+ -1 moreThe work was done the following week (within 7 days of estimate) and took about 3/4 of a workday. On the workday, they were in/out leaving the area without signs that they were here. I am looking forward to a warmer winter this year. I was completely satisfied with their work - from beginning to end.
Description of Work: Weatherization Experts checked the current insulation and identified the areas that needed work. I received an itemized quote within the day - 6 hours. After I accepted the quote, the work was scheduled within a week. The workers arrived early and completed everything in about 6 hours. The area that they worked from was cleaned without any sign that they were ever here.

+ -1 moreTodd Cox came to my house and performed a thermal imaging survey. This showed many areas where the insulation was missing or thin. I agreed to have insulation added. The two man crew showed up on time and finished in one day. Their workmanship was good. The price is high. I probably should have sought out other bids. I keep detailed records of my utility bills. The difference in my combined gas and electric bills has been $334 per year. Using a discount rate of 5% this has a 14 year payout. Not particularly money well spent. But I do plan on keeping this house. A follow-up thermal imaging survey would be helpful. It could demonstrate the success of the added insulation. They also offer additive discounts of %5 for seniors, Angie's List and military for a possible total of 15%.
Description of Work: An additional 8" of cellulose insulation was added to my attic. This probably raised the overall insulation value to R50 or R60. My attic has two levels as well as drop-offs at the garage and back porch. These areas had vertical foam board installed to keep the new insulation from spilling over. Soffit blocking chutes were installed to prevent the wind from blowing the insulation away near the soffit edge. Can lights, exhaust fans and overhead stereo speakers were covered with custom fit boxes and then insulated. The HVAC ducts and registers were sealed. Additionally I had insulation added over the garage. This has no effect on my utility bills but does keep the garage work shop temperature more comfortable. Other minor modifications were also included in the price.

+ 0 moreThe crew showed up early in the morning (about 740 due to traffic) and completed the entire job by about 3pm. After they were finished, they took me up in the attic to show me what had been done. The job was very professional. These guys really take pride in their work and the insulation coverage was very thorough. The attention to detail was very obvious. A few hours after the job, we received follow up photos of all of the work that was completed. There was a big empty space in the area above our master batth ceiling I discovered the day before they came as I was looking for how to remove a hidden ttv the previous owners had installed. The crew filled this entire area with insulation at no additional cost- even though it was not in the original estimate. It has only been a few days, but we have already noticed that our bedroom and office area are much cooler. The ac unit has not been running quite as much as it did previously. The thermal images really showed the lack of insulation in the slanted walls in the master bedroom and the office area- the two hottest rooms in the house before they added insulation. Over all I am very pleased with Weatherization Experts. I would highly recommend Todd, Miles, and their crew if you want to know if your home is energy efficient- or need to have insulation work down to make it more efficient.
Description of Work: We moved into our home a little over two years ago. During that time, we have aways had a problem with uneven temperatures in our bedrooms. In particular, the master bedroom has always been signifcantly warmer than the rest of the house. We could never get the room to cool without freezing out our son in his bedroom. We seem to run the ceiling fan and an additional fan constantly. Our summer energy bills have been pretty high, so we were looking at ways to potentially reduce cost. We knew the windows were not an issue, as we had those replaced soon after we moved in. I had planned on having OGE come out and do an energy audit. However, I overheard one of my customers talking about some attic insulation work he had done by Weatherization Experts. He was very complimentary of them and referred me to Angie's List. After reading the reviews, I contacted Miles and Todd to come out and do an Energy Audit. The audit was very thorough. They spent a significant amount of time taking thermal pictures to show potential energy leaks, as well as close up pictures of different areas in the attic (duct attachment, soffits, hidden corners, etc). After they left, we received an email with all of the pictures as well as a step by step estimate of the areas we could address. The recommendations and potential benefits were spelled out clearly and the cost of each was identified. The recommendations were prioritized by potential benefit. All of this was done in a professional manner and not once did we feel any pressure to move forward with anything. I contacted them to move forward on all recommendations (the biggest cost being the cellulose insullation), as I thought they were very logical and the price was reasonable for the amount of work.

