CHRIS EDWARDS CUSTOM WOOD FLOORS

At first everything went well. They were supposed to move the furniture off of half the flooring, do that half, come back the next day and do the other half and come back a third day to move the furniture back. On the second day after they left and the floors dried we noticed that there was a difference between the gloss on what had been done the first day and the second day. When I pointed this out to the foremen when he came back the next morning he became very agitated and said that's what you get when you don't do it all at once. I called the owner, Chris, and he said he would come by and look at it. He never came by. I coated the floor another couple of times with floor wax and it has blended in but that was not my job. I never got a call or any more feed back from them.

Chris used grout instead of T-mouuldings for the transitions between the wood floor and our tile. Looks great. The T-moulding transitions just scream and quot;add-onand quot; and looks cheap to me, but all others that I got bids from only used T-mouldings. Our floor has all the looks for a solid wood floor the way Chris trimmed it out. Chris did everything turn key. I didn't have to deal with a separate trim carpenter or painter. His people were great, professional and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend anyone that is considering installing engineered wood flooring to talk to Chris Edwards before selecting an installer. We purchased our separately from a supplier Chris works with and Chris delivered the materials.

It went beautifully. He had to work his schedule around ours as we were completely remodeling the kitchen and needed him after countertops but before painters. He came just when we wanted it done. Every person who came with each different process had all been with him for 13 to 17 years. They were very knowledgeable, conscientious and reliable. They helped us move furniture when it was over. Also a big plus was that every time I called Chris he answered his cell phone or called me back within a short time.

Chris' team so so timely they were waiting for us on the day we closed on the house. They were professional and even worked some Saturdays to keep the project moving forward.

They arrived promptly to do the work, but the estimator came late. He did call to let us know though. I liked all of the workers and felt comfortable with them in my home. They had workman's comp and liability insurance. The refinishing was done very well. My only complaint is with the wood repairs. My building contractor had already done extensive repairs and these all came out great. Chris Edwards and company did one small repair and it looked horrible. They also failed to do it before they started the refinish, so it really stuck out as different looking. I had them do it twice, and it was better but still not up to the standard that my builder's team did. One of the thresholds was really, really bad. Instead of letting Chris Edwards' crew fix it, I had my builder redo it - and he did an excellent job. I would say do use them to sand and refinish, but have all your carpentry done ahead of time by a finish carpenter.

The work began on time and was completed in the projected time frame. The cost was reasonable.

Great experience from start to finish. Pete Jackson came and did a 2 hour estimate, checking every possible "red flag" and letting us know what might be different than what we're expecting. He gave us lots of choices on solutions to our problems and advised us on great ideas we hadn't thought of. He also modified our pocket doors himself to allow for the doors to function without damaging the new floor. Their staff is professional, experienced (both of the gentlemen who installed the floors had been working there for over 15 years!). The men who did the staining and finishing were quick and thorough. The "wow" factor is amazing. I highly recommend this company for hardwood floor installation and refinishing in Tulsa.
