I found them on Angie's List and I used the coupon. They were great. I called them on Monday morning and they did the work the next day. Their service guy Monique, was just the nicest fellow. He was clean, courteous, nice and neat. He was helpful. He got it all done right away. There was no confusion. I would definitely use them again. I don't know anything about any of their other employees, except the people that answered the phone and got me lined up. They coordinated, were organized and efficient.

I moved into a new house, and the dryer outlet didnt match my dryer plug. i call Alliance. The appointment was originally scheduled for 2:00 (I wasn't given a "window"). At 3, I called the company and they informed me that they could come anytime between 2-5. Originally I thought I would need the outlet changed, but they informed the outlet was actually the newer/safer version, and they could change the dryer cord. They didn't have one in their van (I was a little surprised by this, considering the nature of the job). They went to go buy one. Once they returned, It took less than 10 minutes to change out the cord. I have since priced the cords at less than $30. They charged the $49 service fee, plus $130 for the job. This seemed excessive to me. I partially blame myself for not re-pricing the job once I learned the cord needed to be changed instead of the outlet. But, they sent 2 people for what was obviously a one person job. And I have come to expect (based on my experiences with multiple other companies) that the "service fee" to be applied toward the project cost, especially for such a brief, easy job. It wasn't an AWFUL experience-- I would describe it as average or slightly below-- but I will look elsewhere the next time I need electrical work done. Pros: same day appointment available. The workers were polite. The new cord works as expected Cons: price, confusion over appointment time vs "window", didn't have needed materials readily available
Description of Work: Replaced dryer plug in cord to match outlet

They got the entire job done in one day and had us back up and running. They did come back the next day to put on a few finishing touches. They went over the estimate by $450, but that was because I had a generator in the back yard that they did not see when they were in the house giving me an estimate and I failed to tell them about the generator, which I should have done. The owner came out the day they were going to do the work and said that he would let me have the 200 amp transfer box for the generator at his cost and they did not charge me any labor for that switch over. It think that it was more than fair and I definitely would use them again.
Description of Work: They converted me to a 200 amp service and installed a whole house surge protector. They also grounded my service which was not done when the house was built.

When the service men came to the house they were very nice. However, they told me the price would be $501.00. Word for word I told then the price Chad had quoted me. Not only did they seem shocked at the $200 to $300 price, they also did not seem to agree with Chad stating that the $49.95 service fee would be included in that quote. (The $501.00 did include a $49.95 line item for the sercvice call charge.) Also they seemed concerned that Chad mentioned that part about "depending on how close the microwave was to the circuit breaker box". The workers said for that to make a difference the circuit breaker box would have to be within 5 feet of the microwave. I called the man who had given me the quote. He said he rembered our conversation very well. He agreed completely with what I remembered about what he had told me. When I told him the workers in my house told me $501 he quite sacastically said what he had told me was just a "ball park" figure. I told him that double was not "ball park" it was double. He said "sorry". I asked him if that was all he had to say. He asked "what do you want from me" and I told him I wanted him to honor the commitment he made on the phone. He said no. I told Chad that I felt he had lied to me and used a bait and switch tactic to get me to make the service call appointment. I told him that he had just ruined his company's Angie List rating. I disconnected the call. After hearing what I went through on the phone, the workers said they would not be charging me the service fee. I showed them to the door and they left. The service men were very nice. I feel Chad is a liar and a cheat. Below is the link to Our Electricians website stating the guarantee on pricing/quotes: http://www.ourelectrician.com/about_us.php
Description of Work: I called the company to ask for a quote to have the voltage increased on a circuit in my kitchen. The man on the phone was Chad. He sounded extremely confident in the information he gave me. I explained that when I used the tea kettle and the built-in microwave oven, it would trip the cicuit breaker and finally had fried the microwave and I was going to have to replace it. Chad told me that what I really needed was an additional circuit breaker to handle the built-in microwave alone. He quoted the price at between $200 and $300 dollars depending upon how far away the microwave was from the circuit breaker box. I set up an appointment to have the service men come to the house. Chad then explained that there was a $49.95 service charge. He went on to explain that if I had the work done, the $49.95 would be included in the $200 to $300 price.

I would like to introduce myself I am Roger Heiliger Co: owner of Alliance Electric Services. It is obviously clear that this service call did not go as planned for our customer or our company. We strive to be the best in our industry. It seems we fell short, no not just short but miserably short on that promise. Not only does this blemish the image of our company but the trust in our customer Member. I have contacted Member and she has been gracious enough to allow us back into her home. We will do everything we can to rectify this situation in a timely manner. Her concerns are valid and we are addressing the website to correct the wording. The website states, you will know the price before we show up. It is suppose to state, you will know the price before the work begins. Hence our upfront or what we call Straight Forward Pricing. It can’t be more obvious how pricing work before we see or diagnose the situation can lead to misunderstanding. Every day brings new beginnings and hurdles to clear. Our company will take this matter seriously and use it for future training.

