Overall good experience. made good suggestions regarding plumbing work. also explained the work as it was being performed.
Description of Work: Called regarding two leaking faucets. Promised to be there between 3 and 5PM. called at 4.30PM saying will arrive within 30 min. They did. Carried out a quick appraisal, went to get parts and completed the work. I included extra plumbing work as well.

I just feel that they would listen, were understanding and human. I just thought it was a very good experience with a plumber which is hard to find. Everything they did was wonderful.
Description of Work: The first time I had them out they couldn't find the issue but they were just absolutely wonderful so we called them back when I had to have our water heater replaced. I was distraught because I had just replaced that water heater - it was a bad one - they were absolutely wonderful. They were professional, they were knowledgeable, reasonable and understanding. The situation was they took care of my plumbing problem. I had to have a water heater replaced and they also had to clear a stoppage and everything they did they did well, punctually and they were very professional.

They have a 30 day guarantee, so if the problems happens again within that time frame, they will come back out to open up the line free. Not too sure how many businesses would do this. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Came home to find the toilets clogged on Wednesday night (12/&). Called Cherokee the next morning and they had someone out to my house with in 60 minutes. Both gentlemen were very courteous. Had the problem fixed in less than 30 minutes. They gave me several ideas on how this could have happened and how to prevent it in the future.

Colin and his associate came to the house, looked at the current installation, and we discussed various types of water heaters, prices, physical requirements for tankless and high efficiency heaters (like installing larger diameter gas lines, electrical requirements, etc.). In the end, we decided to go with the standard unit. They replaced the heater the very next day. The installation likes fine to me, no trash was left, and the two young men who did the work were pleasant and efficient.

I am delighted with the work performed. I called on Wed. afternoon and the plumber came the next day at the time we agreed on.
Description of Work: My son and I are renovating a home that he is living in. W e had a shower installed, by another plumbing company, in the half bath. The drain in the shower and sink would not drain. The Cherokee plumber had to take the drain apart in order to use a "snake" on it. He also took care of some other issues in my kitchen. I was very pleased with all the work performed and will use again.

I called other plumbers first who all had a 2-3 day lead time. This plumber had a 1 day lead time which wasn't ideal (since I had to shut the water off until I could get someone out), but the best I could get in this area. The plumber showed up and evaluated the work needing to be done and gave me a rough estimate of costs. Once I agreed he had to run to town to get parts. I expected him to have parts on hand for simple fixes like this, but it wasn't too big of deal, just took a bit of time. Once he finished, his final costs were less then what he estimated and were very reasonable. I will use this company again if I need any future work.

The old kitchen faucet needed replacing - water was spraying out of little holes in the metal and pouring out of the bottom of the fixture and the handle wouldn't turn the water completely off. The old garbage disposal needed to be removed because it had not worked in years and was causing the sink drain to back up with filthy water in the sink, necessitating constant plunger action to use the sink at all. The pipes under the kitchen sink were leaking to the point that one half of the divided sink couldn't be used in any way that might let water get into it. On a Tuesday at 12:30PM I called a plumber that was high on Angie's List of recommendations, but they couldn't get to me till "next week". Since not having a functioning kitchen sink for another week wasn't an option, I called Cherokee Plumbing from the List next. The lady that answered the phone was so cheerful and friendly! Good phone skills right out of the box always gives me a great feeling about the company I'm dealing with. Kudos to Cherokee Plumbing for making an excellent first impression! Since it was 12:30 in the afternoon, it never crossed my mind that I might get someone to come out that same afternoon - I'd been hoping for at least the next day. The nice lady on the phone was very sympathetic and said "we can't have you going with no kitchen sink! Would it be alright for us to come out this afternoon?" I was surprised and pleased and said "of course!" I told her I'd need to go pick up a cheapie replacement faucet (we're remodeling, so the fixture will be temporary till we get going in the kitchen). She said her guys could pick one up for me, and probably cheaper than I could get myself. No problem with that! She said they would call me when they were about half an hour from my house, if that was okay. Again, no problem! The plumbers called at 2:00PM to let me know they'd arrive in half an hour and to clarify what work I needed done. They also had me describe the type of faucet that was in there currently so that they could pick up the correct type to replace it. Two nice young men arrived half an hour later and got right to work. One did the plumbing work which left the other free to go to the supply house for several special parts they ended up needing. They couldn't have been nicer nor made the appointment go more smoothly! They explained just what they were doing, what they were replacing, how they were repairing things, and why. I felt 100% comfortable with them and their skills. They cleaned up the area, removed all trash and left everything neat and nice before they left. I was very happy with the entire process of dealing with Cherokee Plumbing and will certainly be using them as our plumbing company for any work (including upcoming remodeling) in the future!

