Gentleman was punctual and professional. The service itself though was very underwhelming and lackluster. I imagined it being a through inspection of my sprinkler system, as it was implied on the purchase. For sure, no sprinklers were "adjusted". Instead, it was digging up the valve to it and shutting it off. Nowhere near as detailed as expected, and honestly something that I could have done myself. I wouldn't recommend that particular service, as it didn't seem like a "special" service except for those who may be unwilling to do a small bit of manual labor. I'm not the biggest fan of sprinklers, so it may just stay shut off until further notice, but I won't use him to re-activate the system.

Contractor came and looked at what we had and what we needed. The crew came Saturday as promised. When they finished the job, the area was cleaned up, the new trenches were filled in and the sprinklers worked as designed. We would heartily recommend Jim Joyce for whatever services he would provide.

He came by promptly at the appointment time. He unclogged the front head and reset the patterns if 3 heads in backyard. In addition he inspected all heads as well as the controller box. I plan to use him in the future as the need arises.

Responded quickly, came the next day, fixed it in an hour or so, cleaned up well. Very professional, I will use them again.

Well they came out to give me a quote for installing a lawn sprinkler system and that was it.....two months later no quote and no contact.

Purchased Angie's List deal for the three services for $20. Was a great investment. Heart of Service sent a team of 3-4 who basically 'attacked' my lawn and had all three areas completed in less than 30 minutes. The edging was very precise and the trimming was great; didn't scalp any areas of the lawn although I wished they would have used a blower in my mulch to blow out all of the long grass that had been trimmed. It was communicated as to when they would be out to complete and everything went great. I was not approached by any member of the lawn team for payment, so it must've been communicated well to them that I had pre-paid using an Angie's List deal. I would definitely use them again and would reccommend them if you'd like your lawn maintained and done so quickly!

Service was excellent. I had changed sprinkler controller on my own and had not wired correctly. Jim fixed quickly and was on his way. Good guy to deal with.

It was excellent. They came out and worked quickly and found the problem. They were very good, polite, and nice young men. We were pleased with the service and they showed up on time. They got the job done in about 4 hours because they had to wait for the patch to dry.

They came on time and did a very clean and professional service. Even though the sides were long, they did edge all the sides in a very nice way.

Jim Joyce is very nice and responsive by telephone. He asked me to text him to set up service which I did. He was originally scheduled to be at my house at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. I had my husband come home from work and no one had arrived by 6:30 p.m. so I texted Jim to see if he was still coming. He immediately called me and said he was delayed but could still come that evening and arrived around 7:30. He replaced several sprinkler heads despite it being quite dark outside. It cost us an additional $40 beyond the $59 comprehensive tuneup and he was very professional. We have not tested the sprinklers but they were not working when he left (you have to pull up one of the sprinkler heads and then they all work). He said to give them time and if they were not working that he would come back. We plan to test them this weekend to make sure everything is working properly. I have no doubt he will return if they are not - he seems to be very reliable. I will update this review should anything change with the sprinkler system. We also had our lawn scheduled to be mowed that Wednesday through another's Angie's list deal (which he honored even though he explained by phone that I should not have been able to purchase both "deals.") They were scheduled to come on Wednesday and when I got home the lawn had not been mowed. I texted Jim late that evening and he immediately responded that they had just not been able to get to it that day and would come the next day. I came home Thursday to a perfectly mowed lawn. It looked wonderful. My only complaint would be the punctuality, but none of these issues were high priority for us and he was always responsive to telephone calls and text messages. I would definitely recommend him!

It worked out well. They were in and out in no time and did a wonderful job!

I was worried by noon when the crew had not yet arrived, so I called the main number. I was professionally and nicely reassured that I was on the schedule. Sure enough, the crew showed up in the late afternoon with all their equipment. Even with a large yard, they were in and out so quickly, and did an excellent job. Would hire again!

They did a very good job, very professional. They were offering a promotion for $19.00 on Angies and it was well worth it. Will use them again in the future.

I purchased the deal on Angies List and am very happy that I did. They came when they said they would and did a good job in a short time. I usually do all of those things on my own but it was really nice to get a week off. I plan on calling them again when I need another break...which could be sooner rather than later!

Jim could not have been any more professional, respectful and qualified. He assessed my needs and offered the best and most affordable solution to my irrigation problems. I was most pleased and would recommend his company to anyone.

My sprinkler system runs off the same well as my neighbor's, so a wire from my system runs into my neighbor's yard to a relay to turn on the pump in their yard. While the gas company was moving gas lines they damaged the wire in one place in my neighbor's yard, and tore up the junction where my wire was tied into their wiring system. The gas company sent out another sprinkler company to fix the problem, but that company reconnected the wires wrongly, so that my neighbor's system worked but mine did not. It turned out they had actually tied my wire's common in with my neighbor's, thus connecting the two houses' electrical systems (which should not happen). So I called Jim Joyce at Heart of Service, who had done some repairs for me before, and he brought several gadgets which helped him to track wires and figure out how they were all connected. He worked systematically through the wiring until he figured out what was improperly connected, fixed the connections, and determined that one of the wires must also be damaged somewhere underground. He located that damage and fixed it. He got everything working, and then fixed and adjusted a few bad sprinkler heads, and put the exposed junction into an in-ground box, in about five hours. After having other sprinkler guys come through and complain about what a mess our system was, and then proceed to mess it up further, and then prove unable to diagnose the problem when called back, it was a blessed relief to have Jim's calm, professional, systematic mind at work. Jim also happens to be a gem of a guy, and he even dresses professionally. The only trouble I have ever had with Jim is that sometimes he is very busy and can't come as soon as I would like, but in the future I will just wait for him to be available. I won't let anyone else touch our sprinkler control wiring ever again!

Jim Joyce was very kind. He charges time and materials rather than fixed prices; his labor rate is fair but not cheap (we paid $60 per hour), and the work took far longer than he expected because of all the roots that had grown in around our valves, which had been leaking for a couple of years, so he offered to bill us for fewer hours, but I insisted on paying him for all his time--it wasn't his fault we let them leak for so long!
