Updated irrigation system
Description of Work: Markis did a fantastic job!! He changed out our old irrigation control box to one that is fully automated. He also adjusted and replaced all sprinkler heads that were not functioning properly, broken, or not set optimally. He showed up on time (actually a little early)! Then went straight to work. We will be using this company many times in the future, for various landscaping jobs!!!

Estimate was according to owners wishes and specification and final pricing was very fair. Before and during work this company was very responsive to questions and concerns and even picked up owner-provided pavers from two different building markets to store until pavers could be installed. All work was completed on time and as promised while doing minimum damage to the surrounding area. The jobsite was properly cleaned. We couldn't be happier with the end-product. We recommend All Terrain Landscaping and will keep them in mind for future work.
Description of Work: Remove concrete patio and concrete edging. Installed pavers.

I got a contract estimate from the company Oct 15. They started work in November and finished 3/4's of the contracted work during two periods of work, finishing in mid December. As each phase of work was completed, they were paid in full per the contract estimate. They said originally they'd begin the final phase in a week but never got started. I called and emailed them to get a firm start date, but was told it would be after the first of the year. By mid January I got hold of them, and because I'd been satisfied with the work they had already completed, I had them come out to give me an estimate for additional work, they said at that time work would begin the final phase of the original contract estimate the next week. The next Sunday, before work had begun on the final phase, I received an email containing a revised estimate raising the price from $1,300 to $2,887. After numerous emails, I was told they would complete the final phase at the revised price, and that the original estimate was only valid for 30 days, which it does say on the contract estimate.
Description of Work: Building retaining walls around my house.

Response from All Terrain Landscaping and Design LLC
We submitted a bid with an all inclusive price to this customer while itemizing each section for better cost analysis at the customers request. There were 4 different sections to this project and to this customers overall scope of work. The customer decided to break up this project into 4 different intervals, all to be competed at different time frames. Which turned into 4 different jobs. Therefore, we received approval on the first phase, without any approval on any other phases. Which we started and completed, with the approval and satisfaction of this customer. This customer paid for only phase 1 after all work was completed. Which was the agreement and on par with the proposal. At the end of this phase, the customer asked if we could go ahead and do phase 2 and 3, which we agreed too, we scheduled, we started, and we completed at the request and satisfaction of this customer. During phase 2 and 3, this customer added additional small items to the project which we completed without charging anything extra. After satisfactory completion of phase 2 and 3, the customer again asked if we could schedule the final phase. We informed the customer of prior jobs previously scheduled and informed him, that we would have to do his phase 3 at a later date. A few weeks later, we revisited with the customer about phase 3 and again, the customer was asking for modifications to the original work scope. Therefore, we adjusted our proposal to include the additional work and make corrections to the original proposal that reflected previous project labor and materials. Overall, the phase 3 cost was going to cost more than the original work that was specified and the customer demanded that we do the work with all additional items added for the same price. Therefore, no agreements were negotiated for phase 3. Therefore, the customer never paid anything towards that phase, nor did we start that phase. The customer only paid for work that was completed during previous phases. All work on previous phases was completed by us and approved as completed by the customer.

Description of Work: I have used All Terrain Landscaping several times. |The first was for repair of watering system; repair lines, find and repair boxes. Second: had a watering system line break and run for several day while on out of town. They came out and shut the system down. When I retuned, they repaired the line and replace the control computer system. Third: repaired my fence and gate. |They come out when I call and work whatever the problem may be. |Very punctual and professional. |I will use them this spring again for the watering system.

This job was performed extremely well. The crew was very professional and executed the project in a timely manner. They reused the sod they pulled up to cover some bare spots in my side yard. I was particularly impressed with the corner they installed in one bed beside the walkway to the front door. The project involved about 60 linear feet of retaining walls with capstones for the planting beds and soil. They left the jobsite very clean.
Description of Work: Installed three raised planting beds with pavestone blocks and filled with garden soil.