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received from Cherokee Plumbing. From start to finish, they were friendly, professional, and efficient! We had been without hot water for three days, so when the plumber arrived, I was thrilled. He introduced himself, shook, my hand, and I led him to the laundry room. He checked out the hot water heater, and said it was fine, relit the pilot light, and checked my drains, finally deciding that there must have been a small clog in those lines that caused water to back up and put out the pilot light in the hot water heater. We tried to cause it to back up again by running the dishwasher and washing machine at the same time, but it wouldn't back up. In the end, he said he wouldn't charge me for the visit. I insisted, but he said that the visit didn't warrant a charge. In the end, I gave up and told him that, because of the obvious integrity of the company, they would be my plumber from now on. Their customer service is wonderful, they have integrity, and I will never use another company. Cherokee Plumbing is awesome!

I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience from the time I first called Cherokee until the job was completed. Colin was a delight to speak with on the phone, and when I mentioned I found them on Angie's List, he offered a discount! When Ron came to do the job, he was really a positive person with the patience of a saint. I will definitely use Cherokee for all my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Replaced all the plumbing trim in the master bath. Since I had ordered the trim on line, there were a couple of issues to compensate for, but Ron did a simply superb job. He was very congenial, efficient and professional.

Less than 1.5 hours later, they were done and told me to turn on my bathtub faucets. The pressure was OUTSTANDING! I was easily able to have both tubs flowing + several faucets running and I had very good pressure from all of them. With only one faucet on....the pressure was excellent. Total charge was only $160. So to recap: They were on time if not a tad early They properly assessed the problem They provided an estimate They immediately performed the service after I approved the estimate They finished ahead of the estimated completion time They finished the job UNDER the cost estimate ($250 est / $160 actual) Is it possible to have a better resolution for this issue and this company? I don't think so. I will definitely be using this company again! Thanks Cherokee for your outstanding work!!
Description of Work: I've had water pressure issues for a little over a year now. Pressure was not ever great in this house but it really began to cause problems about a year ago. About 2-3 weeks ago, I noticed a system wide reduction in water pressure. For every faucet, it would come on strong then drop to a slow trickle then slowly build back up. This was also the case for my refrigerator cold water dispenser and washing machine....every faucet had this. On Friday 8/12/11, it got much worse. I would turn on the water and it would blow down very quickly and zero water would flow....nothing. Then it would take anywhere from 30 secs to 2 minutes to build back up. I couldn't flush the toilet and wash my hands at the same time and I was almost unable to take a shower. Cherokee showed up on time! They gave me a range of noon to 2pm and they showed up at like 11:59 after calling.....then I showed them the problem and they found the pressure reduction valve. They worked on that for a few minutes then said it was frozen solid and probably corroded to the point where it needed to be replaced. They had to dig it out.....and started grabbing shovels (they were eager to get to work). I asked for an estimate of price and time and they said probably about $250 or so and about 2 hours of work. I had a few other companies coming to bid on the job...but that price was fine and they were going to do the work right then so I approved the work and canceled the other companies.

I called Cherokee plumbing first thing in the morning and they said they could have someone out that afternoon and gave a specified time frame. They asked if someone could come early, would I be at home and prefer to be contacted earlier. I said yes. They did call about 3 hours earlier than the beginning of the specified window. The worker arrived and diagnosed the problem. He had to leave to get the parts needed. He came back and fixed the problem quickly for a price lower than expected. The only thing I would have changed to make this an ideal experience is if they had given me a quote to tell me about how much the repair would be before fixing it. Overall, this was a great experience.