+ 0 moreThe energy efficiency inspection really took no time. I planned to be there and was running a little late. They had arrived early, went through the house with one of my daughters, and were gone before I arrived. However, they called my cell phone before they left, leaving me a message. I promptly called them back and they explained what they had done, and that they thought my house was one of if not the best they had seen. They primarily inspect for problems and write corrective reports, but there were no problems, or need for a report...they let me know there would be no charge.
Description of Work: Weatherization Experts were great. My house is new and I really wanted to make sure it was well done. While waiting for my daughter to arrive, outside scan (infrared camera?) of the house showed no leakages. Weatherization Experts went through the house and seeing spray foam throughout the rafters, found their explanation of the outside scan. They checked duct runs, not only for leaks but to see that the runs were put in correctly.

+ -1 moreThis company and the product/service they provide is top notch. Todd and Mile's treated me very profesionally. Their staff were also very kind and professoinal. They explained everything they needed to do and did exactly that. I think the weatherization that was done to my house will keep my home more comfortable all year around and save me money. I would highly recommend this product/service to anybody that has been considering improving the energy efficiency of their home.
Description of Work: Had approximatley 8-10 inches of insulation blown onto existing insulation. Also, the package included an inspection/evaluation of other weatherizatin needs. In addition to the blown insulation the weatherization package included soffit blocking, can covers (lights), addition of 1/4 inch foam board in places, partial attic seal, removal of some insulation, and duct repair.

+ 0 moreThey arrived on time,walked around the house checking the insulation, telling me various issues they saw. One person went under the house to check the duct work and took pictures of various problems including things such as wet areas that they do not fix. I was pleased with the information they provided me for what I already have. I got pictures of some problems under the house that I needed to have my H/A people come back and fix. They were supposed to send me an e-mail estimate for improving my insulation, but did not. I was not particularly interested in persuing this, so did not call and remind them. Overall, I was pleased with the inspections they did and the information they provided me. If I needed insulation, I would call them.
Description of Work: I bought two Angie's Deals for an energy audit as well as H/A duct check.

We decided to have Weatherization Experts come and perform an Energy Audit and point out areas with inadequate or non-existing insulation and cold spots. They also identified areas where we could see a reduction in utility costs due to air leakage. They initially came and took photographs of areas of concern and performed some thermal imaging to show cold spots. They presented us with a list of their recommendations with corresponding photographs of what they were talking about. We chose to go ahead and have them perform all of their recommendations. Even though it was a pricey list of items they recommended, we never felt pressured to do the entire project. It was always presented as an "a la carte" list of things to consider. While we have not been through a full summer to compare our energy costs to last year, our winter utility bills were lower and the house was definitely warmer and less drafty! The crew was on time and completed the work in a timely fashion. We are satisfied customers and would recommend them.
Description of Work: Performed Energy Audit. Replaced weatherstripping and adjusted all exterior doors. Added additional insulation in attic and insulated over 2 garages that were not previously insulated. Added thermal boundary per Fire Code around 2 fireplaces. Added ceiling speaker covers in attic to prevent air loss. Soffit Blocking.

+ -1 moreAfter an energy audit was performed in my house, I decided to add insulation in my attic. Because I have an older home, there were no attic vent installed either. I got estimates from two companies. Weatherization Experts Inc was one of them. I talked with the owner, Todd Cox, on the phone for 20 min even before he came out to survey the attic for an estimate. I found him knowledgeable of his trade and was genuinely helpful. I was very impressed by the thoroughness of the quote, that is, details of the work to be done to bring the attic insulation to current standard. Todd took photos of the attic to show me the improvements/repair needed. He also explained to me the kind of insulating material his company used, that is environmentally friendly and of high insulating capacity. Todd also alerted me of a big discount offered at the Angie's list website at the time. I met the crew members at 9am. The work was completed in one day while I was at work. My garage where the attic entry is, was kept clean. I did not live in this house last summer so I did not know how much energy saving I received because of the added insulation. I am certain that I have a more energy efficient home because of the insulation added. I recommended Weatherization Experts to many of my friends.
Description of Work: The whole process from the initial contact of the owner, to the survey of the attic, and the installation of the insulation and ventilation was very informative and pleasant. Excellent service.

