Shortly after the fence was installed, the nails began to come out of the wood slats. Multiple fence slats fell out, became loose. I called him and spoke with him directly. He told me that the guy he hired to install the fence used the "wrong nails" on my fence and some other jobs he had contracted. He assured me that he would fix this. He would never return my future phone calls. I was lucky enough to get a family member who answered his phone (or friend) who would relay the message of my continued concern and desire for him to repair my fence. NO ANSWER... EVER. NOTE: his estimate has no brick and mortar address. I should have picked up on this initially. He has a phone number which is useless if he does not answer. Awful! I got taken. In my opinion.

I had shopped via Angie's List for a contractor in the OKC area from Alexandria, VA in advance of my son closing on his first house in Yukon, OK. One contractor took a week to get back to me and then proposed to install a fence longer than required which had me wondering whether a representative had visited the house to actually measure the fence line. Luke responded back immediately and offered to go over a couple of days later to take measurements, ascertain what need to be done and provide a quote with options. Luke was true to his word, My wife and I did this all by long distance so we relied upon Luke to determine what was needed. We had a tentative date (two weeks later) for when we could consummate the deal based on our son's tentative closing date. My wife flew out to OKC the day after the closing to help my son set up the house and Luke was able to start installing the fence four working days later. While the job was not finished until following day and after my wife's flight back to VA, the work was done right, the first time and with minimal effort by my wife which was good since she was busy furnishing the house in her limited number of days. Luke sent us an invoice and we just wrote him a check. Could not be more satisfied.

Luke listened to exactly what we wanted, made suggestions that would meet our needs but save us some money and the next thing we. From the first post to the final nail, it was very clear that he and his crew were professionals. Luke and his crew did the little things that distinguish good companies from great companies. Stopping their work and moving out of the way so one or more of us could easily get in or out of the house and lending us a hand so we wouldn't slip or fall. There was so much more, but they made it so natural, it's hard to even remember it all. We were so pleased with the work that photos were up on Facebook before the crew had their tools put away. After the deck was finished, Luke took a very close look at everything and saw one board that didn't meet his standards. The next morning we heard some equipment running outside and there was Luke, taking off the board the he wasn't happy with and replacing it. (We were happy and would never have complained about it.) Luke and crew are the best we have worked with. We have more work we want done and have no question who will be doing it. Thank you Luke and share our heartfelt thanks with your crew.

We met with Luke in September of 2014 and he seems really nice and assured us he could provide what we needed. He even had some good suggestions. I asked about the stain and if we would need to hire him back in the spring to stain the fence. He said no, that he could get it all done before we had any issue with winter. So, we signed the contract on the 1st of October. Everything started out great. They came out and drilled for the poles and they put the fence together picked by picked. This is one of the things that we really liked because our back yard isn't flat and we have a small dog. Honestly, I didn't think this would take longer than 6-8 weeks. Luke said he had some great guys that he would sub the concrete and stain work out. But, work slowed down significantly after awhile to the point where the job wasn't completed until February of 2015 and we had some problems along the way. In regards to the concrete work, we asked if there would be any problems because our sprinkler system extended to the patch of grass we wanted concreted. He assured us that his guys had worked with sprinkler systems before and they knew what to do. The concrete work looked good. However, they cut and sealed the wrong end of the sprinklers and when the sprinkler system came on, we had water running under the concrete. When they concreted that area, they also removed the 3 pop up sprinkler heads that were there. They did not leave them for us. We contacted Luke in regards to this problems. However, it was difficult to get anything done. He sent over a couple of people that started to trench our back yard looking for the problem and couldn't figure it out. We told Luke we wanted it fixed professionally and he could hire someone or we would. We ended up hiring Oklahoma Irrigation to fix the problem, which they did an excellent job and you couldn't even tell where they dug in the back yard. We paid them $425.00 for the work and provided Luke with a copy of the check. Luke told us that he would reimburse us the money and return or replace the sprinkler heads. The stain was applied during the cold months with it being wet and damp out. They would stain on a good day, but the temperature would be pretty cold and then we would have rain or some other kind of moisture. We asked again when things got pushed back so far if we should wait until the spring to have it stained. Luke told us that the weather wouldn't be a problem and that it would actually last longer if it took longer to dry. After they sprayed, we called Luke because you could see that the stain had lightened significantly with the weather and the rest of the fence wasn't as dark as the gate and they had missed the top of the fence in several areas. He sent them to spray again. There were other little problems here and there and I am so ready to be done with this job. However, it is still not closed since Luke hasn't reimbursed the money we spent to repair the damage from the concrete guys and hasn't returned the sprinkler heads. My husband contacted Luke last week and Luke assured him that he would get be contacting him this week. It's Friday and we haven't heard a word and this isn't the first time he didn't follow thru on what he told us.
Description of Work: Fenced our back yard, put in 3 walk thru gates and 1 drive thru gate. Extended our driveway approx. 12'x18' and filled in a grassy area with concrete that was approx. 10'x10'. Capped and stained the fence.

