BIG BROTHER MOVERS

The morning of the move, Cindy from Big Brother Moving called and told me the two guys scheduled for my move would be delayed by several hours due to another job. She could send out three guys for more money per hour but the moving would be completed much faster. The new owners of my home were moving in that evening and I had to be out so I consented to the three guys for the job. The men who showed up were very unprofessional. They walked into the house to look around and didn't seem to know whether to load boxes I had packed or furniture first. Finally they started moving furniture out of the rear bedroom. Close to three hours went by and the job was less than halfway completed. John at the main office of Big Brother Moving called to ask how the move was progressing. When I told him the job was taking much longer than expected and the new owners would be moving in shortly, he began screaming at me. He yelled into the phone that he had been screwed by other customers and he was not going to do my job and not get paid for it. I never mentioned not paying, just wondered how much more time it would take them to load the rest of the furniture and boxes. He hung up on me and called one of the workers with instructions to unload my stuff from the truck and leave. They began unloading my furniture onto the driveway!! I called John and he began screaming again about not finishing the job and then he hung up on me again. The guys unloaded everything and drove away. Thank goodness the new owners of my house were understanding and appalled by the treatment I received from Big Brother Moving. They helped me move some of the furniture and boxes into the garage and gave me time to find another mover. Within two days, I found another moving company that was very professional and courteous. I tipped them generously for their hard work and kindness.

They were late getting there. They did not bring their packer. They were slow about moving the items already packed along with the furniture. At noon they left but did not return until after 2pm. They did bring their packer at that time. He worked diligently and I was satisfied with his work. However, the movers were slow, the furniture and other items that they had been instructed to wrap were either not done or only half done. At 10pm they still had not completed the contracted job and told to leave. I had the distinct impression that they were "riding the clock". Estimates from other companies stated that it was probably an 8 hour job and Big Brother took 11 hours and still did not complete it. I called and asked that they come back and wrap the articles and they did send a truck out but the man said that the way the things were placed prevented him from wrapping anything in the short time allotted. He left without wrapping anything.
