Description of Work: Shutters mounted on 4 windows, 2 bi- fold doors remounted, base & toe kick replaced approx 6 ft in various areas, Pergo added to threshold+ door sweep, curtain brackets removed & 2 new replacements.

The work done was top notch and Yousef was extremely professional from the first step. We had them stay extra time to get everything done since there was more work than the deal could cover. The wood repair was done exceptionally well, and they did all touch up paint and clean up. We were extremely pleased with the work done and we would definitely hire them again.

Filled in a corner vanity in bathroom with under-counter cupboard drawers. One deep drawer he installed an in-drawer electrical plug for hair dryer and styling tool. Perfect match to existing cupboard and a luxury to open drawer and have hair dryer ready to use. Other misc. odds and ends.

They informed me that I did not answer their text so not coming. Wanted to reschedule late following week. I was not available. Cancelled event. Submitted refund claim to Angie's List. Three weeks and no response or refund.
Description of Work: Frame in cellar door opening, and trim stairway time permitting. Materials at site. Requested site visit to insure everything available. Scheduled work day. Followed up 4 days prior.

+ 0 moreWe purchased the Big Deal to have Abba Construction repair exterior door frames on an older home that belongs to my mother-in-law. I'm embarrassed to say that, in this case, I was the one that was late. I had a dentist appointment that ran over and Yousef had to wait on me before starting. Once I arrive, we discussed exactly what needed to be done and Yousef got started. He repaired both door frames and gave each a coat of paint. He did such good work that we hired him to paint the trim on a storage shed that is located behind the home. Again, he did an excellent job. Yousef is a skilled craftsman and great painter. He takes pride in his work and the results prove that. Yousef is an interesting guy that I would be happy to hire again.

+ 0 moreIt was really good. We paid a little extra. It's always whenever you buy one and then it ends up being extra, you are always a little disappointed. It's like if you buy two hours and sometimes, they seem they don't go as that but then it ends up being more hours. He had to go and get some extra parts. He was very nice. You could kind of tell that it wasn't be the $249 to start out with. He has high quality work. He's very detailed. I asked him for a quote for doing the kitchen cabinets and he never got back with me. He should have a follow-up.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for Abba Construction. He installed the bath door. He fixed an area by the washing machine as far as lie drywall and patching.

+ 3 moreThe two men arrived about 12:30 and did not call it a day until shortly after 5 PM. The "Deal" was $250.00 for 6 man-hours of work (2 men=3 hours), with another $50.00 per man-hour thereafter. Thus, five total hours came to an additional $200.00, which is what I was charged, plus some $178.00 for materials from a local Home Depot. Significantly, Mr. Joseph Niya, the Boss of Abba Construction who personally headed up the job, talked me OUT of a what might have been a major sub-floor repair as he deemed it uncalled for, unnecessarily expensive, and even potentially damaging to other walls/ceilings for no actual benefit. His co-worker that day, another Gentleman also named "Joseph," from up-state New York, was a very friendly fellow, and exceptionally capable. The two of them worked together like hammers-and-nails, nuts-and-bolts, screws-and-screw drivers. That is, a perfect combination, no wasted time or any effort at cross purposes, doing most of their own clean up as they went, working together when necessary, and independently when possible. I would recommend Abba to anyone, and certainly this particular Angie's List Deal should it be repeated.
Description of Work: Performed many relatively small repairs, some of which had been accumulating over several years. Did not charge anything additional for buying the necessary materials, leaving me the receipt and showing the charge for the additional hours of work performed by the two men. The repairs were in most cases superior to the original conditions of those things needing to be fixed or replaced. Specifically, they repaired a section fence damaged in a recent ice storm, rehung a garden hose caddy, fixed a broken storm door handle, shaved and re-hung two interior doors that would not close properly, replaced an exterior door knob, replaced two exterior door bottom edge weather strips, hung an interior home office door sign, replaced an attic light bulb, replaced a broken exterior door security chain, and possibly of greatest long-run benefit, constructed a large patch fitted into a ceiling air return duct damaged many years ago (before we bought the home) that exposed the entire attic to the central heat/air system. The stress this must have been putting on that system can only be imagined, and the drain on our respective gas/electric bills may have been heroic. We eagerly await a full billing cycle or two to see the full benefit these Gentlemen may have made possible.

+ 1 moreAs I had purchased the two hours of work on Angie's List, there was not a preliminary visit to assess the work to be done or the materials that would be needed. I was given the hourly charges in advance should the work take longer. It did but.... They arrived right on time. They made the assessment and the boss took off to find the necessary supplies while his helper did the demo. It took a lot longer than expected to find what he needed but the wood he finally found was beautiful! I knew it would be hard to find, but had no idea what size or kind of wood to have on hand. He did dismiss his assistant once he ascertained that he could finish the job on his own. While I initially was very concerned as to how the work would be done, the completed product was absolutely breathtaking. He far exceeded my expectations for workmanship. I was still a bit disappointed in the final cost simply because I didn't have any idea how long it would take or how much the wood would cost. I would definitely use ABBA CONSTRUCTION again if I need to have any more woodwork finished.
