I am very please with the work done and would recommend them to anyone wanting to insulate or improve the energy efficiency of their home or building. The owner is the most knowlegdable person I have ever encountered regarding insulation and improving energy efficiency. The crew was curtious, professional and did quality work. The work site was cleaner when they finished than when they began. The project was completed in the agreed timeframe and they even did some work that was beyond the scope of our agreement. I feel I received a great value. I will use them again without reservation and will recommend them to others.
Description of Work: For two weeks their crew installed special insulation board on the entire exterior of a three story barn. They also taped the windows and all the seams on the insulation board. Finally, they blew insulation on the inside of the barn and then installed mesh to hold it in place.

It is $2,000 but I think it is money well spent. They are very professional and punctual. Every time I've had an appointment with Miles, he was right on time. They are courteous and seem like a nice bunch of people. They are doing an awful lot of work. I didn't get any other estimates, but I think the price is fair.

They did a great job. We had a home built and it was supposed to be an energy-star home. Weatherization Experts gave us another evaluation (since our electric bills were incredibly high) with a thermal imager and exposed a lot of areas with problems. Todd and his crew fixed these problems quickly and completed everything that should’ve been done the first time. We noticed an immediate improvement. I’m very happy with them and it was an excellent experience.

They were awesome. Weatherization experts were recommended by the geothermal contractor. The insulation job seemed to be extremely well-done, but we had one minor issue that we emailed them about, and we heard back from them within 30 minutes (on a weekend!) and they came out immediately. They weren't the cheapest, but the quality of the work was really good, so we feel like they did a great job for the money we spent. Our contractor told us that he was also impressed by Weatherization. Our house is way more comfortable now, no more drafts and our house stayed cooler. We spent less on a/c bills than we had in the past! We're really happy with them and would definitely recommend them to others.

Work was done timely and efficiently. I would definitely recommend them! After they completed my house, my daughter had Weatherization Experts add 8" insulation to her attic and insulate her garage/garage door. They also adjusted her doors and installed new weatherstripping as well as sealed around her fireplace. She was very happy with their work and especially how well they cleaned up after themselves. She is looking forward to seeing a reduction in her heating/cooling bills.
Description of Work: Added 4" of insulation in attic and 6" above garage. Installed sleeves over vent screens in soffets to prevent wind from shifting insulation. Installed insulation blanket on hot water heater and insulation on inside of garage door. Caulked exterior windows.

It went well from initial contact through completion. Miles was helpful and accommodating of my schedule, didn't push me to have it done right away. Miles also explained everything thoroughly and made sure I knew exactly what they would be doing. When the day came, the crew showed up promptly at 7:30 am, and they were done by noon. I was impressed.

