Description of Work: All-Things-Etc. is amazing! They are our go-to guys for just about everything and we have been using them for quite some time now. They are our one-stop shop for every service our household and rental properties need. We could not be more pleased, and we are a very tough crowd to please! They have done a tremendous job mowing our properties all summer. They have also been removing dog waste from our personal residence and treating all our properties for weeds, insects & the Parvovirus. Here recently they did an excellent job redoing our landscaping in our front garden and also at one of our rental properties. Not only did they give us an amazing deal on organic mulch, but they also gave us & planted a free tree because of some promotion they said they were offering. Here recently we paid them $50 an hour to remove an old tree that was a huge insurance liability. They sent a professional crew out and before we were home from work our tree was gone and all the debris was cleaned up. We felt like it was a steal of a deal and gave them a large tip. We have already hired them to rake our leaves this fall and remove any snow this winter. They even gave us 25% off for these services since we paid ahead of time. And all of this is just what they have done for the outside of our properties! We are very busy professionals with several kids and foster children. The one thing we do not have is time. All-Things-Etc. has done a terrific job cleaning our home. As you can imagine our two-story home gets dirty quickly. Whenever we come home after they have been cleaning, it feels as if we are walking into a hotel. Once a month they also go and do all our grocery shopping. Whenever we forget a last minute present or need a quick errand ran, they are always quick and responsive to take care of whatever random need we may have that day. They also are our property managers for our rentals so we have them do make-readies and any painting or handyman services needed for our apartments when tenants leave. When we leave town on vacation or for business trips we have them pet & house sit. As expected, they always do an impeccable job. We trust them immensely and recommend them to everyone.

Description of Work: They did a good job but I left and went to work. I told them that it was O.K. to go over the coupon I had purchased. It went WAY over. I should have given them parameters.It just did not occur to me that it would be that expensive.

+ 0 moreThey were very good about coming over the 4th of July weekend, where other companies were booked. They were very accommodating. The owner followed up a few hours after the workers left and made sure they did a good job and that I was satisfied, which was nice.
Description of Work: We had them come and clean up our yard and get it ready to put the house on the market. They mowed our lawn, edged the lawn and cleaned out the flower beds.

Description of Work: I have used Brandon's company before to help with yard clean up and debris removal. After such a dry summer, my lawn was covered with leaves and I had a pile of brush that needed to be removed. I set up a time with Brandon to come out that was agreeable to both of us. He kept me well posted on what time he would arrive and the approximate time he would leave. I told him what I needed done. He did a wonderful job getting the leaves raked up and my brush pile removed. He was friendly with my dog and made sure she stayed inside the fence. He did a professional and efficient job. I would definitely use him again!!

+ -1 moreThey were really good. It was four hours of work, but there were two guys; so they took 2 hours. They were right on time. The guy followed up to make sure they were doing what they were supposed to do. They were very thorough and did exactly what they said they were going to. The coupon was for $99 and I paid that. They also had a fee for taking away everything that they cut down which I think was about $50. The guy told me upfront when he called to confirm the appointment that they had a disposal fee or something like that if they have to haul anything away. Since I had a coupon, it was half price and that was great. Their responsiveness and punctuality was good.
Description of Work: All-Things-etc cleared out the over growth that I had in my yard since I had a coupon from them for general yard work.

+ 0 moreWe purchased a $99.00 coupon on Angie's list for 4 hours of labor. Appointment was hard to schedule. They cancelled the first appointment due to not having a " driver" show up on the scheduled day. On the day they finally did show up, they brought 3 guys with no landscape experience and inadequate tools for our job. Essentially 4 guys rushed through an hour's worth of time doing a hasty, rather inadequate trimming. They cut the groundcover but didn't pick up the cuttings, so we were left with clippings, etc. Before they came out to do the job, we were called and told that any time over the 4 hours of the coupon would be $50.00 per person per hour, and if they hauled anything away, there would be an extra $75.00 charge. We decided that paying them $50.00 per person per hour was an outrageous charge so we dismissed them after one hour. Also 4 inexperienced day laborers for 1 hour is really not 4 hours of professional yard work. It was more like chaos. I purchased the landscaping coupon for my husband or Father's Day, hoping we might find a nice yard maintenance group that we could count on in the future. This group was definitely not it.

+ 0 moreThere was two ladies that provided the service and I think that if there was two men that the job would of gone quicker. Not that women can't do the work but it was extremely hot and there was a lot to dig and remove.

+ 0 moreI have become fully disabled and am unable to do manual labor except for simple tasks, therefore, I started searching for someone who was willing to do the landscaping for me. The house had sat empty for over a year so needless to say everything was overgrown. I purchased the half off coupon so the initial 4 manhours only cost $99. I was their last call for the day and even though it was getting late and once the 4 manhours were used I asked how much they would charge to do a bit more. The rate was below the normal cost per manhour. He finished what I asked him to do in addition to the normal work and then noted that there were a couple other bushes that he wanted to take care of as they detracted from the work they had already done. He said he could not in good conscience leave those bushes looking the way they looked. When they were finished I asked what I owed him for the extra work... his response was surprising... whatever I felt it was worth (versus the normal rate). Being a person who teaches customer service and quality work I was pleasantly surprised when Brandon told me that his primary goals were providing customer service and quality work. Then remained in contact until the actual appointment time - and they were prompt. They actually stayed longer than the two hours at no charge. They made suggestions and asked me several times throughout the process about my satisfaction and preferences. I have more work to be done, and will definitley call them back. $100 per hour is a bit high for two men, but they are professionsl, knowledgeable, and work very hard every minute they are there.
Description of Work: These two young men were awesome. I just moved into a home with a backyard completely overgrown with ivy - and other things. They cleared the ivy back to the fence, and worked to twine the ivy into the fence to promote growth on the fence rather than spread into the yard. They also removed shrubs, trimmed trees, and hauled away a trailer full of brush.,

