It went well. Very knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Ac stopped cooling. Called American Hone Shield and requested All Comfort Specialists because they have been out before. John was very helpful and nice and got everything working. Then I learned changing filters on a timely basis is important among other things owner maintenance could do.

I usually use a different company for regular A/C tuneups in the spring as well as furnace tuneups in the fall. Last Friday, that company performed a tuneup on my system and charged me for 2 lbs. of R-22, a capacitor and a hard start kit. My A/C was working just fine prior to their arrival and when they left it wasn't cooling at all. I called them again and they sent the same technicians back out only to be told that my compressor was shot shortly afterwards. It was going to cost me $6000-$7000 to replace the whole system since it was R-22. I have American Home Shield warranty service, so I called them and they sent out All Comfort Specialists. It didn't take Tony and Pat anytime at all to figure out that the inept technicians the other company sent had overcharged my unit which was causing the compressor to shut down when the pressure and amps reached too high of a level. Also, I already had a hard start kit, yet the other company decided to add another one. After Tony reclaimed the 2 lbs. of refrigerant, my unit started cooling perfectly as it had done before the tuneup. Needless to say, All Comfort Specialists just gained a new customer for the foreseeable future.

I used this company as part of my American Home Shield Warranty. I had a terrible experience with another company. But All Comfort Owner, Mike, and his guys, Troy & Brad, did the repair (a leaking line), replaced coolant, and did it efficiently and quickly. They were all pleasant, courteous, and showed up on the dot. And they will be doing my regular maintenance from now on! This company just restored my faith in product and customer service.

That would have been August 15th. They had to pay for freon, it would have been $900 total. They did everything they said they were going to do. I mean, the freon wasn’t included and I knew that. That’s why I changed warranties. One that went with it. I would use them again, I mean they didn’t do anything, they were honest.

I have a home warranty, so I use whoever they give me. They?re out of Oklahoma City. It was January 19th. It fell and made a real loud sound. So, they didn?t have to put any new parts in it, they just had to realign the blower inside the heating unit. I only pay $100, I don?t know what it would have cost, because I have that home warranty. They were awesome. They came out quickly, found the problem, didn?t lie, cause you never know with people. They were honest. I only paid the deductible, so I don?t know how fair that is. I would use them again, I mean, I hope I can, cause I changed home warranties.

On 09/09/2014, our downstairs AC unit stopped working. We contacted AHS, our home warranty provider, for a service request. We were contacted by the provider, All Comfort Specialist, within 2 hours and scheduled a service call between the hours of 8 and 10 am on 09/10/2014. The tech showed as scheduled, surmised that the evaporation coil had a restriction, informed us that they would need to contact AHS for approval to reorder and replace, collected the $75 service fee and left. The wording on our paperwork specifically stated: evap coil has restriction, needs replaced, will need to check refrigerant when evap coil is replaced, float switch, and finally, the evap coil must be an exact match. On 09/15/2014, AHS contacted us and informed us that the evap coil would be replaced under the home warranty, that our service contract only pays $10 per lb of Freon and that we would be responsible for the additional $55 per lb for the 4 lbs needed and that AHS has agreed to pay for the items out of code up to $250 leaving us with $77 to pay for. Our total cost would be $297. First, our paperwork simply stated that the refrigerant level simply needed to be checked once the evap coil was replaced, not a definite need for 4 lbs of Freon. Second, our paperwork never stated anything about items not in code. The technician never informed us of any of this either. However, we agreed to pay the $297 fee. All Comfort Specialist contacted us on 09/18/2014 to inform us that the evap coil would be received at the warehouse on the afternoon of 09/19/2014 and they scheduled the install between the hours of 8 and 10 am for 09/22/2014. On 09/19/2014, our upstairs unit stopped working. I contacted AHS to request service late 09/19/2014. On the morning of 09/22/2014, All Comfort Specialist contacted us to inform us that the evap coil was the wrong one and that they would need to come out between 2 and 4 that afternoon and confirm the serial/model numbers on our unit. I confirmed that they would also look at our upstairs unit as well. During the scheduled time, two techs responded. They wrote down the serial/model numbers on my downstairs unit and cleaned the evap coil on my upstairs unit. The upstairs unit was working when they left. They once again collected a new $75 charge for the upstairs unit. The paperwork simply stated that the filters were dirty, the evap coil was dirty and they cleaned the evap coil. On 09/23/2014, we received a call from AHS that the evap coil replacement for our downstairs unit had now been denied because of hail damage to our units. We would be responsible for the full $2000+ it would cost to replace our unit. Once again, the techs never said anything to us about a potential issue involving hail damage. My husband called AHS for more clarification. He was told that All Comfort Specialist is now stating that the hail damage to the exterior fins on our outside unit had caused the pressure to build in the unit and blow out the evap coil. My husband contacted All Comfort Specialist and received a similar story. Luckily, my husband works with individuals that work on HVAC systems. One agreed to come over to our house on the evening of 09/24/2014 to take a look. The technician my husband works with could not believe the lies we had been told. Both evap coils simply needed cleaning. The units are 31 years old. They took mean green and spent 30 minutes outside cleaning both evap coils. Even the one upstairs that was supposedly "cleaned" by the technicians at All Comfort Specialists was still incredibly dirty. He did add a little refrigerant to one unit, and after about 2 and a half hours, both units were working perfectly. Had we have not questioned furthered all the items that simply weren't adding up, we may have blindly paid the $2,000+ to have our AC repaired. As it was, we shelled out $150 for services that weren't performed, over a week without an AC downstairs and additional time and money to get our AC repaired properly. I do not recommend doing business with All Comfort Specialist.

