They did a great job! I would strongly recommend them. They showed up on time, and they did exactly they said they would do. Also, they charged us what they said they would charge us.

I am happy with my fence. What I liked is that the finished product is really good. The only down thing is that may be limited people having to wait to get the fence done. They were very professional.

Luke Tiller and Tiller Fence and Deck was recommended to me by a trusted friend in the landscape business. I had been taking quotes from 2 or 3 other fence companies and weighing the possibility of building it myself. When I called Luke, we discussed what I wanted over the phone and I guess he came out and measured the job. He called me back and we discussed a couple ways of doing the job. I wanted a cement curb in the ground but to my surprise concrete is high! In a nutshell Luke said he could do my fence with a concrete curb for like 2300.00. I repaeted back to him, "I can get a turnkey fence with a cement curb for 2300?" He told me yes. I got a paper bid from him via email. It had our a greed upon price at the bottom, but there was an entry that had fence materials and labor for 1800.00 above. The two entries were not added together anywhere on the bid. The last number on the bid was the number we agreed upon over the phone. Well I signed the bid and sent it back. Work commences and everything is going great. I still have not met Luke. Concrete is poured his people are very nice. Fence goes up and it is time to settle up. I asked him how to pay him because I had not seen him and I am paying cash. He asked me to leave the money hidden in my backyard somewhere. I leave 2000.00 because some of the fine details on my fernce are not buttoned up and I didn't want to pay until the fence was complete. Well then the bomb drops. Luke get by and picks up his payment and informs me it is about 2000.00 light. I was blown away. Apparently in a bid from Tiller Fence the customer HAS to make sure they add all the numbers to get their total. Even though the LAST number on the bid was the number I discussed with Luke as a TURNKEY number for my fence, I still had to add other numbers to get my bid total. If the bid had reflected a final number of 4000.00 I would NOT have had the work done. It gets worse. I still to this day do not have a functioning gate that will close properly. 4 of the fence panels do not have all the screws holding them in and my mom's dog can get out of the yard by crawling under a spot where the fence meets the faulty gate. I have made Luke aware of all of this yet nothing has happened. He has stopped returning my calls, and I have still never met him. I believe that Luke feels bad about what happened but cannot man up and come fix my fence properly. To this point I paid premium dollars for a fence that simply does not work. One more thing. Luke was going to overcharge me for concrete if I hadn't measured it myself. He charged me for 100 feet but there was only 90 feet, and his concrete people left a pile of concrete in my yard. I had to complain just to get that moved. DON'T USE TILLER FENCE AND DECK!!!

He rarely talked, he measured, and then he e-mailed and gave us the estimate. He was pretty straightforward. My experience with him was great.

The only issue was some delays throughout the job, but these delays were primarily due to weather and some difficulty getting the utilities marked for excavation. Once the fence was in, we were very satisfied with the work! Also initially we were wanting to put a deck in as well, but when we decided to postpone this the contractor worked with us and was able to return the materials. Overall the contractor was very sensitive to our budget and worked to make sure we got what we wanted at a price we could afford.

I know that there have been both good and bad reviews written about Tiller Fence and Deck. This I believe is a good review. Luke and his crew have done a good job for me. We had some scheduling issues, some of which were my fault and most were due to weather. They are a service company and just like any plumber, electrician etc., they have issues with some jobs running longer than usual. But as a consumer, I called them they did not call me. So it is up to me to stay in touch and see where we are at as far as materials and time. This is an extremely busy time of year for them and I was very willing to work with Luke on when I could expect them to arrive. Above all else one has to be patient. He was always very gracious, upfront and honest and did his level best to provide me the fencing that I needed. I highly recommend him and his crew. They were very neat about their work and did excellent clean up. And now I have a beautiful fence, that should last for years! Mary

It was a good experience. They did the work in a timely fashion. They showed up when they were suppose to. I felt that it was a good quality fence. Truthfully, I was happy with the fence but not so with the concrete work.

He does beautiful work, but he has a problem with time. Other than that he does nice work. They were very efficient, they tried to compensate us in ways for the fact that he didn't show when he said he would. I understood he was busy and stuff like that, but he could have let us know. But his work was outstanding. Demeanor was good - fine, wonderful. Punctuality was the only problem. I would use him again because I liked the quality of his work.

I sent an email to this company on May 13th, 2013, requesting an estimate about adding some additional stockade fence panels to my existing fence. I never heard back from them (as of May 28th). My speculation and opinion is that since this would not be a "big money-maker" job for them, they didn't want to bother. Will not ever contact them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. The least they could have done was to have the common business courtesy to tell me they didn't want to bother with this "small" job (which wouldn't have made them the thousands that installing a complete stockade fence would).

He was prompt with the quote. And for a custom fences it was a fair price

Mr. Tiller answered my call promptly and we were able to schedule my repairs. He said it would be about 2 weeks and he kept his word. The old fence was hauled off and the new fence installed in a timely manner and it looks great. I would recommend to others and would use them again.

A section of my fence came down in a storm. I just needed to have new posts and about 5 panels replaced. I called three fence companies, and Tiller responded first. They were prompt, professional, neat, and thorough.

Everything went fine. The work was done in a timely fashion. Luke is very professional and did everything he said he would do. I would definitely recommend Tiller Fence and Deck to friends and relatives.