I contacted the company several weeks ago to do an estimate to install electrical service for my new workshop several weeks ago. They did come out and did a site inspection, but told me I needed to contact OG&E before they could complete the estimate. It took me a week and a half to get in touch with the OG&E person and got the information that Alliance would need. I contacted Terry with their office, he stated he would get right back to me, he never called back. I waited another week, giving him the benefit of the doubt due to the 4th of July, didn't hear anything. I called back today 07/09/12 and spoke to a young lady who said she would check with Terry and get right back to me, but again no call. If company's don't want the job, they should just say so up front.

I called Alliance and talked to Roger Heilleger (not sure of spelling) about the problem. He assigned one of his technicians, Michael Ousley, the job and within 2 hours was at my house. Michael was very pleasant and quickly found the short and fixed it. My pool pump was running again. Thanks guys for the great service!! I highly recommend this company. Todd
Description of Work: The service Alliance performed was to discover why my brand newly installed pool pump kept blowing the breaker. They found it was a short in the wiring between the fuse box and the pool pump.

I called this organization and asked for a estimate for installation of a electrical outlet at our pool. I was told there would be a $49.00 charge to show up whether any work was done or not. Payment for no work performed should be a item checked by Angie's List for acceptable business practice.

I was needing some electrical work done and my wife suggested that we consult Angie's List. Thank God for Angie's List as well as Alliance Electric. After we called them, they came out to the house, gave us a detailed estimate on the cost with no hidden fees and that is exactly what the final cost was when the job was completed. They were prompt, efficient, courteous and conducted themselves in a professional manner. After the job was completed, they sent a man to the house to answer any questions that the inspector might have. How refreshing it is, in these times, to have a company that cares about the customer first as well as producing a quality service. In conclusion, I would just like to say, anytime I need any electrical work done, they will be the only ones I call.

I scheduled Alliance to switch out some fans for me and an electrical light. They were scheduled to be at my house at 11am but were running pretty late due to other appointments. I understood that they might be late given the circumstances but decided to cancel because they were running late and another contractor showed up on time and I gave them the bigger job I initially needed. I decided to allow them to come and switch out the fans for me because they called to apologize and said he would not charge me the initial fee to come out since they were late. They came by and did the job and left. I thought the pricing was a little high but just wanted to check them out since they were on this list. I had another electrician come by and do the same exact thing for $80 a week before that in a couple of other rooms. Overall, I think they did okay and may use them again in the future. I'm glad I went with the other contractor though for the bigger job because they were very thorough and extremely helpful in getting things set up for me. I'm sure if I would've asked these guys to do the same job, they would've charged a lot more.

In addition to what I have already described... the fuse box was in a bedroom closet. Apparently, that's a big no-no, but done frequently in the era that my house was built. They closed out that fuse box, rerouted it all to the outside with new fuse box and new fuses - many more than I had before, and all labeled. The wiring was trashed, so they had to do a lot of re-wiring. It was a lot of work. Then they checked all areas of the house for output levels and confirmed which new fuse went with what. He said this was a job they did several times a month, so I guess many homes were set up the way mine was. I was lucky that I hadn't had an electrical fire. Again, I would not hesitate to re-hire.
Description of Work: Two gentlemen came to inspect the problem on Tuesday 2-28-2012. Shaun (sp) and so sorry, don't know the other gentleman's name. Both were knowledgeable, professional, on time and nice. Nice is a big plus. They had no problem quickly identifying and resolving the blown fuse problem. They also did a thorough inspection and what they found was not good. My home was built in the late 1950s and a lot of add tos and jerryrigging had been done through the years with the result being an electrical nightmare. I swear, I think he shivered when he saw it all.... Anyway, a lot needed to be done just to bring it up to code and prevent a fire just itching to start. No, he didn't try to scare me. He just showed me what and where and what it should be while explaining what needed to be done, and why. I knew the wiring needed to be seen to, I just had no idea how bad it was. So, he gave me a price and we settled on $1500 with them to do the work the following Thursday (3/l). They would have come the next day had I not already scheduled some work, so we agreed on Thursday. They arrived quite close to the time he said and got to work and their office had already called to let me know they were on the way. He'd estimated about 5 hours, but ran into some hinky stuff and it ended up taking closer to 7 hours. All the time they were here, they were nice, pleasant, personable and easy to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate a minute to recommend them to anyone needing electrical service. I do need a little additional work done and will ask them back in a couple of months to take care of it.

