I called the number on the "flyer" and wasn't sure it was even valid b/c it looked soooo unprofessional and had 2 names & phone numbers, but one was blacked out w/ a marker and the other # was from Oklahoma City...so my vm message started w/ "I'm not sure this flyer is real, but....". Matt called me about a week later b/c he had been at the lake and said did not get service. He seemed REALLY NICE and said he would only charge $15/hr for 1 guy and $25/hr for 2. Well that was FAR BELOW what others are charging ($45-$55/hr for 1 guy), so again I thought this was a HUGE blessing!!!! He said that he could do anything and if he didn't know how to do something, he could figure it out. Blessing! Well, turns out, it was SOOOOOO NOT a blessing!!!! Matt was NEVER on time, EVER. The least he was late was an hour and a half and the most was about 26 hrs late. It was him and his girlfriend (well, they started dating like that day or something as he was telling me about his other g/f the day I met him and telling me a bunch of personal stuff)...and she apparently has a cleaning business and "knows so much about business", yada yada. O-M-G, I still can't believe this. I would be at work, thinking he was working all day at my house and get a call from my son (TWICE THIS HAPPENED), who I told to go over there, hours later saying nobody was there and nothing was done. I would call & text message Matt (didn't have his g/f's ph #) and not hear back until hours & hours (or days later). After a few times of screwing me over, he said "I don't care how long it takes to finish, I'm only charging you for 8 more hours" and he had 4 of them over there. Well 12 hours later, he said he was going to switch door knobs and I thought that's all he had left, so I told him that my friend could do that and he could go and I even paid him for 10 hours b/c that day they were working hard (other days he'd be playing around alot). I felt bad for him. But then after they left, I saw several things not done and mess-ups (like they had to paint the trim around my garage and my front porch and there was paint all over the brick around the garage!!!! So he was supposed to come on Saturday to finish/fix things. A stayed home instead of working overtime (lots of $!) just for this. Well, a few hours later, his g/f shows up and says "i'm here to see what all needs to be done, Matt's on another job". I asked if he was coming that day at all and she said no. I was P*****. She said he would be there Monday. I said "no! I work on Monday!" She asked if I was working the next day, Sunday, I said no, so she said that she would bring Matt by about 8 the next morning and her and this other lady she was w/ that day said they would be going to a cleaning job, but then they'd come help him about 1-2. They got there Sunday morning about 9:30-10:00. He could tell I was so extremely p*****. He asked if I had any caulk. I just said no w/out looking at him as I was working on cleaning the garage. He said "well, I'm gonna go get some caulk, I'll be right back". Yeah, that was about 2.5 months ago and I have never seen from him or heard from him again. I texted him and called him later that day. I wasn't sure if I should really be p***** or worried that something actually happened. I told him by voicemail late Sunday evening that I was going back over to my house that Tuesday night to finish things up and if everything was not DONE by then, I was going to post this report on Angie's List. Again, I've never heard from him and nothing else was done when I went over that Tuesday night. The WORST thing for Fibromyalgia is stress and he has caused me soooooooooooooooooo much pain, physically and emotionally. I have been really busy trying to fix everything he didn't do or messed up and moving, so I'm quite a bit late getting this report in. But I remember every detail. If all you care about is hourly rate, go for it, but you'll end up paying more in the long-run for sure. I had an actual contracting company that did a couple hours work for me and quoted me less than I ended up paying Matt. I still can't believe he did this, I don't get it. Yes, there are many categories I checked b/c again, he said he could do it all and his g/f runs a cleaning business. Her name is Dee, tho I don't know her last name or the name of her business. I know they wore red T-Shirts that was "something Lumberjack something" and even his voicemail greeting said something about being a Lumberjack. I hope and pray to God that I can help at least one person not go through what I went through w/ this couple. His excuse the first couple of x's was that this guy who funded all of his equipment kept booking these other jobs for him and he had to go b/c he paid for everything. Well Dee got him away from that guy somehow (b/c she's "brilliant at all that biz stuff"). But it just got worse after that. He would even tell me that he had to go re-do a bathroom for this lady b/c she lived in some ritzy area in Tulsa and he could charge her more $. Seriously!!!
