Dave Southard Painting

Dave gave me a timeline in which he could get the job done. He was right on target with that! AND, not only was he very punctual every day, his painting is "second to none" in neatness and in working fast. He was very professional, polite and helpful with suggestions when I asked him questions. I would recommend Dave to anyone who is looking for the best interior painter out there. For a one-man operation, he did my whole house in the same time frame as what other painting "crews" with 2-4 men said they could do it in. I am so impressed. Dave is a one person machine. He takes great care to tape and paper off all the woodwork, remove plate covers, and clean up. Did 5 days of work and even came on a Saturday to do the extra laundry cabinets. Even better is his bid was the lowest, so great value for high quality. He is very nice and accommodating. He is my new painter that I will always use and highly recommend him to all.

Called and left a message Sunday, he returned call on same day and came out for estimate next day. We agreed upon scope of work and price and David started work the next morning. Arrived on time and completed work by mid afternoon. Very happy with outcome and quality. Would definately use again for dry wall repair, painting or wallpapering.

't accept his He called me back right away and came out in a timely manner. We spent about 45 minutes going over what I wanted to have done. He said he would work up an estimate. He called and left a voice message about a day or two later with the estimate, which I felt was reasonable. He told me that he could do the job in mid to late May. Then about 2 days later, he called to say he had a job cancel and he could start mine in a couple of days. I told him that I couldn't accept because I was still getting estimates but that I would let him know when I completed that process. I knew I might be missing an opportunity but had only gotten 1 estimate and I didn't feel like I had done my homework. After about another week or week and a half, I had gotten the estimates and wanted to hire this provider. I called his cell and left a message asking him to call me. He didn't return my call. About a week later, I called again and left a message saying I wanted to hire him. He never returned my call. I was disappointed because I felt like finding a painter on Angies List would be better than my past experiences. I think he was not pleased that I was getting additional estimates and couldn't have him start right away.

He came in on time and went right to work. He did a great job, this is the second time he has been here and I will use him again in he future. I consider him the best in work, cost and cleanup.

Dave has a great work ethic. He is on time and works throughout the day. He communicated well, purchased needed paint, and was also happy using the paint provided. He was diligent about protecting floors and furniture. I am quite happy with the job he did and will recommend him to others, as well as calling him again if I need more painting services.

Responded promptly to initial contact and scheduled time to give estimate. Started very next day as he fit the job into two others in his schedule. Did a BEAUTIFUL job, went above and beyond to do the job the right way. Always there when he said he would be. Finished ahead of schedule, even working around the rainy weather on outside porch. This project took about 10 working days. Dave was always on time and pleasant to be around. Overall, we were very pleased with his work and attention to detail and would highly recommend him.

The price was very reasonable. I remember that we had also contacted some other providers and he was on Angie's list and reasonable. He did good work. He was not outstanding, but was good. He was extremely personable. I would use him again in the future.

Absolutely the best contractor we have used. Professional, courteous and punctual. The bedroom wall he papered was a challenge in that it had an arched window in the middle of the wall and I wanted the inside of the arch papered as well. This was not a problem for him. The finished product was beautiful. We are completely satisfied with his work and will use him again in the future for wallpapering and/or painting.

Dave showed up the day of the call about an hour later. Quickly repaired drywall and insulation after plumbers had removed it. There was an issue of the pipe location and the drywall due to plumbers, Dave explained the problem and then he was able to work around it.

Dave scraped popcorn ceiling, repaired water damaged sheet rock, textured and painted. He answered the phone himself on the first call. He bid the job the same day. He was very punctual every morning at 7:45 and completed the job just as he scheduled. His quality was outstanding. It went extremely well.

Painted interior of home, walls and ceilings, repaired sheetrock and textured where necessary. He painted staircase spindles and railing; absolutely gorgeous. He is a true craftsman.

I contacted this provider this morning to see if he could give me a quote for interior and exterior painting. He said he only does inside so I asked if he would come and give me an estimate for that. He said that I really should use a single provider for both and I responded that I had several estimates scheduled and I would like him to give me his estimate for interior work. He hesitated then started making excuses for why he couldn't do it. I said and quot;it sounds like you're not interested in the workand quot; and he responded with and quot; well, I guess notand quot;. That ended the conversation. I really thought, based on the other reviews that I could expect some professionalism from this person. But I guess he has so much work that he can afford to turn me down. Not being able to or not wanting to do the work wouldn't have bothered me, it was his attitude that really ticked me off. He acted like he would be wasting his time with me. Too bad because I have a 2600 sq ft house that needs painting top to bottom. It will be a pretty good pay day for whomever I choose.

I was moving into a existing townhouse. I had initially thought the walls were in good enough shape that I would not need to paint right away. The living room was kind of dark and the kitchen was an unfortunate combo of apricot yellow walls with asparagus green trim. I figured I could live with it for a while. However, I never saw the walls completely bare until the day I closed. They were worse than I thought. Fortunately, I was not going to be moving in right away. I had already scheduled cleaners and movers though and had about a 3 day window to get painting done before move in. I called a few painters (and mostly left messages with no responses) on Angie's list thinking I would not be able to get things painted before moving day. I was able to get a hold of Mr Southard when I called a second time (he apologized for not calling me back sooner) and he was able to come by that same evening for an estimate. (July 26) He had good reviews and was able to start the next day. I picked my colors that evening-living/dining/stairway/entry were one color and kitchen another, The closet was plain white. I called him with my selections and he started the next day. Unfortunately, he did start with the kitchen color in the living room. We quickly straightened it out and he got the right color in. He worked through the weekend and by moving day (July 29) had just finishing the kitchen and closet to do, leaving plenty of room for the movers. He finished up on July 30. I might have ended up paying a little less if I had time to get a few quotes, but I am pleased with the final results and glad he was able to get the job done.

Someone lost their footing in the attic and punched a hole through the ceiling. I called a couple of people and Dave was the only one who called me back in a timely manner. He came out that day which was great. It took about 2 hrs and the spot looks great! Texture matches perfectly and price seemed very reasonable.

He did a good job. It was a good experience. He does a good job, he is a capable painter. He did a professional job and knows his business.

It was a one man show. He showed up on time every morning doing the job. He explained the job and the time it was going to take to do it. The guy works even for lunch if he has to. He is very reasonable at price.

Dave did a great job. Was highly responsive. We were fortunate he had a job cancel so he was able to squeeze us in very quickly.

Almost every wall in the home needed some kind of drywall repair. He did an excellent job. Heavy texture on the walls made it very difficult. He painted all of the walls in the home. It looks absoutely fantastic. I've already hired him to paint the outside trim.

Had a water leak in the slab and the plumbers made six holes in the drywall in four rooms. Dave repaired all the holes and painted two rooms and a hall for me. You cannot see where the holes were and the painting looks wonderful. Dave is very professional and isn't satisfied with less then perfect. Very hard worker and cleaned up the area upon finishing. It was wonderful to find such a professional.
