+ 1 moreWe didn't experience any issues with the installation process (to our knowledge). We have noticed a large amount of cold air coming in from our fireplace box area. They supposedly insulated this area around the firebox. This insulation issue could very well be yet another issue with the remodeling company we hired. Our issue and complaint at this time is that we have tried to use our fireplace for heat this current cold season (October 2012) and the smell of gas fills our home. Obviously this being a safety concern, we have turned off our gas to the fireplace and called M&J Insulation for possible help and direction. We have called M&J Insulation and left three messages over two weeks and have yet to hear back from them. We find their lack of responsiveness disrespectful and an example of poor professional ethics. We feel like they should be able to direct us as to what to try next. At this point, even a courtesy call back stating this is not their issue would be acceptable.
Description of Work: We hired a remodeling company (whom we do not recommend, please see review of Richardson Homes) who hired M&J Insulation to install our gas fireplace. We purchased the fireplace box and gas log set from M&J Insulation. They also insulated our attic. (*Note~Although on Angie's List this company is listed with an OKC address, this is the same company that is currently in Moore. The phone numbers are the exact same.) *Update, they did call us back finally after two weeks and our three calls. We spoke with them on a Friday and were told they would get back with us after speaking to a tech. We never heard back from them, so on the following Monday we called for a 4th time and finally arranged for a tech to come to our home the same day. Our gas line was determined to be bad, therefore we DID have a gas leak. The repair tech was polite and professional towards us.*