Overall, the work was incredible! The trees alone were huge! The retaining wall itself is beautiful, and it was a monster task! They dug down 2-3 feet into Oklahoma clay to lay a foundation of compacted gravel and then a line of bricks beneath the soil (The previous wall was built on top of the ground). The only reason for the subtraction of points is it felt a little rushed at the end and we had to come back to do some additional work ourselves. Our yard has a definite slope away from the terraces. (Where the wall is was more than adequately addressed) While they were building the terraces, I pointed out the slope issues and asked how they were going to ensure erosion didn't eat away the base of the terraces. They built up a base to lay the terraces and then added compressed gravel, but there was probably a 40% slope away from the base. They said it would be fine, as they were going to bring in topsoil to address the slope issue. They did do this somewhat, but the slope was still probably 30-35%. This summer we experienced LOTs of rain, within 2 weeks of the completion of the job, the base was eroded down to the gravel and that was starting to erode as well. My son and I used retaining wall bricks (from Home Depot) to build two small additional terraces around the large terrace to stop erosion. This has been successful, we have had many large rains since then, but have lost no more soil. There was an additional area (around a fruit tree) that I had to do the same thing with at the end of the retaining wall. This might have been a miscommunication though. They installed two drains into the wall to allow for adequate drainage, the base of the wall near two drains was beginning to erode as well after heavy rains. I built two small dry creek beds down from these drains to prevent further erosion. All of this being said, there was no grass or vegetation at the time of the heavy rains to hold the soil in place (as it August and the work had just been finished leaving raw earth in the lower yard). I think we lost a lot of the top soil they brought in through erosion. The presence of grass would have eliminated some of the erosion, but not all. We have since planted grass (tried in August, but it was August in Oklahoma...) and that with the two small terraces we built, there has been no more erosion. Again, All Terrain did a tremendous amount of work in our yard and we are VERY happy with most of it. We just think they ran out of time at the end because it was such a HUGE undertaking.
Description of Work: All Terrain did a substantial amount of work in our yard over four months. They trimmed three large trees and removed a fourth, installed a forty foot dry creek bed beside our house, poured 10 x 10 and 4 x 12 concrete pads and finally removed a four foot high, by 140 foot timber retaining wall and replaced it with a brick wall, which included stairs and two additional 7 x 7 terraces.

I contacted Markus the owner of All Terrain Landscaping the first time in April 2013 to repair/replace a stockade gate. We decided to replace wood poles with metal poles and asked Markus to set an appointment to replace and repair the entire stockade fence. He arrived at time promised and went to work. To go to his charcter, he worked in the poring rain, got all the post set in cement, and returned the next day after the post had set, to complete the job. I hired Markus to repair the sprinkler system. He came with a crew to find the electrical problem and find and replace pop ups and leaks. Again he arrived as said, and brought with him the expert to assist with the electrical. Again, on the sprinkler system, we were out of town for four days when I received a call that the sprinkler system was running continuous. I phoned Markus/All Terrain Landscaping with an emergency. He came and found the problem, which was the computer controls for sprinkler system. He replaced the controls and ensured all lines were operating as desired. I cannot say enough for Markus. He is honest, conscientious, reliable and more.
Description of Work: Markus, the owner of All Terrain Landscaping had provided several services since our first contact with him in April. He had repaired/replaced a stockade fense and gate, and worked on our sprinkler system a couple times.

Many weather delays. Demo of old railroad tie retaining walls began 2/27. New stone block retaining walls took about three to four weeks. The patio and walkways took another month due to weather. Storms, freezing rain. Final work done 4/20. Work done was very high quality. It was a pleasure to work with Markis and his landscaping crew. I love my new backyard.
Description of Work: Complete backyard renovation. Had old retaining wall removed and replaced, new fence installed, old deck removed and replaced with new concrete patio plus flagstone walkways, sod and flowerbeds.
