While the Angie's List site says they have free estimates, when I called to get one, they were going to charge the "special" of $29 to get an estimate for some electrical work. I did not use their services.

I turned out fine. They are professionals. They are all certified. They did a good job.

We called Colburn Electric to finish installing a few ceiling fans and add a new outlet in our kitchen. To our surprise Scott came out within just a few hours that same day. He was very pleasant and didn't laugh at our lack of knowledge when it came to our unfinished projects. :) Colburn Electric is our new to go company for any/all of our electrical issues. Thank you Scott !!

They replaced two ceiling lights in the bedrooms with fan/light combinations. They also replaced a bathroom light fixture. I guess they did a good job, everything works. I was a little taken aback that they did not want to balance the fan blades and told me I had purchased a cheap unit.

But we also had him check some of the wiring and outside light connections, and discussed putting a new outlet into space where we were considering placing a certain piece of furniture--decided not to after he gave us a realistic estimate of what the cost in time and labor would be for that space. Was very pleased with the way he went out of his way to make necessary cuts into the walls for the new outlets so that they would need almost no repairs. Price was realistic for the time and work done, although certainly wished it could have been less!

Showed up on time and performed great work.

I was very pleased with them. They were on time and very response to my needs. I would tell a friend to not waste their time with anyone else and to just call Colburn Electric.

We called our home warranty company, and they sent an electrician, Steve, from Colburn Electric. Steve, arrived before I even knew we'd gotten an appointment - within 30 minutes of me calling the after hours number early on a Monday morning. About a third of the lights in our house had dimmed, our hot water heater wouldn't work, and our heating/cooling window unit had stopped working. We'd already flipped all the breakers and didn't know what else to do. Steve was very professional and very patient. He didn't find the problem in the breaker box right away, because our breaker box is apparently unusual, so he went looking for a different box and found one we didn't know we had (we bought the house a few months ago). He scoured the attic for another box, and when he didn't find one, went back to the original box and found a bad breaker by "hearing" it, which I think it pretty amazing. I doubt someone with less experience could have figured it out. He found a replacement (our box is almost 40 years old and no longer manufactured), and we're good to go. I was so pleased I phoned the company to tell them how great he had been. I'll definitely use this company again.