All work was done as agreed in a professional manner. I was surprised that there was a charge for the original estimate/analysis, though it was disclosed to me. I wasn't going to get bids for this small job, so I went ahead with ACS since they had good reviews and a recommendation from my daughter. I don't think I will use them again, however.

I won't use this company again unfortunately. My home warranty company called me to say that the company had been unresponsive in providing them with the information they need to authorize the installation of an ac. At their request, I called and Amy who I now understand is co-owner answered. I innocently asked about her communication with my insurance company and politely asked her to call my rep. Immediately defensive and angry, she declined. Further, she began speaking to me in an angry and condescending tone. When I asked why she was getting snippy with me she accused me of getting snippy with her. I told her I was not accusing her of anything...simply asking her to communicate with my insurance company. Amy is an incredibly unprofessional business person. The technicians I've worked with were great, but I cannot work with someone who doesn't seem to care about the customers. Once the job was done (after months of negotiating with insurance) come to find out the new condenser didn't work. It took a couple of weeks, once again, for Amy to get on the phone with insurance and/or the vendor to get things straightened out and to get a new unit. There are certainly more responsive and friendly companies to work with than this one.
Description of Work: Has given me estimates for repair. Estimated cost 2500.00.

Response from All Comfort Specialist Heat and Air
Unfortunately, I have zero control as to what the insurance company decides to do. On our end, as a company working with the insurance, all we can do is call in and make a report. After that has been done, which is done next business day after diagnoses is made, is wait for them. Insurance companies have their own process. I wish I was able to speed it up for the customer. Especially when the temps are extreme. It just doesn't work that way. If I, in any way, sounded or came across as being unprofessional, I do apologize. It is never my intention for any one to be unhappy with All Comfort Specialist. We, as a company, strive to satisfy our customers 100%. Sincerely, Amy

First let me say I contacted 3 other HVAC companies for estimates. The variances in the SALESMAN's pitches was pretty amazing, but usually they were trying to justify why their bids were up to twice as much as as what was quoted by All Comfort for comparable equipment. Daniel (Co-owner) struck me as an honest guy with lot's of experience. I have some experience in HVAC work, and recognized he was trying to get me what I needed, not what he would like to sell me. The price he gave me was a bottom line price ... no hidden charges or line item descriptions. His quote was exactly what the final price was. He is not a highly polished salesman, just an honest experienced workman trying to make a living by delivering what he promises. They DID arrive a little late ... 10 minutes... but called me to say they would be there! They very efficiently removed the old system and installed the new units in a minimum of time, which was appreciated because it was 40 degrees with a 40 MPH wind. The new system operated without a glitch except the fan speed was a little high, so they returned the next day to adjust the RPM's from high to medium. Clean-up was very well done ... with the old unit taken to a recycling center. (Am I green or what!) If you need a polished salesman ... call elsewhere. If you need a job well done, at least give them a chance to bid.
Description of Work: Contracted to install a new Lennox Heat and A/C system in my home. The system quoted was a 14 SEER A/C unit with an 80% efficiency heater system (fine for Oklahoma). Due to an inventory glitch at the warehouse, a 16 SEER system was installed at the same quoted price. Not something you can usually expect, but it did make for a REALLY a sweet deal. New return duct-work was also installed in the attic at this price.

Overall, the process went well. they were always available and promptly returned calls.
Description of Work: This company was assigned to me through American Home Shield. They were prompt in calling me to make an appointment and within the 2 hour time block of when they said they would be there. The technician was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went over the history of our unit with us and how it probably caused the current problem to occur. The company followed up a few weeks after the repair to ensure everything was still functioning properly which was very nice.

I called this company on July 2, 2012; spoke to Amy McCutcheon, part owner of the company ( husband & wife partnership). We made an appointment for the following Thursday evening between 6pm and 8pm. They didn't show up or call so I called the office # and again spoke to Amy who apologized and said the week was all mixed up for her because of the holiday, her husband had just gotten homefrom work and hadn't had his dinner yet....yada, yada, yada.. So, we set the following day for the same appt time. They did show up that time. Their appearances were less that satisfactory; he was absolutely filthy, (some what understandable since he had come here from work) and she was in short shorts....not professional at all. Any way, they looked over the house, asked questions and said they would get back to us on Monday with a quote. On Tuesday, Daniel McCutcheon called and spoke to my husband & gave a quote of $7600.00 for the new system, including duct work, and they would have it installed in half a day. When asked for a breakdown of the charges, he told us the unit was $3500. Duct work was $500. and the balance was labor. He told him we would get back to them. When I looked at the amounts I thought someone had gotten a decimal point off when calculating the charges. I called the office and again spoke to Amy, when I explained my thoughts about the decimal point, she said no, that was the charge. When I asked about the labor charge of $3600.00 she became defensive and said there was more than labor involved in that amount, gasoline for the truck, wear & tear on the truck, miscellaneous expenses, screws etc. I asked for the breakdown of the $3600.00 and she refused to give one. She told me the price is the price and they had never been asked to break down a quote and they weren't about to start now! Needless to say I told her they didn't need our business and she hung up on me.
