Five Star Fence Company

Horrible. My neighbor was Kenny's sister and brother in-law so I went with Five Star. I had to chase Kenny down for weeks to get a timeline and eventually his crew showed up, albeit when I was away on a business trip. They missed the property lines (my neighbors sprinklers were on my side of the fence), cut the cable lines, and put in pine instead of cedar. I continually tried to get in contact with them to address the issues they ignored and never responded. I finally paid another company (Fence Pro in Yukon) to move the fence onto my property. I have pickets falling off, and just now I had to lean on the fence to brace myself only to find that at least 4 posts are not in any concrete so the fence now leans and wobbles. Five Star is terrible and I suggest staying far, far away.

Five star came and put in the poles for the fence. They were placed at the wrong height. They took them out, put in different ones in the same holes. This has caused the fence to lean. The gate was dragging on the cement walkway. The metal pole caps were not put on straight, the fence was not level. They would not talk to me about fixing it. They had to talk to our builder. After talking to him they came and fixed the gate and pole caps. It is still unlevel and crooked, beginning to lean to the point that we are going to have to hire another fence company come in and fix it. I would NEVER use this company.

I think I got them out of the phone book. Everything was good. I didn't like the way they finished up on my fence so I called them up and told them about it, and they came right out and fixed it. It was outstanding! They've been around for quite a few years and I can see their sign on quite a few fences they've done. One reason I went with them other than some of the other ones, even the ones on Angie's List, is because we had the tornadoes in July and a lot of the companies were too busy, so I had to go with somebody that had available time. I still didn't want to pay that much, but that was the going thing.

We hired 5 Star Fence Company to build an expensive fence for our home in Oklahoma City in August 2013. It was a disaster. Their crew, supervised by "Neil" destroyed one of our sprinkler heads and did not come forward to inform us. The burden was on us was to watch them like a hawk and hold them accountable. They damaged a tree that belonged to one of our neighbors and never came forward to inform us. The retired teacher was very upset with their lack of respect. They built a brick column that was was too close to another sprinkler head and only informed us after the work was done. Their crew got into a verbally abusive argument in the front yard about 8:30 am. during the construction. There were several nails from the old fence that was removed during construction that were scattered around the yard and in the street. "Neil" the crew supervisor, violated professional boundaries by getting involved in a private domestic matter in our household that damaged our relationship. Lack of professionalism. Inappropriate conduct during construction. Not forthcoming with problems. Neil shook my hand, looked me in the eye and told me he would take care of my concerns. Do yourself a favor and find another fence company.

I stipulated pressure-treated fencing materials at the time of the estimate. When I received the estimate, it showed some letters and numbers I didn't recognize to describe the fence material. I called Kenny Arthur and asked him to confirm that his estimate was for pressure-treated fencing. He said it was, so I hired him. On the day of installation, I noticed that the fence did not appear to be pressure treated. I asked his installer if the fence was pressure treated and he said it was. When I commented that the fence did not look like our other pressure treated fencing, the installer (Mr. Arthur's brother) said that was because the fence was kiln-dried. When my husband arrived home, he looked up the codes shown on the fencing materials and they were NOT pressure treated. After weeks of trying to contact Mr. Arthur, he stated that he stood on his estimate, which apparently did NOT specify pressure-treated wood. So an inferior product was used when we paid for pressure-treated.

Five Star Fence Company has poor workmanship. They said they used premium wood, however, in three months the wood is rotting out and the fence is falling apart.