Description of Work: Two young men cleaned out flower beds and moved rocks. They checked with me on all projects and cleaned up all trash before they left. Very professional and most definitely will be contacting them again. they went above and beyond what I had asked them to do. It has been a long time since I have gotten 2 hrs work done for the 2 hrs paid . Highly recommend this company.

+ 0 moreTwo very nice young men reported to do the work at 2 p.m. -- three hours late, but they did call. Our request (stated at time the appointment was made), was for planting about 6 flats of Purple Heart and 12-15 Ice plants, and then to pull weeds in beds as they spread mulch (I had15 bags ready to be spread). Also to take down a broken tree limb and to trim up 3 small shrubs. They had most of the tools they would need for the job. While meticulous and conscientious -- in that in two hours, they had not completed nearly what I had expected for in the planting. I was willing to pay for additional time to get all the work completed, and I did give them 2 more hours at $100 per hour (full rate). Also, it wasn't appearing that the 15 bags of mulch I had would be enough to cover the beds (putting it on too deep and didn't liven up any of the old -- inexperience?) and so I asked, if I were to make a run to get more 20 more bags of mulch, would they have time to spread them. (they said yes; and so I got them.) Result: They ran out of time and I had them wrap it up at 6 p.m with most of the work unfinished. Of the 35 bags of mulch, they had spread about 10, leaving 25 for me to spread later; and the run to get the 20 more was unnecessary -- none of those were used. Also most of the ice plants will have to be replanted because they were planted too close to the fronts of the beds; and none of the shrubs were trimmed. I hate to be a critic of a couple of guys who really wanted to do a good job -- but as I look at what was accomplished in 8 man hours and $300 -- it wasn't very much. I'm very disappointed, and I still need the work done.
Description of Work: Order No. 328135 Family Affair Lawn Care $99 for 4 Man Hours of Spring Yard Clean-Up! Ordered May 21, 2012 Services performed May 31, 2012 . the work was at my residence in Edmond. I provided a written, detailed list of what I wished to have done: To take down a broke tree limb. To plant about 6 flats of Purple Heart and 12-15 ice plants (4") To trim and shape three small shrubs (about 3' high) To remove some weeds as they spread mulch in all the beds around the house -- had had 15 bags of very expensive mulch ready to apply (about $8.50/bag). I also showed them how they could use a claw tool to "liven up" a lot of the existing mulch and then just add new mulch as needed. They did not indicated that this would be too much to do in 2 hours.

+ -1 moreTwo young gentleman showed and wer VERY pleasant. They asked what I needed. I asked them to trim the shrubs and trees. Since I know nothing about landscaping I asked them to trim as they would in their homes. The did a great job and cleaned up my trees and shrubs. Also cuting the neighbors shrubs coming through my fence. They did a terrific job cleaning my flower beds. The thing that impressed me the most; is the fact they asked several times if I was satisfied or needed something else. I would highly recommend this company. The only con is they did not haul off the trimmings. Although they cut them to Moore requirements; I am unable to mow my yard until they are removed. They would haul this small pile with an additional charge. I did not realize this want not included.Despite this, please do not hesitate to hire this company. The job performed was GREAT.

Description of Work: Cleaned up two small flower beds and trimmed a crape myrtle tree. They removed all the old mulch, dug out some very tough growing holly and covered the area with landscaping fabric. They also hauled off all of the debris.

In addition he gave us a more than fair price on yard clean-up including raking all of our leaves and trimming our bushes and trees. Brandon and his crew completed all of this work within a couple of weeks. We were very pleased with all of their work as they did a fantastic job on the lawn and trees. We will be using them for our future lawn care needs.

The gate was blown off its hinges within days of his "repair". He told me this was not a fix but just an evaluation.Totally unhappy with results.

Description of Work: We hired them to come out install our Christmas lights. They were so great at completing tasks and paying attention to detail that we went ahead and asked them to help us paint the inside of our house. While they were there working, I heard that one of them knew how to repair engines, so I asked him to fix my power washer. By the end of the weekend, they had helped with our Christmas lights, painted my sons room and repaired our power washer. All-Things-Etc. is definitely a full service company.

+ 4 moreBrandon and Caroline of Family Affair Lawn Care were fabulous! We never had to worry about our house: the team at Family Affair are conscientious self-starters, and their charges were more than fair. We give our strongest endorsement to Family Affair Lawn Care.
Description of Work: We initially hired them to keep the lawn mowed on our for-sale house after we'd moved out of town, but they did so much more. They worked as a property management team, keeping watch on the property, mowing the lawn, watering trees, interior painting, exterior painting, and alerting us about problems (such as a spider infestation). Once the house was under contract, they completed (or found and supervised someone to complete) the small repairs required for the home warranty. Not only that, but they made sure we had enough help on hand to help us complete the move (clearing out the garage and the storage building).