First day tear down old fence and set new galvanized steel post went well. Weather was cold and damp. Crew leader said he would need two days to let the post set up. He had problems with his tow vehicle on the day he was suppose to return and did not show. He did show up two days later and finished the job. The standard of work was excellent. They did everything I ask them to do and even though it took several days longer than expected, I was very happy with the finished product.

Project started off on a great note when Luke showed up at the appointed time and place for the estimate and again for the meeting to discuss options. He was timely and if he ran behind I was notified immediately without the usual contractor "stories". Because we have dogs, Luke agreed to only take down as much fence as he could replace each day. This was only possible because the original steel posts were able to be reused. The fence was assembled on site, no panels yet they have the finished, even look of a manufactured panel. Of course, we ran into problems, but Luke was able to propose solutions and keep the job on schedule. It ran to three days to ensure the gate was perfect. The only problem we had was caused by the original home builder. The wall wasn't plumb but the gate needed to be adjusted so that everything appeared plumb and level. Luke provided outstanding customer support and had a minimal impact on my neighbors, one of whom wants to hire his company as well. Very pleased!

Luke runs a good business and his crews are engaged and communicate well. There was a problem (not theirs) with AT&T dropping a brand new U-Verse line into my and my neighbors yard which did not show up on the dig markings done by okie. They contacted me promptly and let me know what the issue was, what delay would be incurred and when AT&T was arriving to fix the issue. When the work was done Luke came by and personally walked the fence, asked if I had any questions or concerns and we also spent some time talking about future plans such as decks, etc. and he had great ideas and suggestions. You can tell he is invested in his work and is truly interested in what types of things customers want to do in the realm of fencing and decking. I plan to continue to use Tiller Fence for future projects.

We were initially impressed by Mr. Tiller because he quickly responded to our inquiry for an estimate. He came out the next day, measured and presented us with an estimate that we thought was fair. We had to wait a few weeks as he had jobs ahead of us, but he kept us informed of when he would be available and we appreciate that he was so honest. We had looked at vinyl fencing at various local home building stores, but felt that the product offered by Mr. Tiller was far superior. His installers did a great job of assuring that the fence was straight and were asking for feedback as they installed the fence. Our property is not level, so they had to make a lot of adjustments to make the fence look right and they were successful. We highly recommend Mr. Tiller for anyone wanting a fence installed in a professional manner.

Luke and his crew did an excellent job building a very sturdy deck with roof and the ramp. The finished product turned out beautiful and is better than we had planned. The only draw back during the whole process was the rain delay which could not be helped. They kept us informed and listened well to any concerns as well as answering questions that we had. We are very proud of the job they did for us and would recommend them to anyone!

I phoned Luke to get an estimate. He came out within a couple of days. He informed me it would be 3 weeks or so before he could start the job because of prior jobs already scheduled. He kept me posted as to when he could start. They started the job on Monday and completed the job on Thursday. It rained on Wednesday. I am on a hill in a high wind location so for the columns Luke suggested 8X8 posts. It is massive and should withstand just about anything that Oklahoma can throw at it, except maybe an F5. Everything was built on site. It turned out beautiful. I am very pleased with the finished product. The crew was very professional even though I made a couple of changes to the plan midway.

