TruGreen Lawn Care - 5096

I have used TruGreen to weed & feed with few problems. I contracted with them to core-aerate my lawn and seed shady spots with fescue. They seeded it with tall fescue and some other type of grass that grows at a different rate so the lawn always looked uneven. Then they showed up a few weeks later to aerate the newly-seeded lawn (aerate first, seed later, duh!). I declined. Then they showed up a week later & almost applied pre-emergent on the newly-seeded lawn. Lucky I was there to stop them. Double duh! I no longer trusted them so I seeded sunny spots with Bermuda myself. They came unannounced for routine weed & feed shortly thereafter and applied pre & post emergent on my new Bermuda seedlings, killing it. They were supposed to call me before coming out. They offered to re-seed the Bermuda but I no longer trusted them. I cancelled my service. Nice people but poor co-ordination and communication. Weed & feed: $62 per application. Aerate: $159. Seeding: $180.

It went okay. I will use them again.

We had a fungus on the lawn and would not take care of it. They were so good until we got that fungus. I would not recommend them.

I responded to an add for TruGreen to service my lawn that offered a special for $29.95 for the first application. After talking to a service representative I was informed that the special wouldn't apply to my yard because of the size. I asked why the flier was left on my door then if my property wouldn't qualify and he changed the subject to how he could save me money by classifying my yard at less than the full size. I was a little put off by the bait & switch so I asked quite a few questions to figure out if I wanted to use their services. After grilling they guy with every question I could think of, including pricing I figured their service was going to be about 50% less than Boots (the other choice in my area). I finally agreed to a deal that would get me up to 16 applications over the growing season for about $450, which would start immediately before the grass and weeds started growing out of control. That was over 3 weeks ago and I have not been contacted since or seen a service tech since. My yard is out of control with weeds now and the grass has also come out of dormancy. This is one of the worst first impressions I have ever had with a new service provider. I have called every week to find out why there is a delay and now I only get the voice mail. If they don't show this week I am taking them to small claims court.

Our area was in drought so I called told them don't spray. They sprayed anyway while I was out of the house and put note to "water within 48 hrs." I called cussed them out told them don't spray during drought and use their heads. Also not to spray unless I call. IN November while I was out of house they came and sprayed again and left the note "water within 48 hrs". We were still in drought. I called and really screamed at them come on have a head. Now my lawn is pure dandelions and my grass is dead. I called another company and they said to spray a yard I when I can't water could kill the grass. My lawn had been sodded paid good money for it. NOW it is horrible because of Trugreen.

I started using them about a year and a half ago. They were expensive and that's why I stopped using them. Their quality was really good because the chemicals that they put down stopped the weeds. As soon as I stopped using them I saw the weeds coming up again. Their product was good. Their professionalism was a little off because they used to leave the junk on. The green stuff that they sprayed down would be on all over my carpeting. They were on time all the time. What they did was good.

They have done an okay job. They are not as good as they could be. They missed the weed that hid the grass, but other that, they did a pretty good job. They fertilized it before the rains which I appreciate, but it would have been nice if they would have swept the side walk and the driveway because it holds on to the cement. I would rate them fair. My son is okay with them, but I am not.
