Estimate of $610.00 given for one extra employee for an hour and company owner for a full day and a half. Company owner was at the property for less than three hours. Painting was spotty and incomplete. When confronted with lack of job completion and number of hours spent on job compared to quote, owner became verbally aggressive and loud enough that neighbors down the street could hear his ranting. Steer clear of this disreputable cheat...

Response from CHRISTIAN BROTHERS PAINTING
I originally painted the home approximately 2005, give or take. I recall, as this customer was very difficult to please! No problem, we went the extra mile, and he was happy. That is why he called me again in 2012 to repair some damaged soffit areas. My carpenter replaced ten areas of soffit, by removing the old rotted wood, and replacing with new wood and caulking. All that was left was to prime and paint the new wood. Nothing too big at all. I was not hired to paint any other part of the home except these areas. I made it perfectly clear to this customer that the paint may not be 100 percent the same as the old paint on the home now. He understood and agreed. I told him a price and we signed a contract listing what was to be done and when it was to be done. Priming on the first day and paint the second day and pay the balance due when completed. He signed it and was happy. I purchased paint primer and materials. I had an assistant help me and we finished early the first day. I called the customer and told him such, and told him I would reduce the contract by $50. He was fine. I go the second day and was supposed to finish by noon, when he would meet me, check my work, and pay the balance less the fifty dollars. I am fast. I am neat. I am a professional. Never ever had a single complaint that I couldnt fix! Not one ever. This is the first. He was upset not because of the work, but because I am fast and finished earlier than planned. I did everything on the contract. Carpentry, caulk, prime and paint. He came outside and was hostile because he felt he overpaid. Not due to "poor spotty work", as I WAS PAID BY HIM. He was upset because the amount of time I was there. Again, nothing ever was mentioned about the work. He inspected it when I was there. His only objection was to time it took. What can I say? Some go easier, so I was going to refund him the $50. I asked him what on the contract is wrong? What did I miss? What doesn't look right? I will fix it now. He got mad and stated "its now only 1030am and you said you would be done at noon. So I will pay you at noon". So I asked him to show me something wrong with the work, and he couldn't. I explained to him to calm him down, the expenses involved. Primer, paint, my helper, gas to and from, and materials. He only was worried about the TIME it took. He did pay me when I explained the costs involved. What can I say? If you are a potential customer reading this, I will be more than happy to show you the work! Would you pay if you thought the work was spotty? I covered every new soffit with primer and 2 coats of high quality Sherwin Williams Super Paint. My work speaks for itself. My reputation is solid. I have painted for this customer before. The only reason for this complaint is because I AM FAST? Sorry for that!!!!! Thanks for reading!
