Basey's Roofing

Still waiting for a call from Basey’s after over 4 years to make things right.

One year after our roof was installed, there was a heavy rain and our roof leaked. The leak went through our kitchen cabinets, our microwave, and our cooktop. Smoke was pouring out of our kitchen so we frantically called 911 and waited outside with our dogs in the pouring rain. The leak almost caused an electrical fire! If we had not been home that day, we would’ve likely lost our home and our pets. The firemen concluded that Basey’s had not sealed a vent and the heavy rain exposed their faulty installation. Basey’s claims they are a great company because they have been around 40 years and because they offer a 5-year warranty but the owner is letting his son-in-law run his company to the ground. Basey’s came out to do an “investigation” and their findings were that either wind or a squirrel damaged a vent but promised they would send a crew in a week to make the necessary repairs. Something about them taking pictures of squirrel tracks on my roof did not sit right so we decided to get a 2nd opinion from a top competitor and they agreed with the firemen’s conclusion that Basey’s did not weatherproof a vent. Then, we got a 3rd opinion from a licensed home inspector who also found that, contrary to Basey’s claim, wind damage had not compromised a vent. We kept calling and emailing for over a month requesting that Basey’s honor their warranty and repair the roof and replace the ruined appliances due to their negligence but their warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. When we last spoke to their representative, they told us that no one would believe firemen or one of their competitors and that we are lying about our appliances not working even though they have been red-tagged. All we wanted was for them to repair our roof and replace the damaged appliances. Who would expect that an expensive, “hail resistant”, “lifetime warranty” roof could not protect our family from rain? This company has no integrity. Steer clear and avoid the hassle and tears.

I always use Basey's. They just come out and do the job, don't screw things up and are on their way.

It took them a while to get out here, but they finally got it done. I didn't have to pay anything, it was a complete warranty. They left quite a few nails around, so I wasn't happy about that. The warranty people took a while for their stuff.

George (the salesman) lied to or (misled) us several times such as overstating the size of our roof, putting on shingles that were supposed to be hail resistant which would have decreased our insurance cost when it came time to fill out the insurance forms he admitted they were not rated but he offered to install some that were but we would have to pay all labor to remove the new shingles and to install the new ones, he promised he would be on sight to oversee the work (he was here 2 times and one was to collect the check and the crew had no English speaking workers or so they claimed so we could not communicate with them because George was not here. The final insult occurred when I called about a leak and was told by the worker it was not their problem it was ours.

They showed up when they were supposed to. They put some of it on a little building that we have. The supervisor was on the job. They are excellent and maintaining a good standard. We upgraded for a discount on our homeowners insurance. They told us about the discount. We asked him to put the leftover material on our little building. He drove us around so, that we could see his work and see what it would look like. It did make a difference and they were good about follow up. They let us pay them when our insurance paid up.

He was arrogant and insulting. They came in late afternoon and they started north end of the house and the storm came and it leaked. I complained in a phone call about the whole thing, and about them sending their crew when it was about to storm and no one spoke English except a very young fellow and he told me I am prejudice.

There wasn’t anything that I disliked and I was very pleased with way they handled everything. They were very professional and punctual. They gave me good options and recommendations and they worked with me well.

We heard by word of mouth that they were a good company and we were happy with the work they provided. They cleaned up well after they left, but there were a few nails left.

We did not realize we had extensive hail damage until our neighbors all around us were getting new roofs. Next door-neighbor said we need to have ours looked at because they were told their damage was much worse than in 2011, when we all got new roofs at that time. Insurance Adjuster totalled our roof. Basey's Roofing replaced our roof twice already. We were satisfied with them and their estimates have always been very close to estimates provided by Insurance Adjuster. Rick Brown returned my call promptly and came out the next day. He said he has all the measurements from the two times before, but I asked him if he could look to see if the chimney was in fact damaged, as we had been told. He confirmed that the crown was broken and we should call a masonry/chimney repair company. We were placed on Basey's schedule, however, I told them we needed to get chimney repaired first, then call them. Once we were ready for them to do the roof, we were put on their list. It was a few weeks later when they called to schedule a time, but I had to put them off an additional couple of weeks. Baseys is such a dependable company. They arrive very early, around 7 and by 5 pm roof is replaced and all the debris is cleaned and whisked away, all in one day! This third time around was especially nice, due to the ease of e-mail back and forth with the estimate, questions, etc. and Rick Brown always conducted himself in a prompt, professional manner. We have referred people to Basey's before and would not hesitate to use them or recommend them in the future. Of course, we hope we don't need another new roof!

Basey's technician was very professional and knowledgeable, but we just felt that the estimate was a little too high for the work that was to be done.

Mr. Basey actually did our estimate and dealt with our insurance company in all instances. His knowledge and strength were outstanding in making sure the adjustor gave us a fair deal.

The quality of work appeared to be very good. The logistics of getting things set up was totally unacceptable. We had hail damage May of 2012 so I called them because they are an established company. I got an estimate, but then didn't hear from them for several weeks. When I called they told me the guy who gave me the estimate had left the company, so they dropped the ball there. I wanted the work done while it was still warm so the shingles could seal. I didn't pay them until the job was complete, but I can't understand why it took them so long to do so. They subcontracted the gutter work and there must have been a communication problem between them too. The gutters didn't get installed until November when the roof was finally completed. The quality of work was good, but the handling it in the office was horrible. I think they did a good enough job that I could use them again, but if and only if they handled the administrative side better.

