. He also applied stain to the wood trim and gave it a stronger look. We will use Dan in the future!
