I arrived at the location of the home inspection. The two inspectors, my realtor, a termite inspector & the selling agent gathered around & the inspectors went over their findings in depth. They explained not only what they found but the potential significance & how important & how difficult & how expensive any given issue might be. I had a PDF of the inspection report emailed to me a few hours later.

We are a military family who moves frequently and we are new in town.Trusting companies is difficult for us since we've never been able to plant roots in 22 years of active duty service. When we called for a quote, we were told that A to Z Inspections was the best, most thorough and most expensive inspection company. After getting the details of the home to be inspected we were quoted a price of $695 and told that the inspection would take 5 to 6 hours with two inspectors. Within 2-1/2 hours of arriving, the inspector said they were wrapping things up. As we reviewed the report, I asked a question about an item being reported. Instead of answering the question, the inspector Sherri Werner told me with an icy tone to, “Hire another inspector”. The other inspector onsite, Bob Bosse, did a good job because he took the time to explain his findings. According to the report filed by the inspectors, they spent less time on the inspection than the minimum time the owner, Jack Werner, said was needed. During the follow-up, Mr. Werner indicated he wanted to be helpful. It would have been helpful to answer my questions to the best of their ability during the inspection or to take the time to understand my concerns after the inspection. I lowered my rating of A to Z Inspections based on unwelcome contact from Mr. Werner after my written request for privacy.
