RENAISSANCE FLOORS

In October of 2020 my husband and I had Renaissance Hardwood Floors refinish existing hardwoods and install and finish new hardwoods where needed. A year ago we started noticing the finish wearing off in places. My husband called them 3 weeks ago because the floors are in terrible condition, buckling at the seams, the finish is worn off in a non walk-in closet, plus many other areas. We heard nothing back until we sent an email complaining even more. Today "the owner" looked at our floors and said this is because they are high traffic areas and we have dogs. My husband said there was nothing more to say and assumed "the owner" had left through the front door. My husband went to the back and let the dogs in. Our protector dog started barking at "the owner" and this man started yelling "F*** You", F*** You" and slammed our front door so hard the Welcome sign came off the door. My husband waited a little bit to call and speak to the owner, not knowing this rude and unprofessional person was the owner. He left a message with the receptionist for the owner to call him. "the owner" sent a text stating, we have no more business after you assaulted me with your dogs. We have had these floors less then 3 years and they need to be refinished. My sister in law, who is a realtor, has recommend this company for years. After the recent problems she has experienced at her house with her own installation, she will not be recommending them either.

Terrible experience!! We hired Renniance flooring to install our wood floors. They ruined our floors. They said they would not fix our floors until they were paid in full. We had to take them to small claims court to get them to fix them. The son "Duston" was mad that they could not get paid before the floors were finished and sent me this text message. "I have learned that people like you are unhappy with themselves and therefore impossible to please. I genuinely feel sorry for you. I can not fathom how miserable your life must be in order for you to be trolling me on a Friday afternoon for no reason other than to instigate an issue that was resolved 2 weeks ago, instead of spending the limited time you have left with your husband. Sad! 😔." they finally fixed them because they had no other choice. After that we had two iPads taken and a bag of old coins. These ppl are pathetic and Duston is a bully and very unprofessional.

Great. They had a deadline while we were on vacation. They moved all of our things out of the house. I was concerned about this but nothing was damaged. The floors were completed and everything moved in ahead of schedule and the floors looked great. They had to come back out to remove some wood because we couldn't get the appliances out. They did that without any problem. Would happily recommend.

Perfectly!! They were high class and very professional! Pleasant to work with.

The workers covered the cabinets and doors with plastic to keep the dust out. They worked late into the evening on the first day. They were here a total of 3 days, but not all of them were full days just the first one. When they had the floor sanded and ready for stain, they made 4 different swatches on the floor for me to choose a color from. Our floor went from scratched and creaky to smooth and beautiful. I think it looks better than when it was brand new. I am very pleased with the result. I would highly recommend Renaissance.

They were very easy and great to work with. I kept adding and subtracting to the bid until we came to a final price. Of the 5 contractors they were very competitive, but most responsive and changed up the quote very quickly each time. We had some unexpected delays in the arrival of the special ordered wood, but the install crew was so much faster than I could have expected. The sanding had so much less dust than I expected. They knocked out installing, sanding, staining and 3 coats of poly on 1,000 square feet of the old and 1,000 square feet of new in just a week. We unfortunately made a few scratches on the new wood when we moved the refrig and piano back our self. (They can do all that for a fee, but we were over budget on home repairs to sell the home) At a special request, they even came back to provided a small amount of stain and poly I could use for small repairs like that.

Strange experience: We had an estimate performed for two areas for new hardwood and to refinish our existing to match. We were unsure if we would get both complete so we received two separate estimates. As we discussed what would be best for us we recieved a coupon in one of those weekly coupon packs that come in the mail. It said the coupon must be presented prior to the estimate, but I called our salesman and asked if it could be used on our job if we did both areas. He actually said that what he had quoted at almost $6K he would do for less than $4K. I immediately set up a time for them to start. We planned a long weekend so we would be out of the house for the remodel. First, the night prior to starting their job I received a call from the salesman who said he made a terrible mistake and would not be able to perform the job for what he had quoted me and it would be a minimum $700 more (what it would cost him to break even). Since this was still a good deal I said ok. We then waited on the installers to show up for almost two hours the next morning as they could not find our house. When they finally showed up we got them started, packed the car and waited for the salesman to come get the first portion of money owed. We had a miscommunication with the installers and it turned out that he was not coming so the installers called him on the phone. We asked how we were to pay the initial sum and he said give it to the installers as they were trustworthy. I gave them $1200 cash, but I had to write out a receipt because they had nothing to acknowledge that I was giving them this cash. When we returned three days later the floors looked good, but the A/C was pumping at 65 deg in August and the air filters were absolutely clogged with dust. There was dust everywere. I couldn't believe they didn't warn to have extra filters on hand from their sanding....who knows how long the A/C was pumping no air because the filters were absolutely clogged. After changing them, we set off to clean all of the fixtures, wall and crown molding because there was dust everywhere, to include a huge stack in our front flower bed that they just left there. They eventually came back to put the final coating on the floor and we didn't complain too much because I was still happy with the price deal we received. After giving them the rest of the money in cash, they didn't even give my wife a receipt as I was at work....kind of made me angry. Anyway, I was going to let all of this go because I was happy with the price and job, but as time goes on I find more and more poor quality. There are a number of wood puttied spots on the new flooring section in both areas from poor installation...none in our original floor so I know it can be done better. Everything did match, but again it was just a slap together job. I'm sure I couldn't do it as quick, but I would have made it look better. Lastly, they got stain on our bathroom door and outside concrete...just sloppy. While you can apparently get a great deal, the poor quality isn't worth it.

