From my initial inquiry to the final inspection, every interaction was friendly and informative. + -1 moreThis will be updated as needed Roofers that were contracted were good. Arrived early, stayed late. There were only a few minor issues, broken glass, flashing with nail droppings through skylight etc. Contractor informed me that my roof was not up to code. He was the only roofer to tell me this. Others may have been planning on doing this, but nothing was mentioned. He said he would submit additional info to my insurance company the with price and that they WOULD pay because it was mandatory and had to be brought up to code. He was given my insurance company name, number and adjuster name. I let him know that I was not sure the insurance company would be willing to pay extra and ask what happens it they dont? His reponse was " I guess I will have to eat it" I am not a contractor, but I would have waited until everything was approved. An additional $5000.00 is a lot extra. I feel through the text messages, and emails that have been saved I am being threatened with a lein on my home and insurance fraud. I feel I need to contact my insurance company and send them all communication from this contractor. I did ask additional times for my signed itemized receipt and have received nothing back. I also ask about contractor background check information and was ignored. This is my fault I didnt follow through on back ground check until we started.
Description of Work: Installed roof. I received significant damage during the spring storms. I started searching for a roofer first. It was a very busy time for all. I found Zach, Qual-Con LLC through Thumbtack. I ask for a background check and I should have waited for it. But, my roof and house was a mess and I was impatient.I should have done the background check. Zack assured me I needed additional decking and that it was mandatory upgrade in my city. I was told " if your insurance wont pay the additional 4 thousand, I will eat it" that was witnessed at my office. I furnished Zack all my insurance info and his "hired" crew did their job. The job itself is good. There are a few problems that I emailed Zack on and he never replied back. He has now started contacted me threatening a lein on my house, insurance fraud andgeneral harassment, bordering on blackmail. I explained to him I was going through radiation treatment and dont always have the ability to talk . But I have kept up through text and especially email. He admitted he didnt check his email. I have given him all the information previously and as late as last night via email. All the info was available in our text, our emails and on Thumbtack. His behavior is now disturbing to me and fearful considering his recent criminal past, OSCN public information.I am a military widow and I said undergoing radiation, I cannot handle this. I have kept all documentation, except the final receipt which I signed as I paid. I have ask for a copy of that and an itemized receipt which he says he cannot give me. He said it would be an additonal 4000.00 fordecking and now it has jumped to 6000.00. Which has now gone to 9000.00 pluss the 10,000. for roof. All was paid within 6 weeks of completion and roof was paid on that day. I told him in a (kept) text msg I could afford no more than the roofing amount insurance would pay. He concurred at that time.I have now been threatened with liable and slander for telling the truth.