I learned about this company from other customers that responded to Angie's List. Weatherization Experts has quite an extensive listing of satisfied customers, and I am glad to say that I am now a satisfied customer, too. I called them to set an appointment for them to review my house and give me an estimate. Mr. Miles Bruinekool came exactly at the appointment time. He had a thermal imaging camera and showed me all the "hot" spots in the ceiling where insulation was needed. Mr. Bruinekool is a very professional craftsman - he crawled into my attic and took photographs both before and after the insulation job was completed. These photos were emailed to me and I can display them on my computer. There is a very marked difference between the "before" and "after" pictures, and I can visibly see the profession results they performed. The 5-man insulation crew showed up at exactly the appointed time, and immediately set to work. I was impressed by their courteous staff and the professional way they performed their jobs. This was not a lazy-lean-on-the-shovel type of crew. They worked constantly at a fast clip from 7:00 AM until they finished at about 2:30 PM. And this was on one of our 100 degree days, too. In addition to the insulation job, Miles and his associate researched vendors and located a clothes dryer lint-trap they installed in our laundry room to keep lint and its fire hazzard out of the attic. I considered this to be well above the call of duty. Oh, I should mention that I had received a bid from another insulation company that offered to blow fiberglass into my attic at less than half the price quoted by Weatherization Experts. This other company just planned to stick a hose in the attic and blow fiberglass everywhere. I rejected their bid as I feel I received a far superior product, and a more completely professional job. I haven't had time to compare energy (eletricity) bills before and after, but I can tell you the house is much cooler now, and the air conditioner cycles off and on during the day. Before the insurlation was added the air conditioner ran 100% of the time, both day and night.
Description of Work: We recently purchased our home and had an OG&E Energy Audit performed. One of the findings of the energy audit was that the insulation in our attic was very skimpy, and it was recommended that we add 12" of insulation to the attic. This house is approximately 25 years old, and the amount of insulation remaining in the attic was very low, only about 2" and completely bare in some locations. In some areas in the attic where high ceiling rooms had side walls the batting insulation had completely fallen off. This summer has been unusally hot, with many days in which the temperature was over 100 degrees. On a hot day you could feel the heat raditating down from the ceiling. Weatherization Experts added 12 or more inches to the ceiling joists, placed new insulation to all side walls located in the attic, sealed all ductwork with new tape and insulating panels, and sealed all open areas around the furnace and airconditioner ducts. They also added insulation boxes around all can (recessed) lights to reduce the fire hazzard. Baffles were placed ar all ends of the ceiling joists and at the external soffet vents to insure that no insulation material would shift or fall out. Weatherization Experts uses 100% Borate Stabilized Celluluse Insulation and "Thermal 3ht" radiant thermal moisture barriers. This provides for natural elimination of mold, mildew, and offensive odors. No spray-foam or fiberglass products are used - ever.

Description of Work: They came to give an estimate in a very timely manner. The estimate was the same as the charges. They came very promptly on the day scheduled and completed all described services. They showed me where the previous insulators did not do the job they were supposed to do. They took multiple pictures before and after. They protected bathroom lights and plugged holes and gaps that were a part of the problem and then laid down the insulation. They were very polite and worked very hard. I was very impressed with their professionalism.

The representative came to do an assessment and estimate on our single story home built in 1995. The back bedrooms in our split floor plan are much colder in the winter and much hotter in the summer than the rest of our home. He was very informative and appeared to be much more thorough than the other estimates that we recieved. BUT the estimate was also almost $2000 more than the other estimates. We received a detailed estimate the day he came via email. We waited for other estimates - none of the other companies considered all of the issues with our attic that they did. They were out to do the installation within a week of accepting the estimate. Their installation team was prompt and had the entire job done in a day. They left no mess and we did not have dust all over our house - due to their meticulous planning. We haven't received our next utility bill but I'm anxious to see if we are saving. The house is more comfortable, the cooling system isn't running as much, and is more easily keeping the temperature consistent throughout the day even with our lovely large windows...good job! Worth the investment.

I found Josh on Angie's list and read the reviews. I thought it wise to contact them. Miles and Josh showed up, took a look and explained their service well. I felt comfortable doing business with them and the priced seeme reasonable. I told them to go ahead with the job and they fit me into their schedule within about 5-6 days. I thought that was pretty good considering it is the hottest summer on record for about 3 decades. The crew showed up on time, kept my house clean and was out in about 3.5 hours. My attic was very hot, so the guys took breaks, but nothing out of the ordinary considering the heat. My house seems cooler now and I might still have some hot spots, but they are coming out to have a look soon to see if anything can be done. I monitor my daily electric consumpution on line and have noticed I have dropped below average on my bill. I still keep my house at 76 when I am home and 78 when I am away. Overall the experience was very professional, prompt and reasonable. I am happy with the investment in my house and have already recommended them to a few of my friends.

The work was done quickly and they were out of the house in no time. The workers were careful and we didn't have to clean up after they left. All in all, they did a great job, with minimum inconvenience and in a short amount of time.
Description of Work: The company insulated our attic with a unique cellulose insulation by utilizing a hose that blew it into the attic spaces. Our attic is not easy to get to, it's basically a small crawl space. The workers were nice, polite, prompt. The owner took the time to respond to my questions and concerns. They didn't try to sell me on things I don't need. Overall, a very positive experience. I would recommend this company to anyone needing insulation work.

