Do not hire these people. Unreliable doesn't even begin to describe them. They're irresponsible, unlicensed, and untrustworthy. They took our money and didn't finish the job.

The contractor advertised 35 years experience but the people working on my house were obviously very new to the work. After the furnace was replaced they placed a post in the middle of the closet opening which would have made removal ot the water heater or furnace impossible without first removing the post. Next they put vents in the bottom of the doors to that enclosure which caused the burner on the water heater to keep going out. To fix that, they turned the doors upside down. I had agreed to reuse the doors on the laundry room cabinets, but they reused the lumber too, not even bothering to fill the nail and screw holes from the original cabinets. The dryer vent to the roof was to be cleaned out. Instead they vented it into the utility enclosure. Afterwards they painted everything in a cheap flat white paint which was a real dirt magnet. When I complained that the cabinets should not have been painted with a flat paint and the screw and nail holes should have been filled, they repainted the cabinets in a gloss white, complete with paint drips on the surface. The contractor, Kim Fields asked that I pay her the insurance money of $13,000 up front so that she could pay the subcontractors. The expectation was that the electrical portion would be around $4000. It was actually around $400. The job was to be finished within a couple of weeks. There were days when the laborers were supposed to work but never showed and never called. The job started the end of August 2013 but the new furnace was not brought up to code until November. Once the city inspector signed off on the job, I contacted Kimberly Fields to pay the installer, Leon's Plumbing. She said the bill was more than she was told up front, but rather than going to Leon's and getting things settled, she just became unavailable and didn't answer any calls from me or from Leon's. In December I found that she had still not paid them and as a result Leon's filled suit against Kimberly Fields and me and a lien was placed on my house. Leon's went to count and dismissed the suit against me (but did not remove the lien). The court found in Leon's favor and against Kimberly Fields in the amount of $4025. This was months ago and she still has not paid them and I still have a lien on my house.

They came out on the same day that I called for an estimate. They assessed the work required and provided a reasonable estimate. They promised to pick up the materials that day and begin work the next morning. Vance worked steadily throughout the next two days to address all of the issues. We are very satisfied with his work and his professionalism. Fields Construction will be first on our list the next time we need any work done on our home.