Just a bad experience in the estimation process, did not use the contractor as a result.

They did an excellent job. High quality product and installation. It looks fantastic, and we were totally satisfied. There were a couple of minor scheduling snafus, but they always made it right. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for high quality hardwood flooring.

We experienced a slab leak that ruined the entire hardwood flooring in the downstairs of our house built around 2007. The other rooms have carpet, and damage there was minimal. The great room consists of a living room area, dining area, and kitchen with an island in an open floor plan. My husband obtained bids from one other flooring company, and since the pricing was comparable, he chose Renaissance because locally they have a reputation for high quality and excellent workmanship, and the representative, Mitch, was very professional, punctual and helpful. He paid attention to the details, and made some good suggestions. He made sure I would be happy with the stain. We feel that he provided us with the best service he could. His crew with Nahum worked late a couple of nights to speed the job, and were very respectful of our property. They covered the doorways with plastic to keep the dust down while sanding, and when they left the floor was immaculate. Well, the end result is that the new floor--and it is an entirely new floor because everything was stripped out except for the slab itself--looks as good if not better than it did when we first moved in and the house was new and had never been occupied. I gave them a B on the price because it was comparable to the other bidder's and because while it was not a bargain, it was worth paying for such a well-performed job. We most likely could have had the job done for less money, but I have no idea how that would have turned out. I would not hesitate to use Renaissance again. When I mention to friends and acquaintances that we used them, those who know about flooring nod their heads knowingly, affirming that Renaissance is the best in the area.

It went very well. Since the floors were done there were some spots where the finish popped up on the seam. Renaissance was completely available to correct the problem and redid the entire floor to correct the problem.

There was a water leak at some time that had damaged the wood floor behind the toilet in the guest bath room. The boards were warped and discolored. We contacted four companies to provide estimates to repair the damaged area on the wood floor in small guest bath approximately 4 x 7. Several companies we contacted referred us to Renaissance Hardwood Flooring. Made an appointment to meet on September 28th. Received a call the morning of the 28th saying he had hurt his back and would not be able to come out that day. He rescheduled for November 4th. He did not call, he did not come out on the 4th. To date, we have not received a call from this company. We wanted to find a company that was professional, competitively priced and reliable. Would not recommend this company. I guess they didn't need the work.

Overall, I would recommend this company again. They stand by their work and want their customers to be satisfied. As with any job of this nature, expect some delays and hiccups along the way. Not withstanding those issues, they were conscientious, and wanted to get the job done right.

They have a good reputation in town. They are really responsive when you call them about an issue. They do a good job.

Very easy to work with. Very responsive to questions and calls through both e-mail and phone. All work performed on time as scheduled.

Renaissance is a fantastic company to use for wood floors. They stand by their work having an excellent installation crew. We were also very satisfied with the commitment they gave to following up on any issues we had with knotting in the wood, so much so that they replaced any one piece we didn t like. We will definitely use them again for any of our flooring needs.

Tom came and gave me an estimate and told me what to expect with the installation processes. There were different teams for prep, installation, staining and thresholds. Tom came and got each team started and checked on them periodically. He checked their work when they completed to make sure they had done everything correctly and to our satisfaction. We had a family emergency and had to hold the work off for a couple of days, Tom was very understanding. The work was completed within a week, and I am very pleased with my new hardwood floors.
