Description of Work: We recently moved into our new home and quickly discovered that our well water was extremely hard and had a taste slightly different than we were accustomed to. Our concern was the eventual mineral build up and the effect that would have on our plumbing and appliances. We decided to call General Ionics and made the appointment with Dean, the owner, to come out to test the water and discuss how their filtration system could correct our problem. Dean came out and was very thorough with the testing and answering all of our questions. One week later, our filtration and Reverse Osmosis systems were installed on time as promised. We have seen a major improvement in the quality of the water and were impressed with the professional manner of Dean and his crew. I would highly recommend General Ionics.

Description of Work: Arrived on time per the appointment. Installed Water Conditioning System and Reverse Osmosis system. Were professional and considerate of our concerns with protecting our wood floors. Installed everything to our satisfaction. Did a good job of clean up.

Description of Work: Installed a Puronics-brand whole-house water softener/conditioner and under-sink (kitchen)reverse osmosis filtering unit for drinking and cooking. Salesperson (Tom) came out to the house a week before the install to test the water, mainly for hardness, to size the softener unit and describe their products (ie. the "salespitch", which in our case wasn't really needed since we were set on buying this brand already). Tom has been doing technical sales in this field for a number of years and was able to answer all our questions as well as do the testing. He gave us an appointment with Dean who is (one of?)the owner(s)of General Ionics of Edmond which has been here since 1983. This was the key factor in deciding to buy and install from this vendor; these guys are very experienced and have done all manner of commercial, municipal and residential water treatment for ~30 years, based right here in Edmond. Dean still does residential installs and was able to fit the water conditioner unit and brine tank into a very tight hot water heater closet which happened to be where the main enters our house. This avoided having to do a long water line run through the attic to garage on other side of the house. They drained our hot water heaters during the install and inspected for scale to give us an idea of how much life we might have left in those (7 years old now). Dean also fixed the natural gas heater vent which had been knocked off by a roofing job we had done a year ago (was venting into the closet/attic unknown to us). They were very courteous and informative and other than being a very hot day for outside work this was a pleasant experience. The only B rating I give is for the price as this is probably the most expensive system you can buy but hopefully the quality I believe is there will justify the expense over the long run. We had some recent family health concerns and wanted to eliminate drinking water quality as a variable (possibly carcinogenic chlorination disinfection byproducts). |Products installed: Puronics Terminator IQ 0820-B (8" diameter tank)water softener/conditioner, Puronics Micromax 6500 drinking water filtration/reverse osmosis (under-sink).