I recently bought a house that was built in 1978. It had an old Federal Pacific breaker panel. Due to the history of that company's breakers failing to trip and causing fires I wanted to replace it before doing any further remodel to my house. I called several electricians who either didn't want to take on the job or didn't really understand the history of that panel or the danger that it poses. When I called Alliance they knew right away what I was talking about and agreed the panel needed replacing. Shawn and Mike were at my house within a few hours and gave me an estimate for replacing the panel as well as some other electrical work I needed done. The estimated was fair and I agreed to have them do the work. During the course of their work Shawn and Mike found several circuits that had been wired incorrectly. They were very knowledgeable and very good at describing the issues that needed fixing. I'm not an electrician but I know enough about it to know they were doing their jobs correctly. I watched them diagnose several bad circuits. They are fast and efficient and they do an excellent job. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They replaced my service panel and repaired circuits that were poorly or incorrectly wired. They added new circuits.

I selected Alliance Electric from Angie's List. Reading all the reviews contributed greatly to my decision to contact them. Based upon the quality of work performed by the technicians, I will use this firm again in the future.
Description of Work: I would like to commend the two technicians for the work that was performed at my home on September 15th. They spent most of that day working on electrical projects inside my home, in my barn and outside. I found these young men very personable as well as professional. As we surveyed each of the project areas, they made valuable suggestions on various ways the work could be completed both aesthetically and safely.

I was a bit peeved at the communication with Alliance. In my contact with other such companies, I have had smoother and more certain notice of when a worker is going to arrive. Usually, the company contacts me. In this instance, I had to initiate all the calls. The 2 men at first seemed like they were not sure what they were doing. I was quite surprised that the team leader, Shawn, asked to use my extension ladder because those ladders are tricky and can be dangerous. We managed to avoid the extension ladder issue, though, because Mike was tall enough to reach the light fixture from a regular step-ladder. All's well that ends well. I'm not sure whether I'll use Alliance again, but I got my money's worth today. As I write this report, the sun has not gotten low enough to check whether the garage light will come on at dark. I'm going to bet that it will. I would like to see workmen more prepared and with their own tools and equipment in proper working order. They should never ask a customer for an extension ladder, and they should know whether their flash lights have good batteries. Perhaps this was a comedy of errors, but during the process, I could not help but grind my teeth a bit. I'm glad that Shawn and Mike were clean, neat, and did not leave any trash in my garage or on my driveway.
Description of Work: I used this company because of its high ratings on Angie's List. However, the experience was not all that I had hoped for based on the reports. I have a light fixture over my driveway and affixed to my house. The fixture is keyed to an "eye" to come on at night and go off at dawn. The fixture has not worked for some time, so I hired Alliance to determine the problem and fix it. I was scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on June 8. I called a bit in advance on the same day to determine whether I was still in the que and where. I was given the number for Shawn, the electrician to be dispatched to my area. I called him, and he said that he'd be at my house in about 2 hours. That was fine for me. However, we had several phone calls in the interim playing "phone tag" to contact each other. I finally heard from him at 5 p.m. and he said that they were on their way. When Shawn got to my house, he introduced his helper, Mike. Shawn asked to use my extension ladder to reach the light fixture over the driveway. I found that odd because I thought he would have his own ladder. I told him that he could use mine, but that it had some problems and that I did not want to be liable for him falling off of my ladder. As matters turned out, Mike use a regular step ladder to reach the fixture and my extension ladder did not get used. Next, they determined that they needed to get into the attic. I moved my car out of the garage so that the steps to the attic could be lowered. Shawn went up to look at the wiring from the inside of the attic, and asked Mike to get him a flash liglht so that he could see. Mike came back with a large commercial light, but the battery was dead. (I'd think that they'd check their equipment to know whether it works, but I guess not on this one.) Mike finally got a light with a good battery, and Shawn found what he needed. Then the men went to re-attach the fixture outside on the garage. It was held with 2 screws, but the wind had knocked over the step ladder and scattered the screws while the 2 men were in the attic. For a while, I thought I was watching Laurel and Hardy. They must have found the screw because they got the fixture properly affixed. End result: The lights had not been working because I had a switch in the wrong position, and one of the bulbs was a CFL and did not have the correct base for the socket of the fixture. Shawn and Mike were neat and clean and left me with a light fixture that now will have 2 working floodlights over my driveway on an electric eye.

I called Alliance and explained that the renter had outlets that did not work and was experiencing blackouts of the power. They called the renter and went to the house. Apparently it was just a thrown breaker so they did not charge me for anything but the dispatch fee. I was very happy with their promptly and honesty.
Description of Work: Didn't know what the problem was, but Alliance went out and fixed it and only charged me the dispatch fee. Great experience and I will use them again for my residence and rental property.
