The house was fine, but getting the final repairs finished was/is an ongoing nightmare. We requested a screened porch door to be replaced over a month BEFORE closing. We are now 8 months after closing and still waiting on this. The warranty work was fine for the first month, with the exception of the painters, who used the wrong color. Nathan, the foreman we worked with, was the worst employee of any organization we've worked with. He didn't show up for basic things that needed attention, like pouring our concrete pad. I, as the client, arrived at 7 AM to direct workers on how it should be laid out. Doors were put on backwards, island was off-center, etc. Small tweaks that should have been caught by the supervisor of the house-and definitely shouldn't have been something we had to fight to change. Overall, we love the house, but it was a nightmare getting through everything.
Description of Work: We used Silverstone to build a 3,500 sq. ft house in Sept 2013. House was 'finished' and we moved in the first of 2014.

I have been trying to resolve a conflict with this company for 4 months without satisfaction. No one will return my calls or try to work with me. They got their money so they do not care about satisfying the customer. They do not stand behind their work and apparently do not care about their reputation. I wrote to the owner and said I would be posting this on Angie's List if I did not get a response from him. After 2 weeks of no response, I am posting my experience and opinion.
Description of Work: I had Silver Stone Homes custom build a home for me in 2008 for total cost of $330,000. When I had a buyer for the home April, 2012, the buyer had the home inspected. They found that the spa tub drain had a leak under the tub and the kitchen cook top vent had never been vented through the roof as required by building code. I had not used the tub Silver Stone owner returned my call on only one occasion, the contractors responsible for the poor installation practices would not return my calls. Finally the heat and air contractor sent someone to vent the cook top through the roof, but sent me a bill.I had to have someone else come fix the drain pipe under the spa tub. I was informed and shown the part that was broken from installation and that the tub drain pipes did not line up and there was a chunk of concrete in the way of the pipes so it couldn't line up.Silver Stone owner Martin Tuesher will not respond to any written letters or e-mails or phone calls. Once they have your money, they are DONE with you. They do not have reliable contractors. The electrical contractors aren't good either, put light switches in odd places. Overall poor builder.I cannot recommend this builder to anyone.
