+ -1 moreContacted "All Day Chimney" service and scheduled a cleaning and inspection for the following week. We were quoted $125 for the service. They arrived near the appointment time and began work. Very good job of protecting house from ash. About 1 hour into the service, the technician "hollered" through the chimney as he was on the roof and told me that this was going to cost in excess of $400 due to it being an oversized chimney and a steep roof. After some discussion, we agreed to a price of $250 and he completed the job. Everything appears to be done properly, but we won't know until next fall/winter when we begin to use our fireplace again. As for the inspection, we were never informed as to the condition, so we can only "guess that it was okay"? After the technician left, and looking from the ground, it appears that the screen on the top of the chimney appears to not have been fully attached to keep rodents and birds out. Only time will tell, once I am able to get on the roof and look for myself.

Description of Work: Contractor showed up in broken down van. Left oil stain on my driveway. No tools...had to borrow mine. Found out leak came from steam hose to dryer vent. I told them I’d fix it. They did check vent. No clog issue. Had to beg him to go up into attic to check. Left dirt everywhere. Also, I paid twice as much as I should have since I had to clean up after them. I tried calling back to complain about the price after thinking it over. They never returned phone call. Nice guys, but I would never hire again. Don’t know how they got such a high rating on Angie’s list???? It’s really a fly-by-night operation.

+ -1 moreHe was cleaning the chimney when his brush got stuck. He said my chimney pipe narrowed (?). It took him 1.5 hrs to get it out! He pulled it thru but he had to pull really hard which bent something. He spent another 1.5 hrs trying to figure out how to get damper back together and working. He gave up and said he’d come back the next day. He said he’d make it right even if he had to pay someone to fix the damper. He actually came back the next day mid afternoon. Said it would take no more than 30 min but I didn’t see a new part. He was getting ready to leave and I asked him to show me the damper working. HE HAD NOT FIXED IT. HE PUT IT BACK WITH DAMPER OPEN PERMANENTLY AND JUSTIFIED LEAVING IT OPEN. I was not happy obviously. He later sent me a threatening text alluding that he could bill me for extra time and report me cause my fireplace was not up to code, and I could be fined. Ridiculous and unprofessional. I had to have someone else come and fix what he had left unusable. He’s lucky I paid him for the cleaning.

+ -1 moreRobert the owner was great very professional and did a great job. The vent was terribly full he had to disconnect dryer add a new connection, disconnect attic vent connection and clean from roof the job required a lot of work. I would use him again and recommend to other.

+ -1 moreFantastic! A thorough and difficult clean out for Robert. The duct runs through the attic which was very hot work. Robert cleaned the duct, which had quite a bit of lint build up, and reconnected the duct work so it works properly. A job well done.

+ -1 moreDryer vent was very clogged although we had had it cleaned by another company less than 6 months before. Robert showed us where the other company failed to connect the pipe correctly in the attic. Other company did not go on the roof either (which Robert did) to clean the outlet. This company really knew what they were doing and did a very good job. Paid more than the quote but they did a lot of extra work reconnecting the pipe correctly, etc. Very friendly and personable. Responded immediately to service call. Would recommend.

+ -1 moreEverything was fine, except I would have liked the person performing the service to get on the roof and make sure the vent was completely cleaned. I think they choice not to because of the heat. But, they were punctual and cleaned up the place nicely after cleaning the vent in the utility room.

Description of Work: We had our dryer vent cleaned. But, it wound up including piping that extended not only up into the attic but had at least two 90 degree turns before going up to the roof of my house. The pipe was loose at the top and not attached to the vent going through the roof. The system had never been cleaned before so it was 8 years worth of lint. Robert looked the situation over and advised me before starting that he just couldn't do the job for the amount quoted. After seeing what was going to be involved, I agreed with him. We negotiated what I felt was a fair increase in the price and he went to work. He had to go into my hot attic at least 5 times, had to disconnect and reconnect the 90 degree turns and remove the long section of pipe going up to the roof so it could be reshaped to fit the roof vent. He re-taped all of the sections in the attic and then had to go up on my roof to remove the roof vent so it could be cleaned. That roof vent was fully plugged up! Robert also replaced the vent pipe between my dryer and the wall and re-worked the connections. He then replaced the dryer where it was supposed to be and cleaned up the area before he left. We could immediately tell a lot of difference for the better in the dryer performance. I was very pleased with the job Robert did and fully recommend him for this type of service.

His equipment was not working properly- his assistant stated that the vacuum had little suction . He said he had forgotten his receipt book, unprofessional!
