Description of Work: I contacted them to take care of our lawn. They said that I needed to get someone else because it was not going to be a reoccurring thing. That they were not interested in only one time. It might have been more than once if they would've helped me out this time.

Description of Work: It took a couple of calls and messages before Mel came out to give me an estimate for the work to be done. Basically, the work entailed clean-up of the front, back, and side yards including trimming all the trees, bushes, and weeding all the beds. Also, I had asked for removal of some debris (partial fence and posts). His estimate was for $750, which I thought was rather steep. Mel is the owner and said that he would do the work himself with a couple of helpers. I have no doubt that he would have done an excellent job. He came across as very professional and bases on comments from others on Angie's List I have no doubt he would have done a great job, but the price seemed rather steep. I ended up hiring the guys that do my neighbor's yard and they did for slightly less than half the price quoted by Mickey's Lawn.

Description of Work: Redid our flower beds and trim

Description of Work: They mowed our overgrown grass, clean up leaves, and trimmed the hedge. Overall, the outcome was good.

Description of Work: Mulched a long flowerbed. Pruned rose bushes. Emptied last year's plants from patio pots, and filled with new potting soil. They did a good job. I will use them again.

Description of Work: I had Mickey's Lawn Care simply clean out the weeds in my garden, which had gotten out of control. They did a great job and were fast.

Description of Work: I hired Mickey's Lawn Care LLC to level and sod my front yard. Mel shows up on schedule and, completes the job to his satisfaction. There is no problem until your opinion and his are different. In my opinion my yard was not properly leveled and smoothed prior to the sod being installed. There are many examples still existing in my yard but as an example, the sod is one or more inches above the sidewalk in some areas and below the level of the side walk in other areas. There were / are depressions in the yard that should have been leveled before the sod went down. I spoke to Mel (owner of Mickeys Lawn Care, LLC) on more than one occasion about this. He suggested that I mow the grass higher and differences would not be as noticeable and to wait until next spring and they would fill in any places that were low. As previously stated, this should have been done, in my opinion, before the sod went down. The sod was installed on two different days. The yard is quite small but they had a health issue, as I remember it, with one of his employees and had to quit early. I had no issue with that. However, the sod that was put down the first day was different than what went in the second day. The first day's sod was much thinner than the second and contained many more weeds. This obviously caused a difference in the elevation of the yard. I believe Mel and his crew try to do a good job but when their standards and mine where different he prevailed. He is a very nice man and, again, I believe he strives to do well but, I believe he missed the mark on my project.

Description of Work: They showed up to provide a bid, and followed through with the work in a timely fashion. We had weather issues, that they worked around. They were very courteous to contact me by phone they needed to change their plans. They did a GREAT job with the trees. We only had one issue, in that they harmed the flower beds. The lesson here is to contract services in seasons when the flower beds are not in bloom. I would use them again.

Description of Work: Cut back a eupon that had become a tree and was totally out of control Mel and his helper cut back the tree exactly as I asked them to do. They also trimmed and shaped a shrub that was also out of control. they did a fast, excellent job and the job site was completely cleared of any debris. I would definitely ask them to do another job.

Description of Work: That was my very first Angie's List purchase minutes after signing up, then they came back to say it was a mistake and the coupon doesn't exist. They however offered to come by for a free estimate, but never showed up on the appointment day either. I got someone else to do it now. There was no service done by them so I need my refund ASAP.

Description of Work: I've used Mickeys for several projects after the the first job. These jobs include: 1. creating patio and walkways using gravel and flagstone....see photos. 2. several big loads of mulch to flower beds .... see photos. these additional jobs are on top of the previous big job back in June where he installed a combination of zoysia and fescue. Iyou want a job done right and a really good value, I highly recommend Mickeys.

Description of Work: Mickey is a great guy who is working hard to build his business. He did some landscaping for us on our newly remodeled home where we had to start landscaping from scratch. Mickey responded quickly and provided me an estimate and worked with us to get the most for our budget. I wish I could post some photos but I am new to Angie's list and not sure what all the features are. We will be using him more in the future for every yard and landscaping project. Let me also say that I was very pleased with the zoysia and fescue sod...it was cut real thick so it laid down green and within a couple of days it was already growing! my past experiences with sod are not so great...it has been cut thin and laid while brown in a dormant state. Mickey proved to me that he is dependable, professional, polite, hard working, and he could charge more for his work but he doesn't! FANTASTIC!!
