Would not hire!!
Description of Work: On Feb 10, 2017, I asked for pricing on large wood gate and installation. Mr Tiller came by and said he would quote shortly. After about 2 weeks went by, I re-contacted him and he did not respond to my 2nd request.. So I put him in the "too busy" to quote me a price. Sad communication skills if any.

Getting the work scheduled was an issue because of delays caused by the adjoining neighbor. Luke had other jobs scheduled,so the delay was expected and not a cause for concern. The job was commenced as promised and took three days to complete.
Description of Work: Over 100 feet of dilapidated fencing was removed and replaced with an 8 ft. cedar fence supported by 40 schedule steel posts. Itwas scheduled and completed on time and to our satisfaction. The fence looks great. Luke was great to work with and we couldnot be happier.

Once the crew did show up they worked hard two days straight till the sun went down!To the credit of he and his crew: Mr Tiller put up a good quality fence, one board at a time-tightly spaced in EXTREME heat. They took special care of a favored plant and promptly removed ALL debris.
Description of Work: Mr Luke Tiller was prompt on his estimate, but notifications after that were somewhat lacking.

Luke was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. It took a bit longer for him to get to the actual work, but considering the price and the quality it was well worth the wait. The crew were working in 105 degree heat and still got the fence down, holes dug and posts placed in one day. Came back over the weekend to complete the job in even worse heat. The workers were very polite and helpful and did a great job. Cleaned up after themselves well, too.
Description of Work: Removed old stockade fence. Replaced it with white cedar fencing and stainless steel poles. Capped the entire fence.

Luke met with us promptly to give us a bid. During this meeting, he recommended using oversized posts to match our porch. He emailed our bid the same day. When I asked for a bid on a different design, he responded promptly. Even though his bid was higher than the other one we obtained, we chose to use him because we liked his design so well. There were some weather delays that affected the start of the job. When he was actually supposed to start it, he discovered the oversized posts had to be ordered which caused an additional minor delay. When his crew started the tear out of the chain link fence, he raised a concern about two large shrub stumps that had grown into the fence. He said he had not included their removal in his estimate; however, I reminded him that he had included shrub removal on another part of the fence estimate. My husband actually had to use his chainsaw to help Rick remove enough of the stumps to build the new fence. They completed the fence installation in a very timely manner, and it is beautiful. We love how well it matches our house, and we continue to receive compliments from neighbors. We are very pleased with our fence and Luke's work. We have also considered having a matching fence and automatic gate installed on the other side of the house, However, we have experienced some delays and lack of responsiveness. We have been negotiating with him on the price. He has not called or shown up when promiseda few times even when he initiated the contact. Nevertheless, we would definitely use him again because we liked his work so well provided we can reach agreement on the price and he can work us into his schedule.
Description of Work: Luke removed 48' of chain link fence and replaced it with a cedar fence designed to match our 100-year-old craftsman-style house. He installed 8" x 8" posts with custom designed caps that matched our porch posts.

I made several special request of them, and they complied with all of them in a very satisfactory way. They were very good about cleaning up the work site when finished. Luke was prompt in keeping his appointments, returning phone calls, and replying to my emails. They are very professional, and build an excellent fence, one picket at a time (no pre-fab cheap fence panels). The fence looks great. I would not hesitate to use them again, and would heartily recommend them to anyone in the OKC area.
Description of Work: They removed my old cedar picket fence and built new fence in it's place. I'M UPDATING THIS REPORT 10/2/12 (approx. 3+ months after the fence installation). The reason for this update is as follows: When the fence was contracted and subsequently installed, I expressed concern to Luke about how thin the individual fence pickets were (only 1/2 inch instead of the more traditional 5/8 - 3/4 inch pickets). Now, a few months after installation, my concerns have been substantiated. The individual pickets were "green" not "cured" pickets, and they are really starting to shrink, warp and bend. The fence still looks pretty good, but not nearly as good as when it was installed. Because the cedar pickets were "green" the gap between many of the panels is now a full 1/2 inch. This is NOT normal for a cedar picket fence. The gap should be no more than 1/4 inch. My only complaint is with the quality of the Cedar pickets. I wish that I had insisted on him purchasing and installing the more expensive 5/8 - 3/4 inch panels, and had insisted on "cured" pickets vs. "green" pickets. Luke is a really nice guy and overall will build you a good fence, BUT IF YOU WANT YOUR PICKETS TO REMAIN STRAIGHT, WITH A MAXIMUM OF 1/4 INCH GAP BETWEEN THE WOOD PICKETS, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT LET HIM INSTALL HIS STANDARD 1/2" X 6" UNCURED CEDAR PICKETS. If and when my fence has to be rebuilt, that's what I'm going to do, and if he cannot or doesn't want to do so, then I'll have to look elsewhere for the work to be done.