+ 0 moreThe two representatives were professional, but clearly their objective was to upsale, upsale, etc. They focused only on the attic insulation and did not observe windows, caulking, etc. The prices they quoted for insulation was at least three times the other bids I received for attic insulation. Their plan was very complex, e.g., rather than just blow in insulation, they insisted I has to have my attic floor raised before insulation could be in installed. Couldn't recommend them based on the aggressive upsaling and estimated costs.
Description of Work: I purchased a home energy audit from a Groupon offer. I was researching insulation, window, and other energy saving needs.

+ 1 moreI was ready to spend $10K to replace windows; however, the results of the energy audit pointed to insulation and HVAC. I spent half the money I expected and I am saving an average of 15KW per day so far (about 15 - 20%) and now the entire house is evenly cooled and comfortable. Amazing! Additionally, the staff were always on time (to the minute), professional at all times, friendly and they meticulously cleaned up all the debris after the work was completed. I could not be happier with the work performed!
Description of Work: Provided an extremely thorough energy audit. The gentlemen crawled into attic spaces that were difficult to get to in order to take pictures. The pictures and the use of the "heat gun" helped me see what areas were "hot spots" where the builder failed to insulate properly as well as where the builder failed to install the HVAC properly. I was impressed by the superior level of technical knowledge by the staff. I followed the recommendations to improve all seals around the HVAC ducts and blower unit as well as increase insulation and foam boards to improve the insulation R-value and decrease energy costs. Additionally, they put sound-deadening material in key walls as per our request.

One thing that I really liked was that he came in with an infrared camera and walked me around the house showing me everything that it was good bad or indifferent. He showed me everything weather they did it or not. Our experience with them was good. I called them one evening and they were here two days later. They were right on time.

+ 0 moreThe guys were very professional and thorough during the home inspection, but did not come at all on the day of the insulation project. The crew that arrived was very friendly and efficient and went the extra mile to make sure they cleaned everything up behind them. They did an excellent job for what they knew to do, but without the guidance of the guys that did the initial inspection, they missed two key areas. I had the guys come back out for a follow-up thermography and we found where the crew had missed those two areas. The crew came back out and within 10 minutes they had the revisions completed and were cleaning up. We have not noticed a difference in our power bill despite the assessed 30-40% proposed savings. The house is definitely warmer and definitely more quiet. The garage is consistently 60-70 degrees without any heating. I would definitely have these guys back to work again. They were prompt, courteous, clean, professional, and more than willing to satisfy! Thanks!

+ 0 moreWeatherization Experts came out to my house at my request and used a thermal imager to see the cold spots from inside the house. He then went into the attic and reviewed the situation there. He had several suggestions to help conserve energy as well as to make things more comfortable in the house. They provided me with a professional itemized estimate that fully described what they suggested. I contacted them after receiving the estimate and they discussed in full any questions and concerns I had. We set a date and the crew arrived on time. They were very professional and courteous . They cleaned up after themselves and notified me they were done. Todd called after they had left to make sure everything was satisfactory. I have already seen an improvement in the comfort level in the house and am looking forward to seeing the savings in the electric and propane bills.

Frequently, the staff was early and waiting for the scheduled appointment and we were able to start early. Work was preformed as specified in the proposal. Installation crew was waiting for the schedule start time when I went outside to move car--necessary for their access to attic. Allow the crew to start early. Very professional. Installation with without a hitch. The crew did an outstanding job of cleanup. Very good company with which to do business!

It is way more than just "blowing in" extra insulation. Time will tell on the utility savings, but the finished product was more than what I had expected.
