Fairway Plumbing

HORRIBLY. They treated me like I was stupid and only plunged my toilets. Never fixed the problem. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED!!

They were great. This is the second time ive used them and they were very professional. I usually am very cautious about potentially abusive/sloppy plumbers that cheat you out of money but they were great. They sent out a young man who was very knowledgeable and efficient. Not sloppy, elplained to me what he was doing and took pride in what he did. I live in a nicer old home and like I said I am very cautious about hiring abusive plumbers. They were great. Im using them from now on.

This company should never be used by anybody because they lie to you. They came out and cut a whole in our wall and never came back when they said they would. He was suppose to come back with a part and fix it. He never did. The 2nd plumber came out and said he couldn't come out until tomorrow. They still have not come out to finish the job. When we called him the next day he sounded like he was still asleep. He was suppose to come out at 7:30 when the parts place opens. We then called the receptionist and she said the store wasn't suppose to open until 8:30. There is a total lack of communication and tons of lying to their customers. They don't do what they say they are going to.

Fairway told us this would be a 2-day job. They "finished" after 2 days, but then let us know that a city inspector would have to inspect it before they could lay the cement. They promised to call and schedule an inspector, and he would show up in a couple of days. After calling them everyday for 3 days and being told to be patient, we called the city. Fairway had never called the city to request an inspector. When we informed them of this, they said it was just a mistake and they scheduled one to come the next business day. The job didn't pass inspection. They had broken an airduct, not secured the pipes, and they had done no water testing. When the plumber came to see the inspection report, he argued with me about whether or not he should have to fix the problems. He then said he would go out to his car to call the inspector, but instead, he left. I canceled the check I had given them on the first day they started work. We called the owner, who defended his plumber and felt that we were being impatient. At this point our bathroom had been unusable for a week. There was also a layer of cement and dirt on every surface of my living room, dining room, and kitchen, since they did not use any sheeting while jackhammering the foundation. My bathroom cabinets had mud on them, the tub was full of trash, and the paint on my walls was scratched in several places. The plumbers came back out that night and fixed what the inspector had said to. The next day, it passed inspection. Fairway contracted another company to lay the cement, which went well. We then told the owner that his check had been canceled, and that we would need a much lower price for all of the damage done in the bathroom, the mess in the rest of the house, and the extra week it took for them to complete the job. The owner refused. He thought we were trying to get out of paying all together, and would not listen to our requests for discounts. In the end, we finally got him to agree to the teacher discount of 5%, and a $300 Merry Maid cleaning service. He said he would schedule the service for the following week. We gave them a check. We were told by Fairway that Merry Maids would be at our home at 2 on Saturday. At 2:45, we called Fairway because Merry Maids was not there. The owner got very angry and told us we need to learn to have patience. Merry Maids never came. The owner and his plumber both got on the phone and began to talk about how bad of a person my husband is, and how he must not make much money being a teacher. Then they told us they would be at our house the following Thursday to beat my husband up. It's only Monday right now, so I'm not sure how that is going to go. Stay away from Fairway.

Initial services went well. The main sewer line was replaced quickly and efficiently. However unknown to myself and apparently the plumber there was a washing machine drain line that fed into the main line and it had been broken and not connected by the plumber. After the dirt was filled back into the trench I noticed the area around the clean out was continually damp. Fairway sent a plumber out who was an hour late, with no phone call to say he was running late. He contacted the plumber who had done the original work and stated that they had seen no line so they assumed that disturbing the earth had caused an old washing machine drain line to collapse and that they wanted to charge me $185 do re-inspect the entire line. I insisted that this was a case of them not doing a good job on the initial main line installation but they refused to acknowledge this. Since they were going to charge me fully for fixing the line and not take any responsibility for it, I decided to terminate their services and contact another plumber to do the work.

When I purchased the house I was advised that there was only a belly in the sewer line and that it should not cause any problems. However from day one when I would run the water for more than a few minutes water from any fixture in the house would back up into the main bathrooms bathtub and take several minutes or even hours to completely drain. The plumber augured out the main sewer line from the house and after pulling a fair amount of roots back recommended that we send a camera down to see the extent of the root issues. We did this the next day and they showed me all of the points where roots were coming into the sewer line and pointed out that the roots were causing the line to come apart in one certain spot.They offered an estimate to replace the entire line, but they also made several other recommendations for how I could handle the problem since I had not had any slow drain issues after they augured out the sewer line. Their no nonsense advice and lower cost options that I could do for myself until I decide to replace the line were very helpful and appreciated. The only minor issue I had was they canceled the initial appointment due to rain but only called me when they were about to miss the appointment window. They said they would be there between 12-3 but at 2pm they called to cancel because of rain. Even though it had been raining all day, including that morning. So if they were going to cancel it would have been better to cancel before the appointment time as I had taken time off from work to wait for them.

I have used them before; they did the job very promptly and for a good price which is why I called them again. The guy came out and did few things but it shut off again. He said that he needs some part. We called them and gave them the information they had requested. We had no reply since then so we called them back and they said that they've ordered the part and it would take three to five days but still not got the part. They promise to call back but never call back. They are not responsive at all. They have not finished the job yet. He said that he would be here between 12 and 3 O'clock but he was here at 6 O'clock.

He called to tell us he was running late, which was nice of him. We described the problem and after his first attempt to fix the probelm, he filled up the toilet tank all the way and flushed. Water gushed out of the bottom of the toilet into the kitchen where I was making dinner. He then stood there, looked at us, and asked if we had any towels we could use to clean up the mess. After my husband and I helped him clean the mess, he started working on the toilet again. At one point, my husband walked passed the bathroom and heard him say, "I hate my job." Now, I'm sure I would hate my job too if I were a plumber, but I really don't want to hear you complain about your job. When he finished, the downstairs toilet functioned properly. Although, later that evening, we realized that now, when you flush the upstairs toilet, the downstairs toilet gurgles. We called Fairway Plumbing back and they sent out the same service man who informed us that this service was not covered by our home warranty, that he would not be able to finish the job that day, and that he would have to bring someone else with him to help. When I asked what would have caused the problem, since it wasn't occuring before he fixed the toilet, he said that he must not have gotten the entire stoppage. So, why isn't it covered again??? We are not thrilled with the service we received and we will NOT be using them again.

Excellent work from initial contact to finish! Because they they were initially contracted through my home warranty company, I was worried. However, they were superbly professional. They minimized the hole they had to cut in the slab to access the leak and replaced the sand removed from under the slab with new, clean sand. They took before and after pictures of the repai & e-mailed them to me. They recommended installing hammer arrestors on the hot & cold water lines to help prevent future line leaks, which we had done the next day. The best part was when the lead tech, Mason, recommended we contact our insurance agency about coverage, since some carpet was stained from the leak. This led to reimbursement of nearly half the slab leak repair cost and replacement of the carpet by the insurance agency!

It cost me a couple of thousand dollars per unit. They worked very quickly. The people who came out to do the work seemed knowledgeable. When I used my home guarantee they sent out Fairway Plumbing so I used them too. The price was reasonable. Overall, I was satisfied with their work. Although the inspector who came out to check it told me there was no sticker on the hot water heater and I got the impression from him that they should be an inter-permit in what they installed and I don’t think there was any. We have to wait and see which way it goes. The price was very good. I have not had any problems with the unit. They were punctual. There were a couple of problems when they installed the water heaters and we called them to come back out and check it. We called the gas company as their boss wanted us to call them as a part of their process. So we went their whole process and had to get the gas set off. It turned out that there was a minor leak. It would have been fine if they had installed it property but we went through quite a round about process to get there.
