"Thank you for review. We put in a top quality fence. The materials were the best available and the construction was done properly. You wanted to me to replace a picket that was good but you had concerns about it so I did it. You didn't like the gap on the gate. I had talked with you about the gap being needed so that as the gate wood ages and cures it won't start rubbing. But I replaced the picket as you wished. We had not tied the fence into your neighbors fence because without talking with them to get permission we can't do that. Also the fence was turned the other way. The only way to cover the small gap was to put a picket on it as I did. Creating a clean finish and not touching their fence. I made sure the gate didn't drag when I left. You wouldn't let me put a reasonable gap on the bottom to allow for some aging sag. I also said I would adjust any problems you might have with the gate or any part of the fence. As I see it we did everything we were contracted to do and that you ask us to do. The post, wood and construction was done to the highest standard. You stated that I gave you a 5 year warranty on the job, but you have not called me about the gate problem. The only real issue you have is a dragging gate. I would have and still will adjust the gate. Your review seems a little critical to me but I appreciate it and will still stand behind the warranty. Just call me and I will adjust that gate if it still needs adjusting. I would have thought by now you would have called with a problem like a dragging gate. We do not take any money down but have it on our contract that we expect payment the day we finish. So asking you for payment was not out of line. I always do a walk around with customers when I come by to collect the payment. That is when I correct and adjust anything the customer wants to be changed. It isn't always needed but do it to please the customer. (The concrete in your trash can was something I do not allow them to do without customer permission. Most of the time it isn't a problem. "I would like to say up front I can't begin to address everything you have said. You left out accusing us of stealing mail and hanging out running up and down the street looting mailboxes. You admitted you were not home for several weeks. How would you know this. I checked with the post office and no reports of stolen mail on you street. I am only responding to this because I want my customers to see we are not as you have described. I will try to formulate a professional response to these accusations. I see you are very liberal with your explanation of the events and how they took place. First your husband was not unhappy with the fence and he said it was great. Only you were unhappy with items that really were not as you describe. A privacy fence is not supposed to have spaces in it as the older one in the other side of your yard has. The cracks were very small and in knots on the wood. Cedar has knots. I never said any wood was bad and would not have put up a fence with poor quality wood. Those are you words. You seem to think someone needs to babysit our men, why? we have never had a problem like you describe in over 20 years of business. You said other things to my crew and me that you are not saying in this response. Those statements you left out were very insulting.. At no time was your husband unhappy with the crew. In fact he was going to work and leaving most of the time. I was not aware that he was sick. When we made the adjustments you wanted my crew to stay around until you got home from work so you could meet them. I told you no because they had made the small adjustments you had ask for. They can't stand around for two hours waiting. There job was done. I am the person you deal with not the crew. You said I was rude and you would report me to Angie's list and hung up the phone. I am really sorry you have a problem with me but you didn't have a problem with the fence until I would not agree with you. You wanted the changes made and I agreed to make adjustments. But you wanted more then that. You accused us of other things that were completely rude and insulting. My men are both over 40 and professional. Not high school kids as you suggested. All you had to do was ask you husband. In the beginning you agreed to everything we did, so I am lost as to why you are so unhappy. Those adjustments were miner, the fence was built like all privacy fence we build. You never ask to be called when we were coming back to make adjustments. You simply never ask me to do that. You have stated more ensues in this response to our work then you ever told me about. Finally I have been in business sense 1995, I have the DBA certificate to prove it. I take pride in our business and my crew. We care as you can see from ALL the other responses on Angie's list. I am really surprised you want to respond about our business this way. I am sorry you are not happy but I don't think anything I can do will change your attitude. We built the fence you ask for and changed the things you didn't like. You wanted a privacy fence but then wanted tiny spaces between each picket. Those spaces are from wood shrinkage after age. We can't build that into a fence. Spaces less the an 1/8 of an inch. I only explain so anyone reading this can get an idea of what we are talking about. It took you about three weeks to realize you were unhappy and another three weeks to write this scathing report. It states on the contract you signed that you would pay the day we finished. You had not planned on doing that and were not able to get a check to me until five days later. You claim you mailed it and it returned. then you mailed it again and I received. Why would you think we were not a real company because of that? I'm sorry but I don't think the fence is the problem. Non of the other customers have even remotely responded as you have. I just don't get it. I'm sorry you are unhappy and feel the way you do. Warren Christy Owner"

"I am glad you were pleased with the fence. We have a contract with company to remove the old fence. At that time they were not doing as agreed and it caused a problem with getting the fenced removed. I am sorry for that. The fence was on the curb but not removed. The fence was finished before you paid. The only thing was the removal of the old fence which we don't include a charge for. I am sorry you were disappointed with that part of you experience. "I am very sorry for the communication problems. We wanted to do the job for you as soon as we had an opening. We worked your job in to our list earlier then some other larger jobs. It is impossible to know when with construction, rain, and materials delays. Yes, I should have called but with most customers they are glad to get the fence up ASAP. I made the decision to do it the day we started on it. We had a window of opportunity. If I had waited because I hadn't called two days in advance we would not have gotten it done as soon as we did. As far as the fence on the neighbors yard the house is empty and the Realtor said that we could put it there. We had it picked up with in 48 hours. I realize I could have called you the day we were going to finish. I got caught up with logistics problems and was not able to call. As I was ready to call you saying we had finished my crew told me you had paid them and all was good. I guess all was not that good. Very sorry again for the lag in communication. "I am very sorry for not communicating to your expectation. It is very difficult to return all calls to the customers expectation. We try to handle everyone and keep our promises. We do build a great fence and keep our word on Warranty. We try to meet all construction time schedules but as outside construction goes we deal with weather, materials, and general problems such as cutting cables etc. that slows down jobs.
