I visited with Donald Kennedy, the owner, in person before we began the job. He informed me his fees are $400 per day for one person and $700 per day for 2. However, he informed me his days were approx. 5-6 hrs. not 8 hrs. Therefore the fees were greater than $100 per hr. I was desperate to have two laundry room cabinets re-made after a general contractor , Joe Bailey, had made them incorrectly, but refused to re-do them. I had many of the supplies on hand, so very little materials were needed. Don asked me about adding an under counter light and I said sure. Don had assured me his company "does it all", so anything else which I needed to have repaired he could do so. When Troy his assist. purchased the undercounter light, he asked me if I would like him to purchase one to replace a non-functioning light in the kitchen. I said "sure"... When they gave me the bill, they had 2x their labor over the initial quote AND CHGED ME $230 for a VERY few supplies. I was in shock...all total they were on the job less than 9 hrs. They arrived at 10 a.m. on Thurs., but Troy was working primarily alone for most of the day---they left at 3:30 on Thurs. Then Troy returned at 11 a.m. on Fri. and left at 2. When I queried them on the cost, they said they were out "running errands" for the job...I DO NOT believe it took them that long, nor cost that much, when I had the majority of all the materials "on hand"...Additionally, there was a dryer vent which they removed when moving the cabinet, which Troy trimmed and discarded, then realized it was too short. That should have been their expense, not mine. They trimmed and discarded the vent...yet charged me to purchase another one and inflated the costs when doing so. Why not tell me they would 2x or 3x the retail cost on anything they purchased? I would have told them NO WAY. Sucn actions are "underhanded". Other contractors have informed me of their increase on items purchased. Not w/Don. He appears to be helpful, but he realizes he is "increasing his bill." I'm a single gal on a very restricted budget, so there is no way I would have agreed to anything they did if I had known they would price gouge me. I had a written estimate from another person for $760.00 what they did, plus additional work. I sincerely believed Don would keep his word that it would be approx. $600 to complete the job.m **** Following this review, Don replied, which I would expect him to do. However, I find it most interesting that many of his comments were totally fabricated. I'm a professional in my 60's, not an elderly lady in my 70's. He is aware of that because he had been quite chatty about "family issues" when he was seeking to obtain my business, sharing items about his children, etc. It's interesting that when one chooses to rip off someone they fabricate the truth in hopes of making themselves feel better. My marital status and the price of my home have absolutely nothing to do with the integrity of Donald and his work ethics. The fact that the general contractor abandoned the job is my rationale in seeking others to complete the job. Again it is 100% false that Joe Bailey didn't take my calls. There was no reason to telephone him when he abandoned the job. Additionally, I informed Don immediately upon submission of his mandated inflated bill that I was ceasing any/all future work with him, since he was unwilling to keep his word on the bid he had submitted to me. Therefore, I owe him nothing for doors since there was NO agreement for doors. He made more than enough money to cover any expenses he incurred with his astronomical price gouging. There was NO mention of anything negative about the home inspector and that is a total fabrication. Additioinally, the comment about Faith electric is false in that I merely asked Don about installing a wall oven and he informed me I must contact Faith Electric for that. His other comments are false, as reflected in my reviews of Faith Electric. If there were problems with them, I would not have continued to hire them for services. Over 75% of the items he noted he completed are inaccurate and/or totally fabricated. Perhaps he feels this justifies his price gouging. As the Central OK Bldrs. Assoc. has noted, there are countless contractors without integrity whom lack a professional code of ethics and Donald Kennedy is one of these persons.

Action Home Improvements 405-946-0790 donald-kennedy@sbcglobal.net Subject [member name removed]: [member name removed] who is an elderly lady in her 70’s, give or take, and has been recently divorced. She purchased a $500,000.00 home in a gated sub-division in Edmond, Oklahoma on 7-27-14. I met her prior to the week of Nov. 3 and we scheduled work for Nov. 6 & 7. This work had to be done before Nov. 10 because her painters were coming. She had a long list of items she needed help on ( 2 pages ) and on Nov. 6 added another page worth of items. I told her we could get the items done that had to be done and probably some of the other items as well. I had 2 people and myself, working for her that Thursday and one person and myself, working for her that Friday. I have time spent working for her prior to this week and the following week as well. The following items are what were accomplished: Skill Set Electrical: Under counter light remove and replace with new fixture. Wire in and install a new under counter light fixture. Chandelier 12’ off floor, remove 20 40 watt bulbs and install 20 20 watt bulbs and 20 new shades for each bulb. Skill Set Heat & Air: Upstairs unit in attic. Repair duct box that was leaking air. Insulate return copper AC line. Lower floor air duct under clothes washer. Skill Set Roofing: Just west of entry seal flashing/brick/shingles. Skill Set: Appliances: Remove stacked front loading washer and dryer from cabinet. Replace split flex vent pipe with new. Trim solid vent pipe. Clean out lint from vent pipe. Reverse door swing on dryer so it would swing the same way as the washer. Hook up and reinstall stacked front loading washer and dryer. The vent that was trimmed was a solid vent and not replaced. Skill Set Carpentry: Remove and lower wall cabinet above laundry sink. Remove base under stacked washer and dryer. Lower shelf above stacked washer and dryer. Measure for new cabinet doors. Install new matching 4” hard wood crown and bed moldings to laundry room north wall cabinets. Kitchen pantry installs new matching 6” hard wood base board. Time Spent Picking Up Materials: Location for moldings. Location for vent pipe. Location for light fixtures. Location for cabinet doors ordering and picking up. In no way, shape or form could all this done in 9 hours Jane. In all 3 people have 20+ hours invested. Materials we purchased and provided for her. Two under counter light fixtures and bulbs. Misc. electrical wire and hdw. AC pipe insulation, duct foil tape and duct sealant. Roof sealant. Dryer vent flex pipe and foil tape. Crown & bed and base board moldings. Brad nails. Cost total $230.00 Materials [member name removed] provided. 20 20 watt bulbs and 20 shades. Cabinet doors were special ordered Thursday afternoon and a rush rush put on them so her painters would have them early next week. My cabinet maker had them ready Friday afternoon, 4 doors for $220.00 – type agreed to and price agreed to. The folks that built these doors I have paid for them, Jane. You received the doors the following Tuesday morning. Have I seen a $220.00 check for these doors from you [member name removed]? The answer to this question is NO! [member name removed] negative comments were brought to my attention Tuesday afternoon Nov. 11. During our first visit [member name removed] spoke negatively about the following folks. The Home Inspector, Vernon Smith, he would be paying for one item on her list which she said he did not list on the inspection report. The contractor, Joe Bailey, was paid more than $30,000.00 for his work which she said was incomplete, not to her specs and he wasn’t returning her phone calls. She said Faith Electric over charged her and work was incomplete. I have visited with these folks and none have a kind word for [member name removed]. I will never work for [member name removed] again and would recommend to all others to do the same. Donald Kennedy Nov. 17, 2014

They were professional and prompt in the estimate.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate for my fence and interior.
The work on both projects was excellent and quick. We had gotten other bids and the bid on the ramp was the same as other companies, but the bid on the floor was a little more expensive. We went with this company even though it was a higher bid because he gave me a sense of honesty and customer satisfaction while estimating.
Description of Work: We had a handicap ramp installed at the front porch and we had the floor below the sink replaced because it had gotten wet. The ramp was $300 and the floor under the sink was $290.00