The past two winters the pipes to the shower in our master bedroom bath froze during blizzards, when outside air temp was 10 degrees F or below and winds were 40+ mph. Thank goodness the copper lines did not burst. That part of our bathroom is over the covered patio below, and I suspected that the lines ran under the floor in a poorly insulated space exposed to the cold. I sent a note to Colin at Cherokee Plumbing explaining the situation and asking him to come by to take a look. He called and discussed and then arranged to come by the house. He spent 30-45 minutes looking things over (including the other job I'll describe below), and gave me some advice about where to look for the pipes, and suggested that they be replaced with pex. He gave me a verbal estimate (I honestly don't remember what it was) but said he wouldn't know until the pipes had been located. No charge for the house call. I told him I would find the pipes, expose them, and call him back. So a week later I had found the pipes in the covered patio ceiling as I suspected, by tearing down a 4X8 piece of plywood. I was able to trace the pipes to where they went back up through the floor into the wall separating the bathroom from a closet, and cut a hole in the sheetrock to expose them. While Colin was at the house the first time I showed him where the handle of the inside valve to shut off the water to the house was behind the pedestal of the sink in the downstairs 3/4 bath. It was the old style multi-turn valve and was no longer functional. I wanted it replaced with a quarter turn ball valve. He told me he couldn't accurately estimate the cost until he could see what was behind the wall but that it would probably be at least $250, so I told him I would cut a hole in the sheetrock and send him a picture. Once I had exposed the pipes in the upstairs, cut a hole in the sheetrock downstairs, and sent a picture of the exposed valve downstairs, he confirmed the estimate for the valve replacement, and told me the pipe replacement upstairs would run as high as $600. The day they came to start the work it was mid-afternoon on a Wednesday. They started with the downstairs valve replacement, and I got home from work in time to see that job finished. The scope of work was a bit different from what they planned, and he got the work done for $160 parts and labor, versus his $250 estimate. Colin put off starting on the shower work until I got home because he wanted to talk about some things, especially the possibility of replacing the shower valve as part of the job, as he said it looked to be in bad shape. I could see that myself, which surprised me because I had the valve replace three years ago by another plumber (who shall remain nameless) who apparently replaced the malfunctioning valve (I had broken it, don't ask), with an old valve instead of a new one (and charged me $500 to boot because he had to change out all the trim as well). Anyway, I agreed to having him replace the valve while he was in there. It was late in the day, and he decided not to begin that part of the job so late in case he needed unexpected parts. We arranged to have him come back on Friday. He put the shower back in working order until then. On Friday they arrived about 10:30 and when I came home for lunch they were about done. I had called form the office and asked him to put shutoff valves on the supply lines in the closet wall while he was at it, and that was done too when I got home. The total for the pipe replacement, shower valve and cartridge replacement, and shutoff valve installation came to $475, parts and labor, this compared to the $600 estimate that had not included the shower valve or shutoff valve work. I was very pleased with Colin and his crew every step of the way. They did what they said they would do and did it right the first time. Colin spent a considerable amount of time at the jobsite supervising the work. He was courteous, professional and friendly. I will definitely call him again if I need plumbing work done.
Description of Work: Replaced 1" service valve to main house line in downstairs powder room. Replaced shower valve and cartridge in master bedroom bath. Replaced 1/2" copper water lines from connections in master bedroom closet wall to new shower valve with 1/2" pex and installed 2 new 1/2" valves on supply lines.

Colin was very professional and provided a prompt quote detailing the work to be done. Promptly started the work, completed the work, and cleaned up any residual "trash." The work was started and completed within the timeframe promised which was great as I had to drive in from out-of-state for the job and to take the house over from renters. I would definitely hire CHEROKEE PLUMBING out of Edmond OK again if needed.

I woke up this morning to the sound of water dripping through my ceiling. Making matters worse, we are leaving town this afternoon. Mary at Cherokee plumbing was kind enough to re-arrange schedules to get someone out there to take a look. The plumber was very professional and teompartilyh fixed the problem until I return next week. Fantastic service all the way around. UPDATE: Upon my return, Cherokee came back and fixed the problem as promised. THey sent two plumbers to handle the problems (Alex, Nick) and they did a great job. Both were professional, explaining the problems and giving me options related to minimizing the cost of repair. Definitely a postivie experience and I highly recommend them. Don

The job went very well. Colin was punctual, the work was performed in a timely manner. They cleaned up when they were through, although they were very neat while working, so there was not a lot for them to clean up. The price was very fair for the amount of work they did. One of the installations needed tweaking, and Colin actually came back that same evening. He wanted to show one of his crew what needed to be done, so he returned the next day with his crew and finished the adjustments. We will definitely use him again for our plumbing needs.

Called Colin on a Sunday. He answered the phone and told us what to do to get us by until Monday so that we wouldn't have to pay extra for a Sunday service call. He then came by Monday morning to assess the problem. He sent a technician (Chad) back later in the day to complete the repair. Both men were very friendly and helpful. It was all day before Chad made over, but I imagine he was busy on other jobs. He was able to fix the broken line without tearing up the yard. They also gave us a military discount which we appreciated very much. All in all a good experience in what could have been a disasterous one. Will definitely be using them again in the future.

I had a washer drain that was stopped out though not completely. He came out and took care out of it. There was a problem with the equipment so he had to come again. He was very nice. He gave me some advice on what to do not to have it stop up again. He had to come out twice. He did not charge me for the second visit because the problem was with the equipment. I don?t have anything to compare the price with but I don?t think it was exorbitant. He was very punctual. He offered to come out again if anything went wrong.