I lost half of my back fence in the April 13th tornado. After waiting 5 weeks for another company to get to my fairly small job I cancelled my request and called Tiller Fence Company. They were out right away and had my new fence finished in just a few days. It was a busy time for everyone and I appreciated their response. Also, my 3 dogs appreciated getting their freedom back after being so restricted. I hope to have them back next year to replace another area of aging fence. It looks pretty sad up against the beautiful new fence.
Description of Work: Installed new metal fence posts and red cedar wood fence across back of property. I lost half of my back fence in the April 13th tornado. The quality of their work was wonderful. They actually positioned each fence board individually. It looks great! So much better than what was there and with metal posts now it will be much stronger.

He showed up on the planned upon date and time to discuss details about what needed to be done.Luke sent an itemized estimate on the total cost of the job as well as a break down of expenses - just like my husband requested. Then Luke and my husband agreed upon a price and a start date.Luke and his team showed up on the agreed upon date and got to work. Took them one day to take down the old fence and start putting in new poles. Due to rain, took them an extra day to finish setting poles. Then two days to put up the new fence. Luke was friendly as well as the rest of his crew. They worked hard and got things done like they said they would. I am impressed with the way our fence looks and how it adds to the look of our home.

Once I was ready to have this company start my fence, they got it started and finished in just a few days with no delay. I would not hesitate to refer them to family or friends. .
Description of Work: The price was reasonable especially after I received several other estimates. The materials used were excellent and the job performed was everything I expected. There was no damage to my flower beds which really surprised me. I was also very happy to find out the young man who was in charge of the labor had been with the company for many years.

The bidding process was satisfactory but disappointing in two respects. First, I found it disconcerting to speak with someone who was wearing ear buds the whole time. That's just a personal gut reaction, but I like to feel that a contractor is really listening to me, so I found this minor thing unnerving. Second, the price was $4000 higher than another bid from a highly reputable local builder. Both bids were for composite decking, and Tiller's bid was based on ordinary material from a local warehouse, not anything special, so I went with the lower bid.
Description of Work: Luke Tiller provided a bid for removal of an old deck and construction of a new 437 square foot composite deck. He did not do the work because I chose a much lower bid.

I had several phone conversations with Mr. Tiller before and after his repair estimate. I was impressed by his knowledge of the high winds in my area and what it would take to ensure the fence would hold up to them. We negotiated a price which, at the time I felt was a little high, but fair. (I'm cautious of someone telling me I need a new engine when I really only need an oil change) Mr. Tiller never asked for any money upfront. Once the poles were set, I knew I had hired the right person for the job. They were straight and exactly the same distance apart. When I first saw the new fence I was shocked - so perfect! Mr. Tiller was very sensitive to my time. He knew that I spent alot of time at work and he was able to complete the project without intruding on my time. Overall the experience was great. I received quality workmanship at an extremely reasonable price. I will recommend Tiller Fence to anyone who asks.
Description of Work: A large section of old privacy fence had sustained damage over the years from high winds. Parts of the fence had recently blown over. Luke Tiller and his crew removed the old fence, dug up the existing metal poles (some had to be cut at the base) and hauled off all the old material. Much stronger metal poles were then concreted into the ground more than two feet. After the concrete had set, they returned and installed a beautiful wooden 6' privacy fence. The top and bottom are level and the spacing between the pickets is perfect. The cedar he chose for the project is wonderful.

