Description of Work: I called Ed the morning after a tree had fallen on our electrical line. I explained what our situation was and explained what he thought the problem was and gave a rough estimate on the price. He asked us to call when the tree had been removed and he would try to work us into the schedule. I called him and they showed up within the hour and assessed the damage and even though the job took a lot longer than they had expected, they stuck to their original estimate. I will definitely recommend him.

Description of Work: Ed was very professional and went over & above my expectations. He honored 10% off my initial total invoice (which was over $200). My second experience went well too (the invoice was over ~$250) but he only gave me 10% off the "service call" which in his interpretation means the "first hour" - not 10% off the total bill. I brought this to his attention and he defined "service call" being first hour - which may only sense to another electrician (someone in that trade). Overall pleasant experience (first time "grade A", second time - pricing let down). Quality of work is excellent. He needs to more clearly define his discount.

Description of Work: We had older style smoke alarms in our house and when replacing all the batteries did not stop the infernal beeping, we checked Angie's List and called Mr. Whitney. He was busy, but he took time to come to our house and install the newer style alarms (we had purchased) so that we could regain what sanity we had left. He was very efficient, knew exactly what was required and completed the task in short order.

Description of Work: one of the circuit breaker fuses went bad, so he switched to another fuse.

Description of Work: Used Whitney and Sons for my personal home and rental and will continue to call them for my electrical needs!

Description of Work: Called them to install a ceiling fan in a room that did not have a fixture in the ceiling and some other fairly minor electrical work. Gave me a price that was acceptable. They came when they said, did a good job on the work. Were a little more expensive but I got a licensed electrician.

Description of Work: Breaker tripped in garage. Reset breaker to no avail. Called Whitney. He came within two hours, diagnosed the problem, showed me the issue and fixed it. He charged for a service call, reasonably. He was knowledgable, easy to communicate with and professional. A very good experience.
