I needed repair of my convection/microwave oven, and called on Anytime Appliance Services. An appointment was scheduled for the day following my call and I was advised that the technician would arrive between Noon and 2:00 P.M. At 1:59 the technician called to say he was “on his way.” At 2:20 he arrived. Against my better judgment I led him to the inoperative microwave in the kitchen. He stood in front of the unit with a bewildered look on his face, pressed one or two of the control buttons which did nothing. He asked for a coffee cup with some water in it and placed that in the oven. After pressing three of the control buttons, the unit reacted exactly as was described to Anytime Appliance when the service call was scheduled. At that point, the “technician” turned to me and explained that the “power supply board was bad.” (The ticket reads, “Ck unit found bad Power Supply Board. Est. $486.00.). After writing up the ticket, He told me that if I wanted to move ahead with the repairs (which, based upon his analysis, I had no intention of doing) I could go buy the power supply board and he’d install it for $100.00. Total time for this “service call” was 5 minutes which included asking one question (“Do you use this a lot?”), “troubleshooting," writing up the ticket, and leaving with my $89.95 check. I then removed the unit from the cabinet enclosure, took it to a local appliance service shop, explained the problem, and left the oven with them. Early the next morning, the shop called to tell me they replaced a door interlock switch, and the oven was ready for pick-up. Total charges (parts and labor) were $91.28. The oven has operated perfectly since. This scenario was related to Anytime Appliance Services along with a “I want my money back” message. That message was apparently ignored. A second “I want my money back” message was sent – that too is apparently being ignored. As of this writing they have made no contact with me. Needless to say, I’ll never do business with Anytime Appliance Services again.