Luke responded quickly to our request for an estimate. He made excellent suggestions about how the job should be done. He and his crew removed the old fence and built a beautiful cedar fence that should last for many years. Work was done in a timely manner. There were a couple of problems during the project (not his fault) but everything was handled professionally. I would recommend Luke and his company to anyone needing fence work.

Luke Tiller was very nice to deal with and his crew did a great quality job, I am very pleased with how he suggested a change to correct a problem with a faulty gate and reposition it and rebuild it for a better quality and functioning gate and a new fence section with metal posts to provide a sturdier fence panel than the one that had been storm damaged in the spring.

Luke called me back (many fence companies would not) and was polite and helpful from the beginning. He assessed the fence quickly and offered to have his crew help remove old chain link that was unnecessary and unsightly. He gave me an estimate the next day of the work and cost, and then adjusted when we decided to use the same vinyl fence as our neighbors to match. He told me they would start the job in about 2 weeks, and it was just about 2 weeks later. We experienced some frustrations finding the gas line (Okie turned up multiple lines in odd places) and so Luke had the holes dug by hand in those areas. We had to stretch it out over the 4th of July, but that was just a fluke of scheduling and a brief rain that delayed a few other jobs. We are very happy with the fence and have appreciated Luke and his crew's work. Just today, for example, a few weeks after the job was finished, he returned to remove a few old t posts that we had both forgotten to remove. In 108 degrees, no less.
Description of Work: Luke and his crew removed approximately 200 feet of old fencing. Some of that did not require new fencing, but they added some 33 feet of vinyl and another 150 feet of cedar stockade fence complete with steel posts and a 2x6 cap.

I found Tiller Fence Comapny by checking Angie's List. I called Luke to set up a time to meet. Since we live out of town, and Luke was in the middle of a couple of other jobs, it took a bit of scheduling to get our appointment set, but we eventually did and he was on time for our appointment. Our estimate included taking out the old fence sections and two gates which were damaged by a recent wind storm, hauling off the old material, setting new steel posts in concrete, and installing new fence sections and gates. He gave me an estimate for the entire job, but also an estimate for one side of the fence for which our neighbor was willing to share the cost. As the job got started, Luke called and said that there was a little more work that needed to be done pulling out old posts and gave me the added cost. (In the end he was willing to lower that amount because the work was not a difficult as he'd first thought!) The new fence is great, the gates work smoothly and it's all sturdy and straight.
Description of Work: Luke Tiller and his company replaced fencing along two sides of our backyard. (Neighbors to the back had already replaced that section.) The job included tearing out the old fence and hauling it off; setting new steel posts and installing new fence sections.

Luke came by to measure for an estimate within a day of contacting him, then emailed us the estimate. They installed the steel posts on a Friday, the runners (horizontal boards) on Monday and finished building the fence (individual boards, not panels) on Tuesday. The fence is beautiful, perfectly straight and very strong. The gates work smoothly. I was impressed by the crew's attention to detail, they even continued working in the rain. The neighbors and ourselves will be enjoying this fence for a long time. I would recommend Tiller Fence!
Description of Work: Luke and his crew replaced our entire fence after the wind storm (June 2011) blew most of it down. (The price was for the entire fence, but he wrote us a separate invoice to give to adjoining neighbors.)

Trust is very important when dealing with contractors, especially when you live over 200 miles away from the project. Luke and his crew proved to be very trustworthy and did exactly what they said they would do in the time frame promised. I am very happy with the project overall.
Description of Work: Luke Tiller was recommended to me to replace a wood fence for a rental property that I own in Norman, Ok. Luke was very fair in his pricing. He described the materials that could be used and did not hesitate to give me several different quotes, in writing, using different types of materials. He is a top quality professional and is willing to work with just about any situation. I even called him the day before the project was to start and asked that since he was hauling off the old fence if he wouldn't mind tearing down a metal shed that was in poor shape and hauling that off at the same time. It had to take at least a couple of hours to add this on and he only charged me an extra $30.00. I would recommend him for pricing, quality, and pride in his workmanship.
