BENN ROOFING INC

Description of Work: I called Benn roofing after the terrible hailstorm we had in Oklahoma City last year. The reason I called this company is that they had put a new roof on my sister's house in 2008, and did a great job both in quality and looks. Mr Benn and his adult son came to evaluate the dammage on the agreed upon day and time. His son did the roof inspection, as Mr Benn himself doesn't climb up on roofs any more, which was quite understandable. Mr Benn himself then spoke with us at length about the dammage, which he considered more than enough for complete replacement, and the cost to replace a roof of the same quality that we had, which was a forty-year roof. He is very well-spoken and explained all of the dammage to us in detail. We THOUGHT we had full replacement coverage on our entire house and its contents, so we were interested in possibly upgrading to a different roof. He then gave us the complete catalog of the Elk-GAF brand of roofing, and said to let him know after an adjuster from our insurance company had come out. We told Mr Benn that we realized that a lot of people were in much worse shape than we were-we had no leaks or actual holes through the roof, so we were not in a huge hurry to have the new roof put on, just whenever his crew could get to it. They were very appreciative of of this, but still had the roof started in 2 weeks, and done in I think 2 days. Because of a small clause hidden in our insurance policy, we ended up getting a 40-year laminated shingle roof again. Mr Benn suggested a new design to replace the wind turbines on the old roof. This was described as venting all the way along both sides of the main ridgeline of the house. It would be permanent, and never need servicing like any wind turbine. We decided to have this done, as the cost was the same and the venting is invisible from the street. He also said that when the roof itself was finished, the crew would paint all other vents and pipes on the roof the same shade of paint as the color of the roof for a look of more continuity. Everything was done exactly as the contract described. They cleaned up from the re-roofing meticulously. We never found even ONE nail left in our yard-and we did choose to have the roof nailed down by hand. The Benn family was very courteous, prompt and professional in all of our dealings with them. During the course of working with our insurance company and the roofing company, we spoke to Mr Benn and his adult son in person, and Mrs Benn and the adult daughter at the office several times. They were all very nice and helpful. We would certainly use this family-owned and operated company again.

Description of Work: He removed the old roof and installed a new roof. Only took them 2 days at the most to complete.