Their quote was about $5000. They do attic insulation and they were fine with the bid. They were here for quite a while and did an extensive investigation of the attic. They check what you have and see what you might need. I haven’t decided which company I am going to use yet because of the amount but they were great.

I contacted Weatherization Experts almost a year before my insulation was installed. An appointment was made for the next day and they were there on the dot and waited patiently for me, as I was about 5 minutes late due to traffic. The representative let me come up into the attic and explained what his recommendations were and helped me to understand why he was making them using understandable terms. I was not able to act upon the recommendation until recently. I replied to the original quote that had been sent to me ten months prior and asked for a new quote on the same work. Even with the increase of materials and economic changes, they honored the original price. I was pleasantly surprised. We agreed on the work through email, and two days later, the work crew showed up and had the installation completed in less than 4 hours. I noticed a difference in sustainable temperature immediately. I am extremely pleased with the quality, professionalism, and attention to detail that Todd and the installation crew showed throughout this process. I will use them again if ever needed, and I will recommend them gladly to anyone who has need of heating and cooling professionals.
Description of Work: Installer itemized list of services: 1/4" FOAMBOARD: Blocking used to prevent attic insulation spillage due to ceiling height changes and at porches. SOFFIT BLOCKING: Place ventilation chutes approximately every 8 feet and blocking the soffit off at the back side of the top plate between every roof joist. This addresses the wind erosion of insulation from perimeter of thermal boundary on the attic plane. Vent chutes (often referred to as "baffles" channel ventilation air up and over the insulation thermal blanket. Blocking the spaces remaining between rafters at the outside edge of the exterior wall prevents insulation material from "spilling" into the soffit space, as well as prevent wind from blowing it away from the perimeter. Meticulous work in a difficult area to access, however the positive results last a lifetime. 1/2" "THERMAL 3Ht" RADIANT/THERMAL/VAPOR BARRIER; LAMINATED EPS: Installed to seal off the top of HVAC closet, back HOT-WALLS, and FURR- DOWNS in attic, prevent air infiltration and complete the THERMAL BOUNDARY. Note: One of the greatest values this provides is a 97% reduction of radiant energy transferred though the "HOT WALLS" effectively negating the heat-conduction transferring through the framing members of the wall assembly. ATTIC R-30: “Xcell ” 100% BORATE STABILIZED CELLULOSE ATTIC INSULATION" ** R-30 with nominal depth of 8" & minimum density of 1.8 lbs. per cubic foot. (1.2 lbs. sq.ft.) **100% Borate formulation produces a Class 1 (A) FIRE RATING. **”Xcell” 100% Borate Stabilized Cellulose creates custom fit, monolithic thermal barrier. **”Xcell” 100% Borate Stabilized Cellulose minimizes air-infiltration from attic into the conditioned air-space. **NOTE: This combined with current insulation will bring final R-VALUE to R-44.

After the problems with the ductwork werer resolved, Weatherization Experts installed the insulation in one day. They also did additional caulking and duct sealing to outlets that One Hour did not do. They gave me a great price and did everything (and more) they said they would do. They are the best contractors I have ever worked with.
Description of Work: I had recently had a new air and heating system (along with all new ductwork) installed in my house by a another contractor. Miles Buinekool of Weatherization Experts inspected the insulation of my attic. He informed me that the new ductwork was installed incorrectly and explained why. Before any insulation could be installed the problems with my ducts needed to be corrected. I approached the contractor who had installed the ductwork (One Hour Heat and Air - also reviewed) several times about the ductwork problems. They kept assuring me there were no problems. The owner of Weatherization Experts (Todd Cox) personally visited One Hour and explained to the manager the problems with the way they installed the ducts. He showed them numerous photos and explained that it needed to be fixed before they could do any insulation work. He also explained that if they refused they could expect legal actions from me. He convinced One Hour to make the repairs. Todd did not have to do this. I feel he went above and beyond to help me get my ducts in order. He didn't charge me anything for the time he spent talking with the other contractor, who was not happy to see him. Both Todd and Miles were very thorough and professional from start to finish in this project. I would highly recommend their services without any reservations.

