The first time we hired Mr. Scott, we needed to do something about a basement wall that supports the west side of our small house, built in 1922. Expanding/contracting clay around the basement had cracked the wall, which was bowing inward and aT risk of collapsing someday. Mr. Scott built a six-inch-thick, five-foot-tall rebar-reinforced wall in front of the existing wall. When we asked him if there would ever be any more cracking, he said, "This wall is never moving again." There hasn't been a single problem with the wall since that was done in about 2010. We called him again this summer (2017) because the cracks in our two raised porches were approaching two inches wide. The posts supporting part of the roof sat on the porches, and there were cracks around and under (!!!) the bases of the posts. We got an estimate from another contractor who said it would be $6800 for one porch only. Mr. Scott did both porches for $5550, and he did an outstanding job (will attach before and after pix). He used 90-degree rebar around all the edges of the porches to reinforce them. He recommended making the step risers shallower (great decision!), which added a step to each porch. He propped up the porticoes over each porch using multiple 2x4's, took off the posts, replaced the rotted wooden bases of the columns with cedar, and put the posts back up after the concrete had cured. When he was done, he said, "These porches will last until the house is torn down." We told him not to tempt the fates of Oklahoma weather! Mr. Scott communicated well at every step of the process and did everything on time and on budget. (He actually said he went a little over budget, but he would honor his original estimate, so he is an honest person.) He even took an existing metal hand rail from one of the porches to his home, and his grown son welded on an extension so that the rail could be re-used, saving us some money. We are 100% satisfied and recommend him wholeheartedly! (I know he also does driveways because he gave an estimate to a neighbor, and he told me what that project would involve. He has been doing this work for a few decades, so he knows what he is doing.)
Description of Work: Two raised porches that were 95 years old were replaced with new concrete porches (2017). Previously had hired him to build concrete wall built in basement in front of an original wall that was bowing inward (work done in about 2010).

They arrived on time, prepared and did an excellent installation and cleaned up all their mess and took it with them when they were finished. I had him install metal posts in the concrete so I could erect a wooden fence and they were all set perfectly and made my fence work a breeze. I would and will hire them again when I need concrete work.
Description of Work: Replaced a segment of deteriorating concrete and expanded a walkway

My home had elevation problems that allowed water to accumulate under the crawl space of the foundation and around the north and south sides of the house. Dave Scott provided assistance in putting in french drains and a drain in the driveway in front of the garage to move the water away from the house. He supervised the removal of the old driveway and poured a new driveway and patio entry that allowed for water to be moved away from the house. The new driveway provides access to the house by handicapped individuals. Dave Scott and his crew provided excellent service. They were prompt, courteous and professional. Dave provided suggestions for the project that enhanced the functionality of the driveway and entry. The work was completed within the time frame indicated. They left the yard looking great. They were professional in working with the neighbors and having equipment in the street and yard. The entire project meets my expectations for keeping the water from accumulating around and under the house. The driveway and patio looks great. It is functional and makes the house looks so much better. I love it. I would hire Dave Scott and his crew for another concrete project.
Description of Work: Dave Scott and his crew removed an old driveway and poured a concrete driveway approximately twice the size of the old driveway. A patio entry was added to the front of the house. French drains were added to the east and south side of the house. A drain was added to the driveway in front of the garage. A french drain was added to the north side of the house.