They were totally professional and did a great job. I have nothing but positive things to say about them. Everything looked good and they cleaned up afterwards. They do have a good reputation. We were very pleased with the job.

Basey's estimates were always accurate. On the second job he did for me, the insurance company offered me less than Basey's estimate for replacement. Basey proved to the insurance company the value of the former roof because he knew the value and quality of what he had previously installed. The insurance company backed down and paid me for installing a new roof of the same quality as the one destroyed.

They are excellent. They are professional. They clean the area up well. They work well with the insurance companies.

I was very pleased with Jeremy Snow from Basey's Roofing, his service, communication, and professionalism and would recommend to anyone. My roof was totaled, along with hundreds of others, in the May 2012 hail storm. Jeremy returned phone calls and got an estimate delivered in a very timely fashion. The insurance company made several mistakes throughout the process and he communicated well with them, working out details...returning to the house to take photos and sending them to the insurance company, etc. The actual wait time for a new roof was several months due to the volume of roofing jobs at that time. I did not mind this at all, as we had no leakage, etc. and feel certain we would have been "moved up the line" had we had more pressing damage. I feel like they took care to schedule a crew that was best for the needs of my older home with vaulted /plaster ceilings. The actual crew was great...working in a timely fashion, taking care of the house and courteous of my family as we came and went throughout the day. If I ever need to re-roof again, I will definitely be calling Basey's!

The experience with this company was great. I have no complaints. They were very up-front and honest about how long it was going to take and about when they would put me on their schedule because we had a big hail-storm here. They also said that if there was any rain forecast, they would put a covering so that nothing got damaged. The other thing was they really made sure that they picked up all the nails out of our yard and drive way, and that was huge and we didn't have any problem with that. I would use them again in the future if need be.

It was a great experience. They showed up when they said they were going to. They did quality work and pointed out some areas that I hadn't recognized before. They were very professional and very easy to get along with. I was very pleased with the whole experience. I would absolutely use them again.

My experience with this company was not a good experience. I was first introduced with them when a gentleman knocked on my door after a terrible hail storm in my neighborhood that destroyed my roof and knocked out my windows in the front of my home and damaged alot of personal property. The gentleman seemed very nice, honest and seemed like he would provide excellent service to our home. Upon researching and comparing prices with several companies We "thought" we were doing the right thing in hiring them to complete our repairs to our home since they are local owned and have there own roofing supply company. The roofers showed up when they said they were going to very nice roofing contractors I have no complaints with the people that did the roof they took there time did quality work. But, upon putting my roof in during the summer months last summer when it was over 100 degrees the stuck a nail thur my roof that busted my cooper line to my air conditioner. Which in result broke my A/C and we were without air. The next several days of trying to get this repaired and nobody coming up with any money to fix this besides us even though they were at the time taking full responsibility for the acetone that the roofer did. Then they decided that it wasn't there fault they tried to make it out it was a building code issue. Which in result left me with more paper work for the Oklahoma Construction Board to obtain saying there was no code issue on my home that the roofer that put the roof on was there fault. Basiey Roofing didn't pay for all the repairs they paid partial for it but I still believe that all repairs should have been paid by this company. We had to fight them just to get them to cover some of it. There was alot of money spent with them for all the repairs that were needed on my home I never heard again from the nice gentleman that appeared at my door or the owner of the company that I requested several times to call me or meet with. Nobody should have to go thur what we did especially after a major storm issue and then to have to deal with damage that was then done by the roofing contractor that was at your home and was doing the repairs. It ended up being a little over a 1000.00 we were out to fix the A/C. We could have turned the damages done from to our home by Baiseys to our Insurance Company and let them go after them for the repairs because they instructed us that they would be happy to take care of it for us but, seeing that our deductible was 1000.00 and it had to be a new claim and at this point we were running on about 7 months after the damage was done we just said forget it and we were out the money. When we went into the office to pay them it was and out and out screaming match that was only initiated by one of the ladies in the office that became very defeasive about the services that were done. What concerns me is still yet we haven't even been contacted by the owner of the company to even apologize or anything which is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The warranty that is on this roof will it be reinforced if something does go wrong ? Most of all what happened to the very nice gentleman that came knocking on my door to sell me his services, I never heard from him again ? Word to the wise, never hire a roofing contractor to do the repairs to your home.. You can be your own contractor and hire the people that you find to repair your house you don't have to use a contractor you just find the most professional people to do the jobs and then turn them into your insurance company for them to be paid. It was a total nightmare and I pray I never have to go thur it again.

I called my insurance company after a hail storm in June 2011 and they sent a contract adjustor from out of this area to my home that month. The adjustor submitted a report to my insurance company stating that I had minor damage of about $4000. I then watched as several homes in my neighborhood began having full roofs replaced so I contacted Jeremy Snow at Basey Roofing on South May Avenue in OKC for an estimate. He found much more damage and, as a result, I asked my insurance company to re-inspect using one of their own local adjustors. The adjustor met with Jeremy Snow at my home and agreed that the entire roof was damaged, as well as the gutters; Basey installed a new TAMKO Premium, Thunderstorm Grey roof in September 2011, after the extremely hot weather subsided. They arrived on time with eight workers, who removed the old roof and installed the new one in less than two days. Price was negotiated to my satisfaction.
