+ -1 moreFirst I will begin by explaining the reason for my "Fair" rating regarding price. The Angie's List coupon for this service was $44.00 which was a bit misleading. As I found out when the Aire Serve representative arrived -- the price was based per A/C unit. My home has two A/C units, so the price doubled. This should have been spelled out in the coupon offering. Other than this miscommunication, the Aire Serve technician provided excellent services (filter cleaning, minor repairs, etc.) and made some other helpful recommendations. I would certainly recommend using them for any of your A/C or Heating needs.

Description of Work: Aire Service serviced the (2) air conditioners in my home. The serviceman was very thorough and professional. He explained what he was doing as he worked on the units. On one of the units he found the freon very low and added the necessary amount. This was $255 and said the unit may have a leak and should be checked next season. He effiently cleaned both units. I will continue using this Heating & A/C company.

Description of Work: Tech did a full inspection of system, cleaned parts that needed cleaning, added some refrigerant, and made recommendations on ways to extend the life of our 10 year old a/c system. We decided to have him install a preloader and haven't had any trouble with our a/c this year. Several of our neighbors with units of comparable age had to replace their a/c units this summer, so I feel like we got our money's worth from this low cost alternative.

The technician was on time and checked out my system and I indicated the back part of my house was not being cooled and heated as well as I liked and he said they could put another return back there to draw more air or use less restrictive filters. I chose the less restrictive filters.

Description of Work: Our HVAC was old and needed replacing. Our duct work was in the slab and collapsing. We received bids from 6 different HVAC contractors. Andy came to our house twice to answer questions during the bid process. Andy also provided detailed answers to our emailed questions. Clint and his installation crew called me at 6 am every morning (as we agreed) and was onsite shortly thereafter to work. Clint was in uniform, pleasant, professional, knowledgeable, and neat as a pin. We anticipated 3 - 4 days. The work took 3 1/2 days. We were without A/C for two days. The installation crew worked in a very clean manner. At the end of each day everything was picked up and stowed neatly. The following Monday after installation was completed, both Clint and Scott called to update me on the OKC city inspection. Clint met the inspector at my house on Tuesday and found nothing wrong. Our new American Standard HVAC system is outstanding. Cool, dry, quiet, clean, and comfortable.

When the A/C went out at one of my houses. they responded almost immediately and discovered that the dogs had eaten through one of the lines. They quickly fixed the problem. Loved the service, the young men who responded and the outcome.
Description of Work: I have called them twice and they were exceptionally prompt. They found the problem each time very quickly and fixed it equally fast thus keeping the cost at a minimum. Wouldn't hesitate to call them. I bought the service package and we have yet to complete that deal. We talked about the fact that since it is so hot outside and my A/C is working fine we would wait to fulfill that contract.

+ -1 moreI called Air Serve to come check my a/c unit because we have an existing property damage claim from the recent hail storm (May 2012). Our insurance adjuster suggested that we should do some minor cosmetic repairs on the condenser fins and our generous insurance company approved and gave us funds for the repair. However, Donnie Young gave us his expert advice that doing such thing would just compromise and will create more damages to the a/c unit. Such honest opinion made me think that I made the best decision of hiring them to do maintenance of our a/c and heating system. Hire this company and your a/c and heating system will be in good hands.

+ -1 moreAire Serv was amazing! They came out and by far gave us the lowest estimate of the 5 different companies we had come out. They actually took the time to correctly diagnose the problem with our system instead of doing a quick scan and telling us to replace the entire system like the other companies had done. Donny gave me a very honest estimate and when they came out another problem arose while they were doing the job and they fixed that problem for FREE! I can't speak highly enough about this company and their workmanship. Would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone... especially those of you who have a problem that the other guys either can't figure out or are just telling you that you need the whole system replaced!
Description of Work: They replaced the A-coil in our system (which had been ruined due to the wrong freon being put into our system) and replaced the plenum. They also did some ductwork for FREE that was not included in the original estimate. Amazing service.

+ -1 moreThe technician (Clint) actually came out early due to a cancellation. This was one of my better experiences with a heating and air service. Clint performed a 15 point AC inspection and tuneup. He replaced a couple filters on the furnace and cleaned the AC units so that they would operate at their max performance. I was actually worried about my upstairs unit because it wasn't cooling well. After Clint finished, the upstairs started to cool better and I could tell that it was blowing colder air out of the vents. The technician was very nice, knowledgeable and explained to me in detail about both of my units. I came away very impressed with the service that was provided and would definitely recommend to others.

+ -1 moreThe Angie's List Deal was very popular, because I called the day I purchased it to make an appointment and they were already booked up for the next three weeks! However, when my appointment day finally arrived, the man who came out was very polite, did a thorough inspection of my vents, the inside unit, and the outside unit. He washed off my filters (I have some sort of air purifying system) and told me that my outdoor unit was wired incorrectly. I had noticed that when I turn down the AC inside my house it would take at least 5-10 minutes for the air to actually 'kick on', and he told me it was because on the outside unit there was some sort of delay wired in that did not need to be there. He re-wired around the delay, and I now my air comes on immediately when I turn it down! I'm glad I purchased this deal on Angie's List, as I have now found a good company to call if/when something goes wrong!

We live in the country, and he carried shoe covers which he put on to make sure he didn't soil our carpets. This was very much appreciated and something I've never seen in the 30+ years I've lived here. He borrowed our water to clean the unit, and went way beyond what was expected in making sure the hose was put back in place properly. Overall, Andy was respectful, answered our questions very explicitly and with patience, and based on some of the answers to questions we asked, very honest. A very pleasant and refreshing experience, indeed.

+ -1 moreIn mid April it was getting warm in OKC so I was checking the AC out and it wasn't performing well. In my email I got an Angie List coupon offer for AC spring checkup for $44. I thought that was a great deal. I had a party the next weekend and needed to make sure the AC was working. I contacted them right away and needed them to do the work within 4 days (short notice). They came out as scheduled. Unfortunately it was cold and raining when the service tech came. It was too cold to take temperature and pressure readings so we re-scheduled for another service trip when it was warmer. I was not charged for this visit. Well, in May it did get warmer and I wanted to schedule the service on my AC. I saw that Air Serv had extended the coupon offer into May so I bought another coupon for $44 because I have 2 systems in my home, one a heat pump. So for $88.00 I got both of my AC units ready for the hot summer days of Oklahoma!

He explained to both my husband and myself what the problem was (failed fan motor that needed replacing), how we could fix some basic things on our own, and discussed new technologyin thermostats that could help lower our monthly bill. The best part was his promptness, though. I called him and he was at my front door in less than an hour! Talk about great customer service! + -1 moreWe had several companies give us a bid, but Aire Serv gave us a fair price and suggested exactly what we needed. They came over when they said they would and worked around our schedule. He (sorry, I can't remember his name) went over everything they had done, explained it to us throughly, went over the programmable thermostat in detail, set it the way I wanted it, and gave us a manual for it. He told us we could call him at any time and he would be glad to come back and take care of anything we needed help with. They were extremely nice and helpful and we would recommend them to everyone.
Description of Work: Aire Serv replaced our 19 year old heating and air system with an American Standard high efficiency 2-speed air conditioner, a 2-stage variable-speed gas furnace, a touch-screen programmable thermostat, an additional return air grille and duct run. We received a warranty that includes 20 years for the heat exchangers, 12 years on the compressor, 5 years parts, 5 years labor, which includes a 1 year comfort protection plan with 2 visits and filter changes.