First, they took 3 months to complete a job that I was told would take a little over 2 weeks. Fence looks very nice, however, they left a considerable amount of debris for around 2 weeks and needed prompting to come pick it up. Nothing seemed to be completed on time and they took a lot of prompting to get the project started or get work completed. Trash and debris was left on site after each stage of the project. Damage was done to drain system and didn't get fixed until they came to get the check. Manual was never provided nor was I shown how the gate operated until 2 weeks after the project was completed. Having some issues and while the owner has told me he will come out and check the gate, no time has been set nor has he contacted me to offer to come out.

Based on reviews on Angie's list we called Tiller Fence to come out and quote front fencing on both sides of the house and one side having a gate. Luke said he would come out the afternoon of June 6th to quote. Then he contacted my husband to say he would have to change the time and come out at 10:15am on June 6th. We called to confirm that morning and he told us he would not come out because it was raining but if we could measure he would give us a quote. We gave him the measurements on the phone and he said he would e-mail us a quote. June 9th I called and asked about the quote and he apologized saying that he had been out of town but he would have it to me by June 10th. It is June 13th and I have not heard anything. I know it is a small job and will not bring in much money, but I would just appreciate the courtesy of a company honoring their word even if it is to tell me it is not worth their time instead of wasting mine.

Mixed results. Feel like the fence was good quality and a fair price. But, workers were unreliable, and it took longer than it should have. Workers were careless--put dusty concrete bags on outdoor furniture cushions, ruining them. Also, damaged the sprinkler heads and lines which had been flagged and when brought to his attention, made excuses and said he wasn't responsible for the lines (which are easy to know where they are since they run in straight lines between the marked sprinkler heads).

Response from Tiller Fence & Deck
[member name removed] I am sorry for your experience with the fence. We all ways want to give a good quality product and installation, which we both agree happened. How ever I am sorry that you feel bad about my workers. As you and I discussed when we did the fence for you, my lead foreman Daniel was having some medical issues and was not feeling well. He had many Dr appointments during that time and was unable to work full days. I did bring other workers over to help pick up the slack and get the job done for you. Again I am sorry or your experience with my workers I wish it could have run more smoothly. If you have any issues with the fence please give us a call. As for the sprinkler lines we have a discloser in our contract that is very clear that we don't cover any items that we cant see such as sprinkler lines and water lines. How ever we always work with our customers to help get them fixed and if it is something we can fix right then we will do so. We just aren't set up to fix everything. The out door furniture did get some concrete on them while they were walking by. We were working in some very tight quarters around a pool and again apologized and tried to clean everything up as we went and were done. I came over several times during the week to make sure things were being picked up and not just trashed. The out door chairs that got some concrete dust on them cleaned off just fine so I don't' know how they are ruined and if we ruined them I will be glad to pay for them. I would not want my stuff damaged at my house either and I respect peoples property. Please call me to get the matter addressed 405-474 2209

Tiller fence did a great job on our new home! We called them a few weeks before our move to set up the service. They were here on time and did the work quickly. They assured my family that the fence would be done that weekend and despite the rain, they worked hard to finish the fence. We are extremely pleased with the fence! It is the best looking fence in the neighborhood. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work for a reasonable price.

Luke provided an estimate for the privacy fence, including a new gate, labor and haul-off of the old fence. The final price did not vary from the estimate. The fence was installed in two phases: installation of the posts and then installation of the fence itself. The work crew was very competent, worked quickly and let me know when they would be completing each installation phase. After completing the fence, I noticed the gate wasn't hanging plumb with the fence. I sent an e-mail, letting Mr Tiller there was a problem with the gate. His crew was back out within the week and fixed the gate. Mr Tiller's crew was especially courteous and helpful. I would recommend Tiller Fence and would use them again.
