BMJ Computers

I called on the phone to get a quote how much it would cost to have internet explorer re-installed, as it had been disabled. I was quoted $35. When I took it in I gave the owner Bobby a list of problems I was having with my computer, he said it would be better to do a system restore and have my computer like new. I agreed to do this for $160. He said it would be ready for pick-up the next day at 2:00pm. I called at 2:00 and was told it was not ready and to give him until 4:30pm. He also told me at that time that he did not need to do a system restore, he was able to fix all the problems on my computer and the price would be cheaper. He also said that the only way he could do a system restore was by ordering the disc from the manufacturer because something on my computer was corrupted and it would of cost a lot more then the $160 he quoted me. That was great to hear. I went to pick up my computer. He told me everything he had done to it and I paid him. When I got home and hooked up my computer nothing on it was fixed. Internet explorer 32-bit was not on the computer, I could not download onto my computer and I could not get Firefox or Chrome google to work. By this time BMJ was closed. I waited until Monday to call him and asked him if he had tried to download a messenger or tested anything on it before giving it back to me. He said he had downloaded yahoo messenger and then deleted it. I told him nothing worked, nothing was fixed. He got angry and raised his voice at me saying there was nothing wrong with it when I left and I must have done something when I got it home. I'm sure the problem was with me hooking it up and turning it on. I double checked the receipt to see what I was charged for, $135 for a virus and spyware scan, remove my antivirus software and to download updates. I agreed to take the computer back in 2 days later but I did not feel comfortable going back to him after he raised his voice with me. The following day I called HP and they helped me do a system restore. It did not cost me anything because it was under warranty. My computer is only 3 months old. After the system restore everything was fixed on my computer and I can now enjoy it. This is not the first time I used BMJ. The first time I used him was in November 2010. I took my old computer in because my msn dial-up stopped working. He ran his virus and spyware scan then too. He told me everything was fixed, I took it home and still could not get msn to work. I took it back to him and he could not figure out what was wrong with it. He told me it must be my phone line. I called the phone company and there was nothing wrong with my line. I called BMJ again and he yelled at me then too. He said it had to be my phone line because there was nothing wrong with my computer. I ended up fixing my computer myself. I un-installed msn and re-installed it and it worked fine. Lesson learned I will not being going to BMJ again.

I first heard about them because I rented a space directly next to them. There's nothing I dislike about them. They were timely, efficient, and truthful. They don't charge an arm and a leg to have it repaired. They're always an A.
