John and his crew were very friendly and performed the task in a totally professional manner.

Very mediocre to sub-standard. They seemed more interested in rushing to get the job done, and on to another job, than doing a thorough, quality job for me.

He came out, and advised he would not be able to do what needed to be done. He was very polite, and suggested to me, who could work on my sprinkler for me.

Great! There was no extra charge for extensive troubleshooting effort to isolate problem on malfunctioning zone and recommend a successful fix. All zones adjusted and functioning like new.

Great. Very professional, on time, and cleaned up after themselves. John kept in contact throughout the entire process. He advised us in advance of his schedule and scheduled a time convenient for both of us as to when the landscaping would begin. He also advised which season would be best to install the plants and trees we wanted. John also provided a watering schedule for the new plants.

John does outstanding work. He is professional and thorough. He took the time to make sure I understood every step. John would tell me if something would not work and make suggestions as to what would. He did not try to up-sell in anyway. I would hire him again in a minute and recommend him highly to anyone needing landscaping work.

John was on time arriving for the estimate and was very helpful in giving us the options we had for what we wanted to accomplish with our yard. He advised that he was booked out for the next couple of weeks and could get us in towards the end of April. April came and went and John has not responded to my husbands attempts to contact him via email, text and phone to give an update on when we could expect him to complete our job. We were understanding that there was rain throughout April and that may have delayed his ability to get to our job however we are very disappointed that he has not responded to any of our communications especially now that it is starting to get warmer and our window to get sod installed by another provider has likely passed for the season.

Hard to tell what changes were made during the Tune-Up. Our sprinkler system still appeared the same. They may have tweaked or adjusted the rotor's direction of spray. We did learn of a bad rotor and were provided the written estimate later. They also provided us a written audit listing an estimate for replacing one bad rotor ($50); a suggestion for moving another rotor ($100) and updating the sprinkler controller to a newer version ($185) for a total of $335 more. We ended up doing the work ourselves by replacing the rotor (screwing it in) at a cost of $9.00 for the rotor and installing the updated Hunter Sprinkler Controller for a cost of $67.00. We ordered the controller from Amazon and installed it by removing the wires from the old one and installing the new one. Wanted this company to check and replace [if needed] controller wiring on the outside of the home, but they were not interested in this work, so we knew we could swap out a controller box for that price. Decided we would do the the work ourselves.

Went above and beyond tuning up my sprinkler system

Extremely understaffed. Already booked for the summer as of 6/11/15.

Don't even contact this organization if you're looking for quality. More of a scam than a service.

They showed up on time, no surprises, and did a good job.

I bought a big deal for this service and it went okay. He came out and did submit a software program which was a visual of some ideas he had, but it was thousands of dollars, so....But it did give me some ideas I could probably use. His professionalism was good. He was friendly and told me about his business and where he works from. He seemed pretty knowledgeable and I enjoyed the software program that he provided as a visual. I thought some of the plant choices really were not the best choices for the area because some of them would grow 30 to 50 feet tall which is what I am trying to get away from already because I have trees that are oversized for the lot. But overall it was a pretty good experience.

They were fantastic! They arrived promptly as scheduled after calling to tell me they were on their way. They searched diligently for the source of the water for the sprinkler system, where it was discovered that it was incorrectly done. They checked all the lines and sprinkler heads...they went way beyond the call of service. They spent way more time than I think the job deserved. I would hire them in a heartbeat. Great service and attitude!

He did a lot of work without extra payment when he did the inspection, doing things he could do without adding parts, etc. We were very impressed

We bought a home about 2 years ago that came with an older 6-zone sprinkler system. While the system worked, we noticed some heads were leaking, broken, not watering to our liking, etc. We figured $60 for an estimate and hopefully some tuning up couldn't hurt. After we purchased the deal it was pretty simple to get ahold of John with Shades of Green. He arrived when he said he would, was personable and professional and spent easily over an hour going over our system. I'm going to guess he was here closer to two hours. John raised a few rotors, adjusted a few more, repaired a busted head, buried a head that for some reason had never been buried by the previous owner and even changed out one type of head that wasn't giving good coverage for a different spray pattern style. The work he did was easily worth twice to three times what I paid. Its no secret, they obviously are doing this special to establish relationships with hopefully new longterm customers because they have to be losing money with the special itself. The audit is a good way to make a good first impression and then (if needed) provide an estimate to do more elaborate fixes, tuning up or expansion. Our system certainly needed more work than I expect to get done with the audit. But the audit was an excellent value for the money. After the audit was done I received an email with an estimate of the repairs John felt were needed now and that we should discuss more expensive expansion after the current system was running as it should - which I agree. The estimate did not include any unnecessary work to be done. I agree with everything John said needed to be addressed. The estimate for additional work came to $630 to replace and/or add about 11 rotors and cap two. I haven't had those repairs/updates done yet as winter was getting here - and honestly, I felt the estimate was a bit high and I wanted to check around. That said, I think virtually all sprinkler repair people charge too much (with the exception of this audit deal - you CANNOT beat that price for the work done). Take a walk down any big box home improvement store sprinkler parts isle and you'll quickly realize the parts are dirt cheap in most cases. So, you are paying for labor. The good news is, that should mean there is room to negotiate or find a decent price. I'm getting other estimates now. But, if John's price is within 10-20% of the best deal I feel comfortable with, then I'd gladly pay the difference to have John with Shades of Green do the work. Based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend this deal to family or friends. That said, always compare prices for additional work, but don't necessarily go with the cheapest if you find someone you trust who does a good job.

They just came out and looked at my sprinkler system & made some sprinkler head adjustments.

My experience with them was good. It was easy scheduling the appointment with them. Everything was in a timely manner. They did an adequate job, but I would not use them again in the future.

They explained what they were doing as they went along. Showed me things my panel could do that I had not realized. Very polite and professional.

Initial service and follow-up visits have been marked by a high level of professionalism by the whole crew.
