Service was ok. Quick response for drywall. Painters came and went at their leisure. 2 days after work was finished (took about a week), David (the owner) called my wife using profanity and calling her a P.O.S. (yeah, really) and demanding payment in full that day or he would put a lein on the house. This was after she said the bank is sending the payment and it would be a day or 2 before it landed in our account. He was nice and quiet when he came to get his check literally the next day and I (the husband) was home. Go figure.

Response from Masterpiece Renovations
Hi [Member Name Removed], after I sent the estimate to your wife, she called and said that she was good with the price and that she needed the job done ASAP. I explained to her that I had several other projects going on and that I could work her project in if she would allow me some flexibility with the schedule. She agreed. When the project was finished, I called to ask about payment. That is when she told me that she couldn't pay me because she didn't know when the insurance company was going to send her a check. I explained to her that even if the insurance company never sends her a check, that she agreed to the job and that she needed to pay for the work provided. She began screaming and using profanity at me on the phone. I told her that I was not going to listen if she couldn't speak civilly. She continued to scream and curse at me and I told her that if she chose not to pay then me I would be forced to file a lien(this is a contractor'[Member Information Removed] only recourse) and then I hung up the phone. She called me back 30 minutes later and said that she would have a check for me the following day(she was still screaming and cursing). I NEVER USED ANY TYPE OF PROFANITY IN MY CONVERSATION WITH YOUR WIFE. IF YOUR WIFE SAID THAT I USED PROFANITY OF ANY TYPE SHE IS SIMPLY NOT TELLING THE TRUTH! You might want to be careful about what you say in future reviews. I would be glad to let you listen to a recording of the conversation.

We recommend Masterpiece Renovations. David was friendly, honest, professional and kept to his word. We wish he had offered more suggestions to meet our needs at the start, but it all worked out well in the end. We had taken the time to decide what we thought would fit our needs and what materials we liked for the finished project (colors and design results were visualized and such). We had a few changes in our minds before the final decision, but David was VERY accommodating. When we first committed, we thought all was clear and all seemed to fall into place and we were VERY excited that what we wanted in materials and colors was going to work!!!! It was only after the project was started and demolition almost complete that it was explained that some of our choices were not going to meet our low maintenance desires and alternative were offered. That was the ONLY disappointment with David and most of his crew. It would have been nice to everything clear before. The B for quality was only because of what we felt could have been a better experience with the cultured marble person. There were VERY limited choices in color schemes and designs where we even felt we were fighting for a specific color scheme and look, the craftsmanship could have been a bit better and the sink drains weird because of the design. This gentleman seems nice, but it was almost as if we had to settle or have more issues. We would be honored to do business with David again, because of getting to know him and his crew and are thankful to them all in the end!!!!!

This company is always prompt, courteous, hard working, and always thorough. I have hired many contractors, and Masterpiece is absolutely top-of-the-line. I am well acquainted with this company, and they do truly quality work, and their foremen are master craftsman. They may make a mistake once in a while, but are always quick to correct it. I'v used them to do about 25-30 jobs for me and all of it was top notch.

It went ok but they actually ordered a completely different door than we had picked out and were not that apologetic about it. We ended up with a door we didn't really want but the work itself was very good. Punctuality was decent. Took a little longer than we thought it should.

These people were absolutely incompetent. They were hired by the property manager at the condo I live in. The workmen were rude. The work was sloppy and totally inadequate. I am having to have the work renovated now that the property manager can no longer stop me; The windows were not flashed so water seeps in. The siding is cracked. I do not believe that any of them had actually had any training. DO NOT USE

[Member Name Removed] and the property manager were in a long running dispute and unfortunately we found ourselves caught in the middle of it. [Member Name Removed] would not allow our guys inside her unit. I explained to her that we could not do the work properly without being inside and she still refused. The property manager instructed us to do the best we could and he also told her that it would be her responsibility to pay for any issues that arose from her not allowing us in. We actually installed siding, windows and doors on about 42 other units and never had a single complaint. In fact, several other property owners brought our guys food and drinks while they were working. I will not give my personal opinion of [Member Name Removed]. I will just say that it was a very unfortunate situation.