Luke Tiller responded quickly to a request for an estimate, by responding to my phone call and then by appointment to review the job. Estimate was complicated by the number of segments involved, due to several different property owners. Luke was willing to provide an estimate that was broken down into segments so that I could discuss with adjacent property owners. Luke was very patient while I worked with the other property owners. It was decided that we would replace one section of fencing and repair another, leaving a third segment to be done at some future date. Even though scheduling didn't go as planned, Luke did an excellent job keeping me posted and working with me on schedule changes. Work was performed in very professional manner, with respectful consideration of pets and neighbors. Old fencing was removed very quickly and work area cleanup was excellent. I will definitely consider using Luke Tiller Fence Co. for future work, though with the quality of work and materials used on this job, I don't expect to replace this fence for quite some time.

I only had one side of fencing replaced along with a new gate installed. He hauled off my old fencing from a home tear down at a small additional cost. His worker worked late until the job was finished.

Mr. Tiller, the owner, met with me at my house to discuss the project and take measurements as scheduled. He emailed me two quotes for the options we discussed by close of business the next day. I needed to discuss the quotes with my neighbor and got back to Mr. Tiller with our choice several days later. We scheduled a date to begin the project and he gave me the phone number of the local utilities locating service. I scheduled the appointment with the locating service prior to the date the fence project was scheduled to start and arranged my work schedule so that I could be present when the new posts were set. The day prior to the start date, Mr. Tiller called to inform me he had another project which had run over schedule and that his crew would not be able to begin work until the following day. I was unable to adjust my work schedule to accomodate the change, but Mr. Tiller stated that he would be on site to supervise the post setting and that he was confident his crew would be able to finish by the scheduled end date of the project if they used quick set concrete and didn't run into any unusual circumstances. They arrived on time the following day and completed the project on schedule. An extra fence section was required to complete the run and Mr. Tiller provided that without adjusting the estimate. By the time I got home from work, the new fence was installed and the old fence had been removed. It looks great and feels solid. Both my neighbor and I are pleased with the results.

Overall the job went well. From the time I signed and returned the Bid, the work was completed within 30 days (Luke had jobs scheduled for three weeks out). After work began inclement weather delayed construction for two days. Aside from the weather delay, the work progressed nicely. Luke was responsive; he initiated contact daily and answered his phone and/or promptly returned my calls when he was unavailable. His bid was competitive and fair. I highly recommend Tiller Fence and Deck.

I called Luke about a month ago to come out so I could show him what I wanted done. I had a picture of a fence gate that was really pretty, and wanted to see if he could make something like it. We walked the entire fence line to see what kind of shape the fence was in. The back fence is rotting and needs to be replaced, but since it's 80' long, I decided to put off full replacement until next year, so he suggested just removing and replacing individual pickets that were bowed or warped. The side fence next to the gate had to be replaced, because the people who installed it before did a horrible job with it and the gate. Luke figured everything up and gave me a written estimate broken down by all the individual components of the job which included materials and labor. The job had to be postponed a couple of times due to weather, which was no fault of his. He had his crew do a lot of the work, and then he came back out the following morning to check on it, make any adjustments I wanted, and did a little more work on the gate to get it just like I wanted. He asked me several times if there was anything else I wanted done, and made absolutely sure I was satisfied. Luke was just wonderful to work with, and I will be calling him and no one else in the future for all fencing needs. As to the price, I don't know if it was high, low, or average, so I rated the cost as "good" instead of "excellent".

Would have gone really great had it not been for the rain, put a delay on the project. The fence looks great as do the gates. I went with a 1 X 6 Cedar with galvanized schedule 40 steel posts. The guys were great.

Although it took some time to negotiate cost and coordinate schedules, Luke and his crew arrived on the day and time scheduled. They worked efficiently and completed the job very quickly. The automatic gate operates smoothly and the fence is beautiful. Since Luke built our original fence, we have been the envy of the neighborhood. The new gate and fence adds a stately finish to our home.

It went great with little inconvience mostly for my dog.

My first contact with Luke Tiller of Tiller Fence and Deck was in Nov. 2011. He was able to provide an estimate in a timely fashion as well as direct me to the web site of the vinyl fence manufacturer. After researching the various manufacturers of vinyl fencing products I came to the conclusion that Luke had recommended the highest quality product. ( a very good indicator of a high quality contractor) By July 2012 I had the funds to have the fence installed and hired Luke to do the job. I could go on to say that the job went smoothly and flawlessly, however that would not be entirely true.On day 1 the 7 posts were installed. The following morning I noticed that the last 2 posts ( #6 & #7) were installed about 3" too high. This was a major problem as the 3 fence rails would be going uphill.....very unsightly! I called Luke and explained the problem. He immediatedly asked if I wanted the posts dug up and reset. My response was that I saw with no other way to solve the issue. Keep in mind that these posts were set 4' deep with three 80 lb bags of concrete! Bottom line: Luke personally busted concrete and reset the posts perfectly without so much as a whimper. Conclusion: Problems may arise on any given job. What separates one contractor from another is how promptly and cheerfully the problem is handled. Luke reinforced my initial opinion of him and his company.....Hard working, honest and willing to go out of his way to insure customer satisfaction. I am very pleased with the new vinyl fence....so much so that I hired Luke again to install a short run of 4' chain link fence and gate as well as replace 106' of old rusty chain link fabric. Again a job well done. I give my highest recommendation to Luke and Matt (lead installer). PS Three vinyl rails were damaged in transport from the manufacturer and needed to be replaced. Again Luke performed flawlessly. He ordered 3 replacements and returned to exchange out the damaged rails. Thanks to Tiller Fence and Deck for a job well done!!
