I love doing odd jobs, rather than the same thing all the time. I can be your handy-man, computer fixer, website builder, intelligence gatherer, clean-up crew, delivery service, roofer or tree wrangler. I can also set up your computer systems or network systems. (But please don't try to hire me to do this full-time.)

***2015 Angie's List Super Service Award Winner*** We perform residential and commercial services. When my company has a job to do we do it so that our clients are happy with the job we do, And what Empire does is for our client and our company is pleased with the job they have asked for.
"I was referred by a very reputable client of mine to Empire Lawn Care. I reached out to them, they gave me a quote. When I started asking if they had any pictures of their work that I could see they responded “no”. I thought that was strange given that they were an actual company and not just some random joe. I proceeded to ask how I could find them online so I could see their work and his tone changed. I could never find any pictures ANYWHERE! Despite not finding pictures, I still went ahead and asked him to do the job. I wasn’t getting any response to my questions about pictures or finding them online, and then I receive a text from him telling me to find someone else. I should be able to ask a company for pictures of their work if I’m wanting to hire them for a job don’t you think? I didn’t see anything wrong with that but apparently he did. I’m very disappointed and will NEVER inquire about their business again"

Flowerbeds R Us offers services in the area of the gardens and flowerbeds, hard-scape, irrigation, planting, planning, design, installation and overall maintenance of your outdoor areas. We leave the grass to lawn services, but have been known to pull a mower out to help a customer. The majority of our work performed is in the actual flowerbeds, pulling weeds, planting and pruning plants and young trees to keep them in good health. We clean up and remove green debris and take it to green waste in Tulsa (Tulsa Market Only). A beautiful healthy landscape provides an inviting curb appeal for your family and friends, and it never hurts to be the envy of the neighborhood. If you are looking to sell your home in this market your curb appeal is the best hook to set to catch the eye of prospective buyers. Our philosophy is easy; a customer needs to be treated as they are the only customer we have. Communication is key, while doing as you say you are going to do is must, and leaving the work and surrounding areas better than you found them is our next priority. Giving the customer what they need, and what they want, on a budget they desire. We grow many of our annuals, perennials, some shrubs and have started growing more trees. We sell first to our customers then to the public at price that beats the higher end nurseries. Our greenhouse is located in Coweta. Our pricing is simple we charge $ 25.00 per man hour, we normally run a 2 to 3 person crew, depending on the size of the job, most clean up jobs run 2 to 3 hours with a two person crew. Supplies and materials we can provide them or give the customer the option to purchase them. We can pick up and deliver for you if needed. Mulch can be purchased in bulk; we even offer Green waste mulch for a charge of $25.00 per load which is about 3 cubic yards(Tulsa Market Only). We have used this mulch for since 2009 in flowerbeds that we maintain on a regular basis, with no problems of poison ivy, or disease issues. It is a rich organic addition to your beds, and we know that there is not lumber scrap that many other bagged and bulk types of mulch contain. We have a firm foundation in organic and eco-friendly beds and gardens, in addition to ability to work in beds that are chemically treated. Our services are scaled to the residential market; we can plan large projects to be stretched over a period of time to allow homeowners to budget out their dreams. We understand the value of the landscape and the cost it takes to bring it all together. We do many irrigation repairs on the spot, we can add to or modify your irrigation system to work in your changing landscape as needed, or design and install new systems. Installation of hard-scape, pavers, and short retaining walls, pond or other water features are also in our realm of services. We install raised beds so urban homeowners can enjoy a bountiful harvest from their own back yard. We have references available upon request. Many of our job pictures are posted on Facebook, just search Flowerbeds R Us. On facebook we also post flowerbed tips, or gardening information that is helpful to flowerbed enthusiast. With a hard economy coupled with a hot a dry summer, and the potential of a dry winter plants are struggling to survive, and not everything that looks dead is dead. We are currently recommending that for some shrubs and plants that homeowner wait until spring to replace, unless there are signs that it has truly died. Many ask how long we have been doing this, and how long we plan on being around. In 2009, in the crash of the economy I found myself downsized, and even with a business degree the job market looked grim, so I decided to start over doing what I love to do, being raised around landscape and new home construction I have always loved the outdoors, and flowerbeds have always been my passion. I have done real estate management for multi-family housing in the setting of townhomes and apartments. I went back to school in 2010 at Tulsa Community College to hone my horticulture skills and knowledge. I graduated in May 2012. We tend to think outside the box, and enjoy creating a look that is not seen in every other landscape. We celebrate diversity in people and floriculture, as diversity creates a healthier environment for the eco-system as a whole. We carefully research other plant options and search materials that will thrive; there is more to a landscape than begonias & pansies. We still plant both we don't fill every space with these over used annuals. We plan on staying small enough that we stay personally active in the work being performed, and would like continue doing so for the many years to come. Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.
Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space. Don’t cover your decorative landscape mulch with topsoil as that defeats the purpose of laying down the mulch. If you’re trying to create a certain soil composition to improve plant growth, you’ll likely want compost mixed into the topsoil instead of mulch. Over time, any decorative wood mulch will simply decompose under the topsoil.
No, mulch itself does not necessarily attract termites even though it’s usually made of shredded wood. Some types of mulch like cedar or cypress resist termites because they’re toxic or unappetizing to the wood munchers. However, when the mulch is deep enough, say three inches or more, it creates a perfect habitat for insects of all kinds to build nests.
Although it’s not required to lay anything under mulch, it can help to put landscape fabric or plastic weed barrier down and lay mulch on top. The barrier helps keep weeds from growing up through your mulch. It also helps keep rodents and insects from burrowing into the ground underneath.