First of all, communication and reliability are so important when you are paying as much as we were for any type of construction/repair work. These guys score an A+ in both areas. They were very responsive, even during a busy time of year for them (winter). In our case, two different snow storms cancelled our schedule work days, but they called ahead of time to reschedule, rather than just not showing up when the snow storm blew in. They were great about trying to reschedule as soon as possible, and worked around our busy schedule as well. Once the final work days arrived, they were very efficient, considerate, and hard working. Also, they communicated with us before, during, and after the job to be sure we were all on the same page at all time. The quality of the work seems very high, and we're looking forward to see how our home does in the summer and winter now that we've been properly weatherized. Our home is 40 years old, and I feel that the price was fair for the extensive amount of updates we needed. As soon as they left, we could actually hear and feel a difference in the house. That was likely the result of less outdoor noise, and outside air, flowing into the house. In other words, it was quickly obvious that they had properly sealed and insulated our home. After the job was completed, they covered every area they worked on (which was all laid out on a very detailed job estimate) with my wife, and since I wasn't able to be home at that time, they also offered to come back to also cover all of the details with me. So, from start to finish, this was a very pleasant experience with a strong group of professionals who clearly valued our business. In short, we highly recommend Weatherization Experts!

Miles came out-very friendly and very knowledgeable. He took great pains to explain in detail everything to us. Went through our home with his Thermal Imaging equipment. Very interesting. Sent us a detailed estimate. We were very satisfied with cost and called Miles and they promptly set us an appointment to have it done within a few days. The crew showed up promptly...did their job in a quiet, professional manner. Explained and showed us their work...Miles did a follow up call the next day to make sure we were totally satisfied. I only wish I could find other companies such as theirs. GREAT JOB!
Description of Work: We had our attic insulated. Miles and his crew were fantastic. We have often had not so great service with many contractors and we are so happy to find such a very professional, honest company. It was a very pleasant experience. Our attic was in bad shape. Needed cleaned up and some repairs..They did the job quickly, quietly and professionally. We are thrilled with their work. Barely knew they were there. They took me up in the attic and showed me everything. They gave us a detailed written estimate and there were no surprises at all. Honored our Angies List coupon..discount with a smile.

From start to finish the experience was fantastic. Miles did a great job updating us on the work, the progress, and made sure we knew exactly what was being done. When spending a significant amount of money, its nice to get great service with it. The team did a great job and were very easy to work with. We'd definitely recommend Weatherization Experts for any insulation job.
Description of Work: Our attic was very low on insulation, and Weatherization Experts did a complete insulation overhaul on our attic. Not only was it the insulation, but they sealed every little area of the attic to provide more comfort in the home (canned lighting, sky lights, bathroom fans, furnace closet, etc). In addition, they recommended other repairs that needed to be done in the attic relating to our duct work, and they took care of that as well.

When I called for an estimate, I talked to Miles, who detailed all the services they perform when installing the insulation. He came out and looked in the attic, taking pictures of what he wanted me to see. I felt comfortable that they would do a good job and I made an appointment to have the insulation installed. On the work day, Miles called me when the crew was on the way and they arrived a few minutes early and went to work. I could tell they knew what they were doing. All three men were very friendly and courteous, Johnathan was the only one I had conversations with and he was very patient and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. They worked until everything was done without taking a break and cleaned up after themselves. Johnathan asked me to look in the attic to see if everything looked satisfactory to me before they left. It looked very neat and precise. Miles called the next day to ask how it went and since I had noticed a couple of things I had questions about after the crew left, he came out and went into the attic with me, answered my questions to my satisfaction and pointed out several other things they had done. Some things are required by "Code" and it is good to know that the work done meets those requirements. Overall, this job was a good experience for me and I would recommend Weatherization Experts to someone else.
Description of Work: Removed debris in attic. Installed can covers over my recessed ceiling lights. Installed Thermal Vapor Barrier at the Furr-Downs. Installed Soffit Blocking to prevent insulation from moving. Sealed all vents and entries into the house. Installed blown-in stablized cellulose in the attic to the required "R" value and with materials that meet the requirements for the 2010 Federal Tax Credit.
