+ -1 moreI would not recommend him to anyone. He was very seldom on-site and was very hard to work with. He was a fast talker and a slow worker. He had subcontractors that he had to come in and do work and he did not pay them and they were calling me all the time asking if I would pay them because he had not paid them. It was not a good experience at all. He would always make excuses for not being able to come whenever I called him. He was very hard to get hold of; I would call and he would not return calls, and when he finally did return calls he would act all innocent. I even had to go buy tools for the subcontractors to use because he did not supply them. He would send the subcontractors out to work and he wouldn’t have any supplies for them to work with. He did however use good quality roofing material. The subcontractors were very punctual, but he was never there to oversee the job.
Description of Work: I had JIM RYAN ROOFING & REMODELING do all of my roof repairs after the Joplin tornado; they had to replace the whole top of my house from the ceiling up.

Description of Work: We had a water leak. Old roof was to be removed and replaced. This was done promptly. The interior remodeling is where the nightmare began and the contractor (Jim Ryan) fell apart. Once the largest chunk of money (the roof---which material was over priced by $4,000 dollars over actual cost) was earned, the interior ceiling was to be fixed. Jim had a person that helped him one day on the roof report for interior remodel the next day at 7:30 am. This was the only day this person (Eric) was ever on time. It was to be a 3-4 day project. It has been over 2 weeks now. The babysitting of this person, the continual asking for more money, the drama and soap opera effect why he is late...why he has to leave early, the unprofessionalism (ex..."I know you have more money"), and the damage this person has done because he was upset that we gave him no more money...is absolutely unbelievable. The contractor (Jim Ryan) fell off the face of the earth. Eric could not reach him for 3-4 days. On the last day we allowed Eric to be here, he was to texture the new sheet rock. He not only textured the new sheet rock, but he also textured the natural stone fireplace, ALL the maroon carpet in the house (no plastic was laid down), out of anger he textured my light I loaned him, the recipricating saw I loaned him, the ladder I loaned him, broke the $250 ceiling fan, flattened my wheel barrel, textured our back deck, wiped his trowel on the hand rails on the deck, and flipped spackel on the maroon wall on the backside of the house. We paid him an extra $500 just to leave and never come back. Jim Ryan, 5 days later, came to the house (for more money) and said the person did not work for him, and totally reniged that any of the damage was on him. Now we are fighting the aftermath, had to hire a lawyer, and still have a house that WE have to clean up! I feel for anyone who uses Jim Ryan Roofing and Remodeling.

+ -1 moreTHEY DID A GOOD JOB. I WAS REALLY SATISFIED WITH THE WORK THAT THEY DID. MY ROOF LOOKS GREAT, AND THE PRICE WAS CHEAP. THEY ALSO GOT THE JOB DONE REALLY FAST WITH NO COMPLICATIONS.
Description of Work: THEY PUT A NEW ROOF ON MY HOUSE.