Can not say enough wonderful things about David and his team. We took on a renovation of a midtown Tulsa home while living out of state. David was thorough, reliable, honest and extremely easy to work with throughout the entire process. I do not know many contractors who can work so well with a client and interior designer who are both out of state. I would not hesitate to recommend David to anyone who asks.

David returned my call promptly, scheduled a walk-thru, then brought his carpenter out for a more detailed visit. The bid was fair (slightly higher than some others, but within range) and I felt strongly confident they'd do a great job based on the suggestions they made for addressing the problems left by a previous contractor. Bottom line, they were pros in every way. Unfortunately they were several weeks out. Since we're remodeling to sell (and have wasted a bit of time with a previous unsatisfactory company) we decided to go with another bidder. But when I'm ready to remodel another property, I'll call Masterpiece and get on the waiting list. Thanks again to David for your great service.

My experience with David during the walk through was excellent. He was very professional, knowledgeable and willing to listen to all my remodeling needs. While I knew what functionality I wanted to include in the kitchen, David was able to make suggestions and offer opinions on options. He has a wide array of design tools and subcontractors that would greatly help anyone facing a remodel project with limited experience and know-how. I engaged Masterpiece Renovations for the 1st stage of the remodel; the ceiling (mud, tape and texture) and wall repair/finishing in the living room, dining room, hallway and bathroom. David contacted me to do a walk-through with the drywall subcontractor that would be doing the work. I met with him and we discussed the scope of the work to be done. The work was started on November 4th and completed on November 8th ( 5 days). The work was done on-schedule and the quality of the work was excellent. I had a couple of very minor concerns that I intended to discuss with David, that mainly had to do with clean-up and touch-up to one wall. By 5:00pm on Monday, November 11th, I had not heard from David so I texted him to make sure he knew the work was completed and to arrange payment. I made payment on Tuesday, November 12th. David did not check on the work done by the drywaller(s) during or after the work was done. When I contacted him by text on November 11th, he did not ask me if I was satisfied with the work, or inquire about the quality of the work. I began painting on Friday, November 15th and noticed one minor touch-up that needed to be done. I contacted David on Monday, November 18th and told him there was a minor issue, and he told me he could call the subcontractor and have him contact me. He did not offer to come out and look at the repair needed (or the work that was done), I told him that I had the subcontractor's number and that I would take care of it. I understand that this was a small job and did not require much over-seeing, but since I hired Masterpiece Renovations and not the subcontractor, I did expect him to at least inspect the work that was done when it was completed to make sure it was done well (since I do not have any experience and would not know whether the work was done right or not). I thought I was hiring someone that would oversee the project and ensure that I was getting the very best quality and workmanship. I sent David a text on November 27th to tell him that I would not be using Masterpiece Renovations for the second part of the remodel, the complete kitchen remodel. I would like to stress that I was completely satisfied with the quality of the work (I was able to do the touch-up myself) and I was comfortable with the workers that did the work. My only dissatisfaction was that I was expecting the general contractor to inspect the work during and after completion to ensure the work was done right, since I am not able to determine that. I'm confident that Masterpiece Renovations would have been more involved in the larger kitchen remodel, but the complete lack of oversight of the drywall project was a and quot;deal breakerand quot; for me.
Description of Work: The owner of Masterpiece Renovations, David, did a walk through and provided an estimate bid on a complete kitchen remodel, plus ceiling and wall repair and finishing in the living room, dining room, hallway and bathroom. Masterpiece Renovations did the ceiling and wall repair and finishing.

He was excellent. We have used him twice, once for a closet partition and an outdoor space remodel. We are about to use him again for our bathroom and he is excellent. He shows up when he says he is going to show up and he is a true craftsman.
